You wonder if Ally McCoist rues the day he called for the public outing of members of the SFA Judicial Panel which imposed a player registration ban on his club. One judge, one journalist and one football club, Raith Rovers, were soon outed. Crossing the Fifers was a mistake.
Raith Rovers are now pointing out the same facts we have discussed here for months:
“We are also concerned that there has not as yet been an opportunity for clubs to receive legal advice from the SFL and/or debate the potential consequences on the smooth running of our league in the event that the Courts are asked to annull/strike down any of the corporate transactions that have led to the current position of Sevco Scotland Ltd as owners of certain assets of the Rangers oldco.
“Indeed, the position as regards the potential sanctions to be applied by the Scottish FA via its Appellate Tribunal has also still to be bottomed out.”
In short, Sevco’s ownership of Ibrox may be nullified by the courts and the SFA will be forced to subvert judicial oversight if it wants to guarantee Sevco participate in football next season.
While these concerns were only expressed online, the SFA were able to ignore the issue, but with Raith Rovers asking the questions Mr Regan will have to look SFL clubs in the eye and tell them what he’s going to do with Lord Carloway.
Lurgan 53
Dwyer O’Hagan, or Lurgan 53 as he was known here, passed away on Wednesday after an illness stretching back to last year. Dwyer enjoyed our triumphs and defeats on the blog for many years and will be sadly missed by us all. Our condolences to his family and friends.

Hopefully a link to McCoist in Stirling:

The SFA appear to think they are immune from club action.
How about this for a tactic.
All those clubs who believe that they have been either:
put under undue pressure and bullied
put in an invidious position
served poorly by the current executive
victims of blatant cheating and manipulation of the rules
collectively agree to resign from the SFA, SPL and SFL, with immediate effect, all contributing a standard prepared letter to that effect delivered on Friday 13th July at 9.00 am.
Done COLLECTIVELY, it would put them firmly in control of the situation. It might also properly attract the attention of FIFA and UEFA.

I had the pleasure of meeting Joe McBride once when I was asked to the walfrid per match do by my accountants . Lovely Man .

Don’t forget Carl Muggleton :-))
It matters not a jot whether sally was, or wasn’t, at a bigotfest yesterday. He is an irrelevance as a manager and, after his behaviour at the shame game, an irrelevance as a person ……
Celtic FC
Big george had wonderful talent!
Great first touch, great passer, could tackle, was good in the air, could finish and read the game well.
Not sure he was as good as world class and unfortunately we will never know how good he could have been.
Shame.

I’m probably a fair bit older than your good self but share your jealousy over not being able to see the Lions or Connolly.
I vaguely remember seeing Dalgliesh in the Hoops but my first real memory of him was when he returned as a Liverpool player in Jock Stein’s testimonial in ’78.
Paul McStay will always be my all time favourite player, I think we often forget just how good he was because of the poor teams he played in after 1989.
Dumbarton to vote for Sevco in division one after a fans’ meeting:
THE directors of Dumbarton FC met this morning to reflect carefully on what Sons fans have been saying about Newco Rangers after 93 season ticket holders, Sonstrust members and shareholders attended a meeting about the issue at the Stadium yesterday.
The Stadium meeting on 7th July featured an impassioned but level-headed debate and a detailed presentation of the ramifications of the two main options facing SFL owners next week.
After hearing arguments on both sides, a clear majority of those voting (55 to 28) reluctantly felt that admitting the Newco into the First Division would be the better option for Scottish football and smaller clubs as a whole – though no-one was happy with the situation other clubs have been put in.
There was shared anger at the situation that has been created by the Rangers debacle and a commitment to future reform to put the game in Scotland on a more equitable and sustainable footing in future.
Despite differences in the public debate, the DFC Board believes there is a determination to hold together for the good of the game and for the benefit of small clubs like Dumbarton.
The SFL is holding a Special General Meeting on 13th July 2012 to decide the Newco issue. There are also ongoing discussions between the governing authorities, and Dumbarton’s directors aim to stay closely in touch with developments that may yet effect the final outcome.

We should be wary of ‘unverified’ information. There is no provenance as to location, date or purpose.
The image of FPLG is recent but could be from anywhere in the last say 6 months.
That doesn’t look much like Stirling to me? It looks much more like the east end of Glasgow. Check the building in the background with the blue/grey roof.
Someone should be able to identify this location from the various geographic clues.
Any takers from locations throughout Scotland but particularly Glasgow and Stirling?

Well it seems the clubs wont get a vote( just in case they vote no to newco.) the board wil vote to decide which league the Huns start in.Its amazing the sheer brass necked cheating that is taking place to assist them.Every football fan in Scotland who wants the Scottish game to have integrity should make there feelings known to this commitee STOP YOUR CHEATING vote for integrity.H.H.

