Lawwell is the executive director.
He carries out Board policy.
THAT`S his job.
He does what the Board tells him to do.
Do you seriously imagine that D.D. and the other corporate high fliers we have on our Board act according to P.L.`s wishes ?
Seriously ?
That`s not the way the world works.
P.L. is no more than a convenient scapegoat .

Yes me. I remember Lenny’s team having the league in the bag only to lose to St J in an away game and handing the league to The Myth. He never gave youth a chance and to be honest his teams bored me but I went along because I support Celtic. I was glad when he decided to leave.

They wanted it more and it meant more to them than some of our players.
They never put Celtic under intense pressure and frequently failed to put the ball into the box from corners, fre kicks or open play.
They had a shape and stuck to it.
Celtic were a shambles without co-ordination for long spells.
I never felt they played better than Celtic for any significant period of time but like all the teams who beat us they took their chances when they came and profited from our poor decision making.

All this talk about they were no better than us – bottom line, and history will reflect only this – we were beaten. Not only beaten, but beaten by a lower league side that did not have enough players to fill their bench.
A Sevco supporter on SFM has just posted that what he learned from today’s game was that Celtic seemed to have enough to post a credible challenge to them next season.
If that is not a wake up call to the Celtic Board, I don’t know what is!
Real Madrid once fired a manager immediately he won La Liga because they thought the performances, particularly in Cup competitions, were inadequate.

My understanding is there are only two paid board members
Peter Lawell has a remit from DD. Zero debt. How he goes about it is totally up to him
He has chosen the easy route Sponsorship. Season ticket money and sell one player a year for big bucks
Worked for him 100% bonus intact

I don’t comment much these days. Suffice to say that my love of Celtic has been seriously undermined by the destruction of sport in general by multi national corporations who toy with our tribal emotions in order to sell us products we don’t need. That been said, our defeat today was inevitable. We have misused the last four years to balance books with a boring, selfcontented, style of “football” that regards skill and courage as relics of a bygone age. Rangers died, but the spirit of the hun will always be with us. Their manager was far superiour to ours. Their poise was far superior to ours. We were headless chickens. They played football. Their lack of penetration saved our blushes. Top class football now lies in Spain, Germany, and God help us, England. Capitalism has destroyed the beautiful game. But what we do ?

The feeling from myself and others who have watched Celtic this season were not surprised by that shite today. It was in the post.Outplayed, outclassed, out thought.and then some.
Hail Hail fella, hope ye don’t mind but I’ve selected your post as a reflection of the realization that is now starting to descend on Timdom.
Ye see, Celtic were playing the huns yesterday but, we were not playing any mibbery-assisted-cheating-dirty-animals like for example…
John Greig
Tam Forsyth
Alex MacDonald
Richard Gough
Sleekit
Hately
Lafferty
Naismith
etc…..
No, none of that.
Maybe the only reptile on display was Halliday who, fouled from the 1st whistle until he was eventually booked with 2 mins of extra time remaining.
That apart, Ronny’s Celtic come up against a team who were, well drilled, organized and moulded into a unit by a manager who has been cheaply derided on here by the conceited cliquey types who’s slanted versions of Celtic FC are about to ripped asunder in front of they’re eye’s.
I wonder who they’ll be preaching to this morning ?
Who knows…..maybe Mark Warburton has been sent by the angels up above to, waken the lazy-comfort-zone-Johnny-come-lately-types of Celtic supporters that you’ll find at Celtic Park today, from they’re conceited-mis-guided idea’s that, Rangers will never be back ?
Furthermore, I think that the cheating huns that we have been used to seeing on the pitch for all these long, trying years….might not be back….under Warburton’s watch.
Seems to me like, Rangers have pulled a rabbit oot of the hat wi this guy.
As for the Celtic…..further medicine might be required.
If that means that we lose the SPFL title to knock down then, rebuild Celtic, a Celtic to be structured without a PLC board well, that could be the dream that we thought we were getting all those long years ago when we all thought that, “…..the rebels had won.”
Don’t be sidetracked by all the short sighted nonsense when, plastic commanders will try to remind us that – there’s a title to be won – the recapturing of, Celtic’s soul would be a far bigger and much more important prize….dontcha think ?
