We have 5 competitive games before the first European qualifier.

I hope it is a Champions League qualifier.

I wish our staff were sent out today into public works to face what the vast majority of us will be faced with when we arrive at work today.

    Unforgivable.

  2. “However, it is understood that the Glasgow club will now concentrate on retaining the Scottish Premiership title with Deila in charge”

Read – we are guessing the same as you. Pointless comment

  3. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Deila has no mental fibre. He has lost just about every single pressure game he has managed Celtic in. He installs that absolute lack of belief and conviction in his team. Look at Boyata’s arse collapse yesterday. Scott Broon too. Nae bottle in the team from manager down.

But I won’t be satisfied with Deila’s head. Fat cat Lawwell’s willingness to see how pish he can make our team and still win has brought us so low it equates to an act of corporate negligence. We sceptics have said all along that Deila is Lawwell’s patsy.

Deila is a LOSER. Lawwell is a FRAUD.

Good Morning Bhoys I am still hurting we have to many Celtic players who are just not big game players when a big game does come along they are posted missing no need for names you know who they are. Ronny as we all know is a nice guy but that doesnt cut it in football management you need much more than that. I liked Ronnys vision when he came into the club get the players fitter and play a pressing game while bringing on our younger players unfortunately his vision has not materialised. Instead we have a team who dont look fit and find it difficult to pass the ball to one and other and play at almost walking pace. What is the one man up front all about we need in Scotland to have a real go at teams and to play Celtic type football. H.H.

  5. ....PFayr ..SACK THE BOARD on

Deila deserves to see the season out … Why????

Because we are nice mannerly folk ?

He deserves to be sacked ….not just for yesterday …he didn’t deserve the job in the first place ….didn’t deserve to keep it after his first European embarrassment in 2014 and has consistently failed since

So we give him the season ….cause he deserves it … What for ?… To see if he can make an ever greater balls of it

Get rid now ….secure the league ….then concentrate on hounding Lawwell and his failed moneyball principle to feck out the place

they didn’t pass us off the park, watch it again. They couldn’t get past our midfield after the 1st 45mins. They had 1 attack where they did a wonder strike, apart from that we took the ball off them with ease when they ventured into our finale 3rd of the field. Apart from their second goal give me 1, just 1 example of where they created any meaningful chance after the

    ——————————————————

You’re right for the amount of posession they created almost nothing & solely on chances created we should have won the game yesterday, but here’s the thing. It doesn’t matter who we play whether it’s East Kilbride or a decent European side our ball retention is a disgrace. Yesterday this was magnified as Warburton has assembled a team for pennies who can pass, move & control a football. It’s not rocket science but this is something we seem unable to do at any level of football. Just when was the last time we passed & destroyed a team, any team?

Where we once had footballing centre halfs in Van Dijk, Denayer & even Efe we now have poor distribution from the back. Our midfielders Bitton aside seem to have difficulty finding a hooped jersey. How many times did Brown & Johansen give it away yesterday or on any day for that matter? This plus a striker in Griffiths who’s only trick is to get the ball onto his left foot & shoot or aimlessly smash it in the direction he’s facing makes us a very limited football team.

While 2012 created next to nothing yesterday & carried a huge amount of luck they exposed our many deficiencies for even the most blind sighted to see. Whether it’s poor tactics from the manager, inadequate players or both it’s just not good enough at any level. For many the product on the pitch is a result of the ineptitude in our boardroom. Major changes have to be delivered from top to bottom. Our downsizing has crippled us on the park & the boards complicitness is crippling us off it. Maybe just maybe 2012 did us a huge favour yesterday & change will now come, though that’s probably just wishful thinking. HH!

Boyata was subbed for being timid and crap

For the very reasons he shouldn’t have been signed …never mind selected

As for Bitton …..the darling of the CQN happy clappers …tried to get himself subbed by feigning injury until he realised we’d used all our subs …imposter

Me jungle 5.18pm yesterday: only started to read back (from page36) so have just read your comment. A BIG RIDDY RIGHT ENOUGH!! Agree RD needs to go but still wouldn’t have your man. Was at the game and despaired of his inability to see early doors that a good few players out there were shitting themselves in case they made a mistake. The main mistake was nae heart in that lot other than KT and ER . Almost lost my happy clapper feeling and I have still to go to the golf today. Bet our players won’t be out facing the medicine!

  9. Please no. Lennon.lambert.Moyes.lambert ffs couldn’t cut it at Livingston. Aston Villa.struggling at Blackburn. There are 3 Young managers in the S P L.McIntyre up in Dingwall. Hughes at Inverness. and Hartley at Dundee.. Another non contender Stubbs.he is worse than Ronny. Brendan Rogers would be a good shout.also Simonette at Athelitico Madrid. But Lambert Moyes. Lennon. The defence did ok when Sviatchenko came on …thought he ,Mulgrew and Teirney were decent

The rest were as crap as Brown

How GMS played 70 mins is beyond me …

  12. Joe Filippis Haircut on

We have had a few seasons of Jelly and ice cream while laughing at the tribute act on CQN alone thousands of words have been written about the demise of the Ibrokes club in fact probably more has been written about them than about Celtic many seemed to be obsessed by them and some have said it will be years before they will be a challenge to the hoops.Well yesterday was a rude awakening for us with a half decent manager and a team of free transfer men and loanees they dumped us out of the Scottish cup.Now we have laughed at there fans for those years so if we meet there fans on the street or in our work place and they want to rub our noses in it I suggest we just smile and suck it up we are not that good and now have another challenger along with Aberdeen and Hearts. H.H.