Old Tim speaks of that game
He told me it is one of the few times he has been embarrassed to be a fan
( hope I’ve got that right OT )
I have been going to the games since the mid fifties and have vague memories of Tully, Collins and MacPhil, all Celtic legends.
The one player I would love to have seen is Patsy Gallagher.
What was he like DBBIA?
:0)

I remember watching Stewart Slater around that time and thinking…..today’s going to be his day, today he’s going to show what a class player he is.
Still waiting….
MacPhil = MacPhail, but you knew that anyway!

They are no doubt looking for a few quid from sky for the tele games and a couple of full houses

Gary Gillespie
Wonder goal on his debut
Then ws injured/ rubbish thereafter …mostly injured
Not to mention Tony Cascarino … His shorts were too big for me :-))
Morning thoughts and prayers are with Joe McBride and his family this morning.
With regards the pic of Sally it was taken at the car park opposite Saint Enochs I was informed.
Hail hail
Who cares what the wee fat noxious git was up to at the weekend?
Had the dubious pleasure of driving through Plean yesterday. The quintessential DOB town.
Glad it poured on them.

The road surface seems poor enough for King Street car park
Any new signings or departures imminent this window?
Any stories this weekend?

Probably the reason he Is my favourite Celtic player Is that he stayed with us through those times, they were horrendous and he could of easily got a move down south to a team that would of improved his game and shown his ability. He will always be the greatest In my mind as he gave me and probably thousands of other Celtic supporters hope.
Patsy Gallacher- on the Patsy podium, along with Patsy Cline.
Wow… the cynical viewer of Dumbarton FC would point out that as a member of Division 1 with no hope of promotion they would have the most to gain by Sevco being fast tracked in… They get the extra payments and gate receipts from playing Sevco.
Thank goodness they decided to vote this way for the good of Scottish football.

I’ll join Tiny Tim in his marathon spud eating endeavour if that’s Sally at an orange walk.
Looks more like majorettes or something of that ilk.
never saw joe mcbride play but sounds like a terrific player by some of the posts on here, better than henrik some say. must try dig out some youtube clips. hopefully joe makes full recovery. celtic family already lost special member this week in Lurgan, some excellant posts about him . thoughts are with his family and friends.
any talk of more comings and goings at parkhead ? read today ipswich fear they will
be priced out of move for Daryl murphy, celtic should be happy if they get over 250k for him. hopefully we can get rid of rasmussen asap aswel and free those 2 wages.
torn in 2 over Ki, think he is fine footballer but wasted in SPL wrestling matches, however he could be very good assit in europe, midfield 3 of him, kayal and ledley sounds good to me.
Need to keep the focus on asset ownership / sale, and on the appellant tribunal now…….. They keep trying to slip things under the radar, but these 2 aspects are imminently critical ……… Then we have the Fraud Squad and dual contracts / EBT decision etc …..
Sally might need a job as a drummer next year….

I remember the joke at the time that Gillespie would get injured sitting on the panel of Question of Sport!!
Garrygillespieshamstring,
If I remember correctly, Celtic had to play the first round, a first, because the team from Yugoslavia, I think, were put out of the tourney and as that left an uneven number of teams left, Celtic were refused the bye.
I work with a ‘ dumbarton ‘ season ticket holder. His mask has slipped lately. Now refers to the buns as ‘us’ and ‘we’.

Fully agree…..certainly not Stirling
Think CQN should concentrate on more important things this week ……
I wonder what the Dumbarton fans will have to say after seeing the fait-accompli context of the vote…?
Every decent person, EVERY decent person should be totally outraged at the behaviour of the executives of the various associations.
The response to these proposals should screamed from the rooftops:
“Longmuir, Regan, Doncaster and Ogilvie, stop acting as officers of RFC (ia/l), start representing the members of your respective associations or resign immediately. You have a great responsibility for creating this disastrous situation and you should step aside to let those who do have integrity and genuine care for the game make the decisions.”
alex thomson@alextomo
@Joebhoy76 got em. I have a lengthy list of Qs for SFA, FIFA, UEFA etc
CELTIC FC………1017
George Connelly,how good was he?
Hmmm, the proof was there for all who saw him,he could play anywhere.
I always said he was our Beckenbauer-to see Davie Hay make the same comparison fills me with pride.
Davie is well known for his ability to spot a player, after all!
How good a player COULD he,SHOULD he have been?
Well, that is another question, but I think Davie Hay provided the answer.
We lost a L-O-T of players around that time, and with Jock’s injuries,we never really recovered.
Team-building and replacement takes time and planning, and we had it dumped upon us.
But we were still priveleged to watch George.
He really was THAT good.
They will be in division 1 and Regan, Ogilvie, Doncaster, and Longmuir will keep their jobs.
Things never change within the SFA they have always been corrupt.
These other teams in the lower divisions just don’t get it, the system is to be rigged for 1 team to gain promotion, who in their right mind would vote for that.
What chance has Andy Murray got at the All England Club.
I fear there may be a few honest mistakes. The umpire is Howard Webb. Enough said.
