In my opinion we need a manager who can organise a team and who commands respect from the players we have a big squad and we need to trim it down and get rid of the deadwood. We require to bring a couple of quality players in I personaly think we should go for Moyes but we do need to get it right. H.H.

South of Tunis, I picked on Steve McAhill (I could have chosen many many CBs – Although Boyatta is the worse). I remember being at a reserve game at Parkhead against them, (in the days where, if you couldn’t get a ticket for Ibrox you went to the reserve game), he had a mare and I shouted words to that effect as he came off, he gave me the vicky, so he has stuck in my memory banks…………………

If Ronny wins the league we will be giving the trolls the ammunition to bleat about getting rid of a three in a row winning manager, only done twice before in our history blah blah blah

It’s a pointless comparison though. What’s the wage bill? That’d be more realistic.

Seriously though was Barca Quick News awash with this kind of thing after we beat them? I suspect it was, but you get the point.

    Not even me.

After yesterday, I asked myself if I’d react the same way if it had been eg Hibs. And the answer is yes. His biggest fault imo, is that he underestimates teams and he hasn’t learned from it. So my feeling his time is up is based on that. Absolutely nothing to do with it being TRFC.

    Do the honourable thing Ronnie

Most teams that play 1 up front have a strong midfield because of it- we have the opposite —Gms is so bad… 1 good game in 10 and we kept him on the pitch?

BRing back Henke and dolph mjallby although PL will go for Eric black!!

  7. cults

Celtic are judged on European competition only until they get beaten at home,

    by a lower league outfit.

Nobody can deny yesterday was a watershed moment.

  8. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

When was it Ronny brought in another tranche of Norwegian back room staff ?

    It was recently, no ?

  9. Joe Filippis Haircut on

I think PL will know he has to bring in a half decent manager if he goes for somone who is untried or somone like Eric Black he must know that gates at Parkhead are only likely to be around 20000 the new manager who ever he is needs to excite the support. H.H.

    Morning Celts

Yesterday has been a long time coming.

More than a few myths have been shattered.

It comes down to this…..If we want to see a real Celtic team, we are going to have to fight for it.

If you want to see and end to RD and PL….there is only one way to effect change.

Refuse to buy into it….until RD and PL are gone.

The only mechanisms of power Celtic supporters have, is their ability to withhold funds, and to vote with their feet.

The alternative does not bear thinking about…..years of hun domination, and a Celtic PLC run by greedy idiots.

You have the power to enforce change at Celtic Park.

    There is no other way.

Take your club back….or be subject to the whims of Billionaires,Millionaires, and Huns.

    Physios etc? January I think.

Do you think they’re going to tough it out? Interesting.

  12. WEEMINGER

Celtic’s I’d imagine is vastly superior, especially if you factor transfer fees and budget.

    Pointless?…….. but it’s still somehow a Riddy

  13. JOE FILIPPIS HAIRCUT on 18TH APRIL 2016 11:19 AM

I think if we were going to see 20k regularly it’d have happened before now.

Everything about the reaction I’ve seen to yesterday tells me that PL’s gamble on ‘OF fans’ coming back will pay off. I’m sure of it.

  14. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Weeminger,

That’s exactly what I think, I suspect they are hoping there will be enough old firm supporters and useful idiots the negate the impact of people not renewing.

Allegedly,PL stated that our “discontent” will all be forgotten after the first OF game.

It has intensified in the last year, and after yesterday will only get worse.

Yet another example of both his poor judgement, and his contempt for Celtic supporters.

  17. WENTYFIRSTOFMAY1979 on 18TH APRIL 2016 10:59 AM

How did we manage to get to this ?

    ###

Well it hasn’t been easy, but Celtic have achieved it.

A solid Old Firm platform, with a competitive league, will help season book sales for years to come.

Oh the thrill of it all.

  18. I forced myself to watch yesterdays game again hoping to be more analytical and less passionate/ angry in my assessment of the tactics, performance and individual players. Did it work? Feck no, blood pressure soaring, it gets worse the more you watch it. Some oh so obvious conclusions watching and suffering through it again.

Nir Bitton is a very very average footballer with no bottle – should never play for the 1st team again. Charlatan.

Dedryck Boyata conspires to make Effe seem like Franco Baresi. He should never ever be allowed to pull on the hoops again. Another charlatan.

Gary Mackay-Steven – aren’t enough words to adequately describe how bad he was yesterday yet Ronnie kept him on the park for over 70mins?

Leigh Griffiths is not as good as some like to think he is. All too often makes wrong decisions when in possession. Still he is the best forward at the club!

Scott B and Joe Hansen – where did it all go wrong? just bloody awful.

But the absolute worst has to be Ronnie – playing on the break against a championship side, doing heehaw to change things around, leaving 2 Eric and Tommy on the bench. Do the honourable thing and leave with a wee bit of dignity.