  13. PF…..

The reason GMS played 70mins is the same reason as to why Brown, Johansen and Biton all remained on the park. We have no strength on the bench. We have such a depleted squad that these guys are as good as it gets.

And that, sadly, is only going to get worse.

  14. JJ, All is well other than the Club.

Root and branch reform needed for me.

Disfunctional in so many ways in so many departments.

It took me a while to admit it to myself, but a cold hard look at it now it seems obvious.

No communication, no leadership, on or off the field, no coaching, no game plan, no standing up for ourselves, or the fans, no transparency, a total lack of honesty.

I am sick to death hearing about behind the scenes work, closed door discussions.

They want my money, they are going to have to show me why I should pay and what I am paying for.

If those in charge don’t know this, can’t see it, they need to remove themselves and let others take a fresh look.

Sorry, I seem to have gone off on one there.

    Off to London.

  15. Chris

Which brings me to John Park. Another imposter by the look of things, if indeed he is sourcing these duds. If he’s not, what’s he being paid for?

  16. Re Boyata & yesterday

He clearly was having a ‘mare and it looks like he opted for the easy option.

He is soft, our entire team are soft, our management team are soft…….the whole philosophy is soft.

I know it is an unfair comparison, but in the O’Neill era our team was physically capable at all times. His philosophy was 1) never be physically bettered then 2) play to win at all costs then 3) have people drilled to know EXACTLY what their role is, and 4) play effective football, but not necessarily always silky football. We lapped it up, all of us. He also had financially doped competition.

I know that has gone, and football has moved on, but presently we are inferior physically, winning mentality appears to be optional especially in big games, people DONT know their roles and lastly, our very fixed formation is designed to be attacking and flamboyant…….so, why isn’t it? Yes in Deila’s defence, put Larsson in there and things might change, put Lambert in there and our defence would be more protected. But overall we are being well short-changed.

What happens now? Well ultimately the £££ will dictate because season tickets are to be sold. So, there is absolutely no chance Deila will survive, but the question is now or season end? I think season ticket renewals are out in the next two weeks……..so, I think they will act now. Interesting couple of weeks.

While massively peeved about yesterday, am I surprised? Nope. Not in the slightest. A succession of capitulations to ‘poorer’ opposition have happened over the last 18 months.

  17. Heard and read from many people that Sviatchenko should be the new captain. No arguments from me on that. Him and Tierney should guts while others wilted.

Unfortunately Sevco had bucket loads of guts and desire yesterday. We had a few polystyrene cups of it and one of those cups was a bit leaky…

We need a manager who will make sure that we can only ever be out-played but never out-fought.

  18. So what will the season book prices be next year? Up £50 to honour the introduction of a new team? Down £50 as an incentive? Status quo?

    I’m guessing at an increase.

  19. theglasgowcelticway on

There are players there who can do a job. Replace the manager and Celtic will win the league for the next few years, don’t? and god knows what will happen. Newco played well with a big help from us but never really looked like seriously cutting us open after the goal. That goal is what happens when you concede the midfield . A deflection or a bad break of the ball can go against you. The second goal was probably the only way they were going to score. There were a lot of posters on here a few weeks ago who thought our performance against hearts was impressive. Personally I was concerned with the ease they out passed us in that first half, walked round us at times with 1-2s. When I saw the team for yesterday that was exactly my fear and sure enough it happened. As I said yesterday, give myself and most of the posters on here a blank team sheet and we’d have picked a team which would have won the game. The fact our manager didn’t see that coming should be his final big test as our manager.

  20. On yesterday’s pre match feature with Broonie, did you notice his comment re the Diouf match? He spoke about how the managers attitude and tactics got them through those kinds of games, and specifically referred to being allowed to socialise and bond off the field. A thinly veiled dig at current policy in my opinion , and perhaps indicative that his previous comment about WGS being the best manager he’s had was perhaps another!

  21. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Well the early morning news appears to be saying Celtic will keep faith with Ronny at least until the end of the season. I think it would be better to bring in a new manager asap give him the last few weeks of the season to get to know the players and who he wants to move on. H.H.

  22. Perspective…… a game of football against a team most of us don’t want to go and watch ,dont want their support anywhere near ours, competitions run by people who hate us , and would see us cheated …thousands of words moaning and mumping how he’s not good enough ,the manager needs to go ,lawell needs To go…..

And not a word about this

When the boys come of age they are shipped out to the army where they don’t get paid but they do get shot at. When the girls come of age the streets are all that await them.

