    I’m usually the optimist but I’m feeling a bit nervous with the team selection. Not sure if I would have picked anyone else who is fit and available. Was hoping some of our new recruits would be match fit and ready.

    At the end of the storm there’s a golden sky…… I have a good feeling about today.

    so we were advised by the Liverpool medical team the our loanee would not be available to play until at least after the international break.

    The issue is they are significantly bigger than our players. They may not be good but they will be playing for set plays and we have maybe 3 players who can clear the ball.

     

     

    The Midfield doesn’t have a tackler in there and the wee guys up front will be out muscled if the ball goes long following a high press or they’ll win it and be in on our defence.

     

     

    This is not a good situation.

     

    This is shaping up tol be a long afternoon and an even longer fortnight.

     

     

    Again, I hope I am wrong but that team does not fill me with any confidence.

    Angeball went out with the window, BR has been consistent with Abada Kyogo Maeda. The rest of the changes are due to injuries, Scales was a show in, after CCV Nawrocki and Welsh got injured.

    Big game for the back 4 , but probably bigger game for our wingers.

     

     

    Two weak full backs, this is where the chance is.

     

     

    Maybe the making of Abada.

    Not sure about the balance of the team hope it works out for us of course.

     

    Thought maybe Nat Philips might get a chance alongside Acker Bilk. Liam can play left back if height is what you are looking for in a game like this.

     

    Seem to remember a certain Tony Warner, also on loan from Liverpool, in goal for the Celts in 5-1 victory at Celtic Park back in November 1998. A game also notable for the debut of one Johan Mjallby, who like Nat had only signed for us a few days earlier….

    The first Celtic tackle will be a yellow card.

     

    They won’t get a booking until the last 10 minutes.

    But they are poor.

    Game against Them.

     

     

    They’ll try and storm us early but if we can survive that we can do okay.

     

     

    Time for fringe players to step up and show why they’re worthy of the hoops.

    Morning all from a pleasantly mild Louisville.

     

     

    Dog walked, coffee piping hot and looking forward to some good training ground work over next two weeks with the confidence of taking 3 points today seeing us really kick on with the season.

    Obviously hope I am way wrong but FFS how do we get ourselves in this type of situation. Clearly injuries can’t be helped but the midfield is powder puff and we’ve done nothing to better it. How bad must Iwata be that Kwon gets the bench before you – and we confirmed the buy in the window, why?

    Liam Scales has actually scored against them in his Aberdeen days. There’s no reason why he should fear them.

     

     

    Big big day for Scales, Turnbull and Abada. Can they do better than is expected of them? It is possible.

    Presumably Kyogo will drop sometimes and Daizen or Liel will run the diagonal behind the centre backs.

    Twice we’ve managed to shift the ball from defence and through the middle into attacks on the wings. Once on each side.

    Roofe falls down under first sign of Scales. Free kick them comes to nothing, in fact it comes to Kyogo chasing down again.

     

     

    Scales does well at the back and Calmac almost very cooly turns def in attack.
