  1. Since the 1980s the one thing that determines final league position is money spent on players. The manager has practically no bearing on the success or otherwise of the team. In recent times only Allardyce and Ferguson have bucked this particular trend.

    Quonno,

Whilst there’s easy money to be made?

Unless the fans are complete mugs, there can’t be much of it left.

  3. Snake

    Good to see you back.

You along with many others were right, I was 100% wrong to jump on the Ronny bus, the idea was and is right, just the wrong man to take it on.

Went to game today, god how frustrating was it watching us? Just had the chance to watch again online. surprised watching it a second time and seeing how much we actually created and how little they did after the 1st 45 mins.

1st 45 mins Huns had about 4 chances, same as us really but they took one of theirs we didn’t. After that they had 1 shot at our goal a wonder strike just like the Rogic goal at Killie. We had plenty chances but didn’t take them, that’s football.

Guys saying they played us off the park are talking shite, it was one way traffic but we had convinced ourselves we were unbeatable just like all those that thought we were going to vote for Indy, we reassured each other that the hun was crap and we couldn’t be beaten.

We are all hurting right now but think about that fact, they had 1 shot on our goal in 75mins yet some are saying we were out played, total bollocks.

Best fans in the world my fecking arse, glory hunters booing the team off the park at half time.

It hurts to say this but they supported their team, while we expected a result and were a pale imitation of the support we are supposed to be. I was actually ashamed to be associated with some in our support today.

  5. Would like to see PL, DD, Ronny and playing squad locked in a room and be forced to watch a loop of tonight’s BBC Scotland News, where the lead story was, guess what.

Glutton for punishment watching that twice today, I’m hoping booze will destroy what little brain cells I have left so that I can forget today.

You are sort of right, we were shite, we missed loads of chances, we should’ve won despite not deserving to.

The huns actually played football how it’s meant to be played, hate typing that, but fair play that’s the first hun team I’ve seen that could pass a ball.

And yep no chance our fans are the best in the world, nice tag line, but come on we have good guys and dickheads same as every team in the world.

  7. EDDIEINKIRKMICHAEL on 17TH APRIL 2016 11:38 PM

Eddie, could it have anything to do with the number of times the fans have backed the team to the hilt and been let down.

Said it earlier, it is doubtful if team is hurting as much as fans tonight.

  8. Eddie

Watched it 100 times if u want, we were out played and out fought.. They scored 2 goals in open play.

We scored set piece and a well worked goal.

The better team on the day won and that’s what’s hurting , along with the gutless performance.

  9. Tricoloured Ribbon on

Still can’t get away with balloons forecasting a slaughter of the Huns today.

    They were an absolute cert.

  10. TheTimReaper:

Don’t know what game you were watching, but we were quite simply passed off the park. In fact, at one point, Jim Craig said, “They have had the ball for over 2 minutes.” Many times, they made over 10 consecutive passes- we were lucky if we could make three. They were also missing four players.

We were truly dreadful – Brown couldn’t find a Celtic player to save himself, Bitton, GMS and Johansen were simply shockingly bad.

Clark showed us how to shoot. The so called attempts on goal from us were laughable – either powder puff pass backs to the keeper, balloons way over the bar, or sitters into the side net. The long and the short of it is that we have absolutely no one who can hit a shot with the velocity and timing of a Commons. The free kicks by Mulgrew and Griffiths ( with one exception) were absolutely abysmal.

Make no mistake – there is something awry with this team. Sevco had a plan for every corner, and unerringly found a player with every throw in. Contrast that with Michael Lustig despairingly looking for a Celtic player with a throw in in the second half. No one moved towards him, no one wanted it, no one wanted the responsibility. Deadly sign of poor morale, and a beaten team.

Sevco had a recognizable structure, a pattern to their play ( get the ball wide, and attack the full backs, especially Lustig, but also Tierney). I defy anyone to tell me what our pattern was supposed to be.

I can’t remember being so overwhelmingly disgusted with a Celtic team in over 50 years.

I haven’t read back, but I do remember Neganon’s comments from a few days ago. I rarely agree with him, but he absolutely nailed it this time. As for those who confidently predicted 4-0 or 5-0 against the lower league team, and that they would struggle to get in the top 6 next season, maybe it’s time to think again.

    Proudbhoy.

Your post begs the question why, after the five years THEY have been through are THEY a better team than us.

  12. EddieM

Totally agree with your post. They had few chances, we had a lot more and muffed them. Booing at half time was totally out of order.

Anyway, goodbye Ronnie and both Johns

  13. eddieinkirkmichael,

    That midfield was dreadful.

They can’t possibly be played again.

Get the New guys in Ronny, Pronto.

Win the League in style and show up the underminers @ the Heart of Celtic.

Kieran and Erik were superb, Charlie at least went through more than the emotions today.

I really felt for young Paddy, a bad miss but the whole thing was mean’t to happen.