  23. Don’t feel any better today . At least I don’t have to face Hun workmates . When Ronny goes as he surely must . Let’s pray we get it right this time . As I posted last night , celtic must search out and pay top dollar for the best available . As I see it if PL is getting the wage many say he is . Then in my opinion I may be wrong but I view a top coach /manager to be just as important to a football club . Celtic have had managers come and go , some with varying degrees of success . But now something more is required to lift the club out of this mess . I urge those in charge no more stop gap trial coaches . Search out the top guy available who has a track record and who will come .,I’m not talking the guy at Munich , or Barcelona .but there are good coaches out there making a name for themselves in the game , .scout these guys out , pay the going rate ,and leave the guy sole responsibility for the team including ins and outs . All these fellow fans calling for moyes , Lennon , McIntyre , good god give us piece . We need sorted and sorted quickly . Europe qualifiers await no more disasters .

  24. Haven’t seen any footage and didn’t listen to the game.

Was travelling to Liverpool as match was being played for the funeral today of a dear friend who decided that despite having a wife and two kids life was just too much for him so my usual match day perspective re-tuned and thinking of matters way more important.

However spoke to my two sons who were in the expensive seats.

At half time my eldest said he’d bite his hand off just for a chance of penalties. That’s how bad he thought we were.

The PR miss was, in his view, astonishing.

The Hun fans in the seats beside him were giving it all – their usual bile – this was two rows behind PL & Co.

Yep, Peter, you listened to that bile and through your gross mismanagement allowed them to prevail on a shoestring. Who’s the Lying King today?

Won’t be back at CP for our last three game but will be included in official attendance. ST for next season? No chance.

Our club needs an massive clearout from top to bottom. Without that we’re all wasting our time

He seems to be escaping the criticism.

Another chancer, but a pal of Lawwell so all is good eh?

What an utter disaster of a club we are.

Won’t be long till we get the old “There’s a league to be won so we all must pull together to get us over the line.”

  26. Theglasgowcelticway

We have seen teams expose our defence all season. JK I guess has to be partly responsible but the fact of the matter is our defenders , on the whole, are poor. Not convinced any manager/coach would improve it with the current personnel

  27. Allyhuntersgloves on

Don’t post often but working from home and need to discuss this with Celtic people. I sat (well stood as nobody sat) in the North Stand yesterday and watched that humiliation, and it was……… How can we tactically set up to hold (give them possession) and play on the break against a bunch of free transfers. Why does anyone think that would be a good tactic in that type of game, he obviously doesn’t get what it’s all about, you don’t show weakness.

We have players who are way off form, but this was all about the manager, set-up, tactics, player picks, and motivation. The management team have shown nothing this season, Europe was embarrassing, the fans are not mugs and many have deserted this team, semi final performances gutless against tosh teams, we have a weak mentality, bottle is a huge issue. We had the chances, we couldn’t execute. We have a team full of cowards.

    So player by player

Gordon, surprised me he saved a penalty as his penalty record is incredibly bad, got a hand to one but it still went in, but overall was ok.

Lustig, They targeted him and Roberts as our week point and they were correct, Roberts hardly tracked back and Lustig gave them too much room. He’s now fit, but he’s awful, weak, non-aggressive, awful

Tierney, shining light a 17 year old boy showing the back 4 how to play against them.

Boyatta, where do you start with this coward, he has shown he’s not a centre half able to play in our league for months, got turned inside out, he bottled it big time, happiest man at Hampden when hooked.

Mulgrew, Charlie’s best position is Centre Half, he played ok

Biton, Coward, Coward, Coward, that carry on in extra time when he wanted to come off and leave us with 10 men, then when he got told no, miraculous recovery, get him hunted !

Brown, Great in the dressing room ! awful on the park. I think he passed to them almost all of the first half, and most of the second. He is awful, finished for us and needs dropped.

GMS, nice wee boy, that’s it, failed at every big team, not got the mentality, rightly hooked

Roberts, great footy player but another wee boy, try hitting the by-line Patrick, you don’t have to turn inside every time, and that open goal miss for a £13m player, he has a lot to learn which is why Man City shipped him out.

Johansen, I thought he had a good spell for about 20 mins at start of second half, other than that same old stuff.

Griffiths, no service but seemed to be trying too hard shot from 30 yards, desperate stuff.

Sviatchenko, imperious, why didn’t he start ?

Rogic, our best player (penalty aside) why didn’t he start?

    McGregor, made no impact.

This management team is so far out its depth and has been for a long time. I have said on here before I am worried about the league, if we lose to Ross County on Sunday we could lose it (Aberdeen will most likely beat us and Hearts may, we haven’t won a big game all season). I am angrier with PL and the board for their inertia. I have heard this nonsense we have a league to win leave him until the end of the season. (1) I am not convinced this board will sack him and (2) does anyone think keeping him here will be the difference of us winning this league and blowing it, I say the opposite, I don’t know if I can face seeing him in the dug out again…………..

  28. Big clubs don’t hang around when things aren’t working. Real Madrid – in many ways the biggest of the lot – once fired a manager after he’d won the European Cup because the fans felt the style of play wasn’t entertaining enough.

I know we’re not Madrid, but sticking with Ronny will be the clearest sign yet that mediocrity is accepted within Celtic Park.
