Rallying call to supporters from the manager

1060

Neil Lennon’s interview with the official site was the second resounding State of the Club address from Celtic within a week.  The manager said:

”Clearly, in terms of where Rangers do play, that is now a matter for others to decide upon, it is something we have no control or influence over.

“We must now move on, and move on with a collective unity between the supporters and the club and the team.

“We need to stand strong, shoulder to shoulder and all work together to continue to move the club in the right direction.

“We want as many fans as possible to come back to the club and take their seat at Celtic Park and invest in the club as much as possible.

“We are now looking forward and not back, we have a vibrant young team, I want to progress this team as far as I can but we cannot do this without the fans’ support.

“There will be no slacking off or complacency, we have a lot to look forward to and that´s what we are preparing for, but I need to be very clear, we need our fans with us every step of the way.

“We cannot let outside negative influences dictate the mood at Celtic, we are very optimistic and we are very much looking forward to the season but we need our fans right with us”.

“It´s imperative we make inroads in Europe again this year and it would be nice to get through the qualifiers and into the Champions League group stages, but I´m under no illusion how difficult that´s going to be

“Everyone wants to play at the big table and that´s our whole focus. We go into this as champions and that is a fantastic feeling, so hopefully that will give the players an extra spring in their step.

“If we qualify then you never know where it will take us.”

I hear season ticket sales are up on the corresponding period last season but the message from Neil is clear, with the driver for high-value corporate ticket sales missing, Celtic are more dependent on ordinary supporters buying tickets than ever before.

This is your tax-and-supplier-paying-champions-today-and-next-season-Celtic.  You wouldn’t rather it any other way so get along and enjoy it.

Even when the hoops are playing CQN is putting the boot into the club, the comments about Neils statement are shocking. He is just a football man wanting to keep his squad together, hey but don’t let that stop so called Celtic fans having a go and I’m the Hun superb.

  2. yet again my head is spinning..

Celtic telling us via Lenny to accept whatever happens…

    Why?

or is it Lenny telling us to support the team…?

  3. Not good enough Celtic.

Shocking first half by the sounds of things and we’re struggling to match a 3rd rate German team in terms of effort and skill.

No chance we’ll make the Champs league.

Neil Lennon’s tactics obviously arent working.

We need a first team coach pronto.

She said the only way she could help was if he could remember the curse word for word but that would probably be impossible after forty years .

Exciting start to the second half, Celtic look like they have a lot more heart and bite but then Forster pulls off a good double save.

Nice one – very funny. At least I assume that post was satire? I mean no Celtic fan would really have a go like that on the basis of a few Twitter comments on the first half of the first pre-seaonf friendly.

  13. Eyes Wide Open on

Took a scroll through the first pages and surprised to hear people being critical of Lennons rallying call.

Im not sure what else Neil can do in his position.

We have to look after our own interests – those bills we have to pay havent gone away you know!

Our arguments to those who choose to follow EPL clubs has always been consistent – you can only beat whats put in front of you and nothing has changed there.

Im not sure what else the club can do at this particular juncture – before the vote which will decide whether or not the game in Scotland is morally as well as physically and ability wise dead.

Celtic have to wait until the establishment have achieved their clear objective before we can do anything, by taking a case to UEFA / FIFA (whose silence has been deafening and whose refusal to do anything really disappointing).

We have effectively had millions cheated from us, we have bills to pay and at times we struggle to do so culminating in, albeit a manageable, but debt nevertheless.

We are operating in a league that offers zero competition.

Two claims to get the hell out of dodge.

However, the time hasnt come, yet.

Celtic can not go public about anything they may have planned because the red tops would try and turn Scotland into civil war (they will have to find something to print about that is within their educational IQ)

  21. One Nigel Aisosa is alleged to have

finalised plans to start a football

academy with the name SiaOne this

Saturday in Kubwa area of Nigeria’s

    capital, Abuja.

    Former Nigeria head coach, Samson

Siasia, who owns an academy under

same name, raised the alarm to

    SuperSport.com that the alleged

impostor did not get his consent to run

any programme on behalf of him or his

    academy.

“I don’t know anybody called Nigel

Aisosa and I don’t have in my

    programme any camping or screening

exercise for my academy for this

    Saturday. It seems somebody

somewhere in the name of Nigel Aisosa

    is trying to defraud soccer-loving

Nigerians and I want them to beware of

    such fraudster.

“Any time that I want to hold any

    programme for SiaOne Soccer

Academy, I will duly publicise such in

the newspapers, radio and television as

I used to do. It is not that I will use just

one online medium like the guy used.

“The fraudster is asking players to pay

certain amount to an Access Bank

account. I want Nigerians to disregard

this because I have no hand in it and it

is simply a case of fraud,” said Siasia.

    However, when SuperSport.com

    hoodwinked the alleged fraudster into

speaking the guise of a would-be client,

he responded by giving details of the

    programme including financial aspect of

    it.

“Yes the programme is holding this

Saturday at the NYSC camp in Kubwa,

Abuja. Are you coming for it or you want

    to register someone,” he asked.

“No, I’m bringing my child Kyle Lafferty,” responded our reporter. “So how much is the form?”

“The form is just N5,000 (around $32)

per head and for those coming from

outside of Abuja you will pay an

    additional N3,000 (around $19) for

    accommodation. The programme is the

    screening exercise to gain admission

    into the academy.

“I will send you the details of the

Access Bank account you will pay into.

And when you pay please call me and

inform me,” the man parading himself

as Aisosa said to our reporter during a

    three-minute telephone conversation.

At exactly 12.45pm local time (13.45pm

CAT), Aisosa kept true to his words and

sent our reporter a text confirming the

    Access Bank account numberwith the

    account holder being Nigel Aisosa

    Oriakhi.

    Worried by the development, former

    Nigeria international, Siasia said, “We

have already taken steps to apprehend

the fraudster and to ensure he is

    brought to book.”

    An attempt was made by

    SuperSport.com to call Aisosa’s

    telephone number again at about

1.25pm local time (2.25pm CAT, GMT

+2) but his telephone was switched. off