Ah well at least we’ll get 8 million for KT during the summer

I suspected it but wasn’t convinced until the recent Hearts game. I’m in 143, I could hear two regulars doing a player by player dissection of their squad.

If current ST holders are paying that much attention to them, it tells me a lot will come back.

  20. canamalar

Very many season ticket holders stayed well clear of Hampden, just like home games, the Celtic support is divisional.

Not sure there are enough useful idiots for Peter until we get better signals of improvement.

For a glimpse of a possible future watch Aston Villa..terrifying what can happen to big clubs if neglect goes unchecked…

  22. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

I’d say it all went down hill after Lenny was constructively dismissed.

He was in danger of scuppering the grand plan by actually building a team that would be miles ahead of the SPFL competition.

I expect his love of the club and the carrot of a return has kept him quiet and compliant.

  23. The Green Man says SACK THE Board on

If we collectively accept this…..then what you saw yesterday….was our future.

    We either fight….or surrender.

Fight or Flight….What’s it to be ?

Do any of you care enough to stand against the PLC?

Or will you continue to fund this abysmal loser strategy?

This is what its coming to….because those who presently Lord it over Celtic supporters, are obviously not for changing anytime soon…..a bit like Thatcher used to be,… coincidence?

I want my club back….I want to see a real Celtic team.

How long does it take Peter and Paul to agree the wording of today’s lead article..?

Another thing concerning about yesterday was Newco created one chance, missed it but scored twice.

  26. Kingoh @10:52

too embarrassed to get out and about today after what I consider to be the most embarrassing result in Celtics history if you consider that the club we were playing yesterday have only been in existence for a couple of years

Anyway if the status quo was to remain the same would it be that unimaginable that Warburton could take Rangers all the way to the premier league title next season with Delia failing to win anything

anyway we are on way to 5 in a row so all is well…….predictions for Sunday another 46,0000 crowd

I see that your prediction for a future CQN article has at least partly come true!

Waking Up and Smelling The Coffee; Sutton

    last section;

“Sutton continued in the same vein, but he won’t get his wish to see the manager removed any time soon.

As CQN have insisted all along, Deila will be there to see through the club’s bid to win a fifth successive league title, starting with the game against Ross County at Parkhead on Sunday.

After that, the champions-elect will play Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday, April 30, then they have a home game against Aberdeen on Sunday, May 8, a trip to St Johnstone the following Wednesday and then the curtain will come down on an eventful – and, hopefully, successful league campaign – with an encounter against Motherwell at Parkhead on Sunday, May 15.

It’s time for the Celtic supporters to rally round the team and cheer them all the way to five-in-a-row.”

  29. I think many of our old firm fans bought into the idea of seeing the newco being on the receiving end of heavy humpings, while they struggled mid table.

For me , i fail to to see how Ronny is still in a job today, every bit as bad as Mowbray’s final shambles against St. Mirren.

As someone said earlier, i will also find it difficult watching this chancer standing on the touchline for the remaining games. Same dud players, same predictable tactics and while I’m at it PL and DD can GTF as well.

  30. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    BSR,

I think yesterday’s crowd proves your contention is wrong there are plenty useful idiots and old firm supporters, I’d imagine there will be a few thousand max ready to give up their season tickets on a point of principal, numbers easily replaced, you’ll also have the lies about big improvements that many usually fall for hook line and sinker.

And finally the peer pressure, the gobshites who blame supporters for “hurting the club” while exonerating the board for the mess we are in, yep, just keep supporting a board who have managed to keep Scottish football competitive, that’s the best way to improve things reward those responsible. The club will survive unless the board want to take it down with them that’s the long and short of it.

  31. Daily lurker, infrequent poster. We have somehow managed to give them all exactly what they want,a club in crisis. Yesterday really has taken the pressure off of them. We really must get the next manager spot on or we are in big trouble. Dressing room needs cleansed of the chancers and frauds that are currently masquerading as Celtic players. I have never really agreed with the thought that you have to be a Celtic man for the job but this time I feel that it needs to be someone with an idea ofwhat the club is about and what it means to us. Not necessarily a heart on the sleeve type but a strong character. In my opinion we really did make them look much better than they are but we can have no complaints about the outcome.

  32. The Green Man says SACK THE Board on

Basically…its a massive two-fingers to the supporters from the rich PLC mob.

    DD…. As Augustus Caesar

PL…like Nero, fiddling while Rome burns.

IB as Claudius….hiding behind a curtain in a Royal Palace

Truly and uttely lost the plot.

    Bankrupt

I ask you, are these the kind of people we want running Celtic?

  33. The Green Man says SACK THE Board on

The Celtic Aristocracy lapping the gravy right up

Basically saying….we do what we like.

    Pay up or shut up.

    Season ticket….or feck off.

  34. From latest CQN Sutton article:

“It’s time for the Celtic supporters to rally round the team and cheer them all the way to five-in-a-row.”

Well, actually it’s time for the team to get their act together and give the Celtic supporters something to cheer about. That might be nice.