Defo End Times, keep doing good dude.

An age old story. Too many Celts gabbing with their mouths while THEY did THEIR talking with THEIR feet.

Could half time booing indicate that the fans had an exhibition of shite too many thrown at them this season?

  17. CultsBhoy can not relate to Celtic Board ambitions on or off the park on

    EddieKirkmichael

I watched the game on TV so different from being there. I agree we were not played off the park, however I feel they deserved their win.

    However that’s splitting hairs.

We seriously underperformed today. You are spot on re Sevco fans are supporting their team. They are supporting a unified approach from Lying King down. They have been unified by adversity and a common cause. They have also been courted by the Sevco hierarchy.

Our club is treats the support like keech. They get away with it while we win but today was a day of reckoning.

  18. I’ve always thought those who post on here about 3-4 nil wins before every Celtic game away from home or in the cup were sort of doing it as a joke?? No fan that’s has watched us for the last 30 years ever thinks we won’t fuck it up

  19. Tricoloured Ribbon on

A 36 year old Kenny Miller-booted out the door by Lawwell when the guy was most definitely improving- rag dolling Boyata all over the shop in the first ten minutes.

    …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

M8, they played very well. They played football from the back, always trying to build from the back.

They played triangles everywhere but our midfield were not even at the races, they haven’t been all season because they hate Ronny/Johnny.

    Something has to happen.

Hopefully a whole PROPER midfield for RC.

  21. EDDIEINKIRKMICHAEL on 17TH APRIL 2016 11:38 PM

Just to make it clear, they did PASS US OFF THE PARK for most of the game. We could not string more than 3 passes together! Our midfield was over run. They were fitter and kept the ball on the deck. We did not. Am a Celtic mhan for more than 50 years but, got to say, watching the game with my son and 3 neebs here in Germany, we were deservedly beaten. Bring on the KoKs.

  22. INIQUITOUSIV on 17TH APRIL 2016 11:46 PM

You make some valid points there, but like i said we weren’t passed off the park. They created only two clear cut chances, both in the first 15 mins. Stringing a few passes in defence doesn’t count as passing off the park. Both teams were awful in reality. You are praising a team that couldn’t create a single chance in 100 minutes of football.

  23. CULTSBHOY CAN NOT RELATE TO CELTIC BOARD AMBITIONS ON OR OFF THE PARK on 17TH APRIL 2016 11:51 PMOur club is treats the support like keech. They get away with it while we win but today was a day of reckoning.

Just about sums it all up.

  24. Passed off the park my a***.

Aside from being a wonderful player, what are Henrik’s credentials as a Manager?

  25. Snake Plissken on

    THE EXILED TIM

Nice to talk to you again.

The Celtic manager needs to understand what it takes to be Celtic manager very quickly and/or adapt quickly. RD has never done that nor been able to.

Whether he is a nice man or not is not my concern. I’ll never be in his company so I’ll never really know.

You need someone with experience, authority, passion and desire and a will to win or a combination of at least two of those things, not someone who divides fans and repeats the same talking points after every bad result and then doesn’t act on it.

Deila has proved over and over he is incapable or unwilling to change. If you don’t understand horses for courses you cannot be Celtic manager. Here it is about winning no matter the cost.

Having a philosophy on how to play the game is fine and dandy but not if it is detrimental to your team winning.

Mowbray was the same and he was a disaster as well.

You just get a feeling from the get go and he never convinced me.

What frustrates me is it took a defeat to today’s opponents for some people to see what was right in front of their noses.

Defeats to Legia, Maribor, Malmo, Molde, ICT, Ross County. Hamilton, and anyone else you care to mention were as bad but people let those games slide.

The only good thing that can out of this is their removal and more importantly an actual plan on how to go forward from here.

  26. Always thought it impossible.

Present Board beginning to make the Kellys and Whites seem the epitome of competent.

Away with the lot of them.

    Chantie Wrasslers one and all.

  27. My Dad’s a negative so and so, tough to watch Celtic with him and we’ve watched the hoops more times together than probably any other thing/activity in life :O) So today was oh so tough in so many ways.

I’m hoping the booze would’ve numbed the pain but I aint getting drunk which is another type of worry :O)

Only positive I can take from today is that we slept walked into that performance today, it’s became to easy for us, so now the big guy in the sky who owns us will wake up/panic that big decisions are needed. Ergo leading to an improvement in the team.

    Let me dream baby

If I was heartless or sensible I’d always bet against Celtic in crunch games, people like to call Hibs bottlers but there can’t be a team in the world thats been handed as many trophy opportunity’s as us and still blown it so so many times.

We should have at least 15-20 more trinkets than we do.

  32. Eddie

Is this another example of you reap what you sow.

Maybe the fact that a lot of the diehards would not go and tickets were sold to old firm fans who thought they were going to taunt sevco fans didn’t help.
