That point has now arrived.

Depressingly so. We both agree that our problems are many, and that many solutions need to be identified. However, we both know only one problem will be addressed (the manager) and the solution probably won’t even be that good.

TheTimReaper, on Thompsons performance yesterday, he did give them a foul every tackle. Not much has been made of his decision to over-rule his linesman for the shy. Now it was on the linesmans side, he was 10 yards away, Thompson was at the centre circle behind the players tackling. If the he had not over-ruled the linesman the goal would not have happened. The question I asked myself is this, why, in a big game like that, would you over-rule your linesman who is right next to the action and not behind it like the referee was? Just why would you?

Personally, I’d write Europe off this season. No manager should be expected to prepare this team for Europe. He should be tasked with winning the league and a cup next season and having a go at 2017 European competition.

Let’s not forget NL was about a half hour away from getting his jotters and even then had a league season that should have seen him go. Rescued only by a delightful home win against Barca (romance of the cup).
The reality is that we the fans have let the board away with it since Strachan left and allowed things like the Barca win blind us to the reality (generally. I’m sure there’s some individual out there that has criticised every manager from the day he was appointed).
We’ll do it again. If a new man comes in and has us flying, ppl will forget. It’s a results business after all.

A cheap option would be to let our MrMotivator take over, he at least has managed and motivated amateurs to a national win and is known for getting rid of people who do not buy into his vision.

That difference was exposed yesterday for all to see.
Could yesterday’s loss be worth it in precipitating another situation where the SFA have to assess Sevco’s legitimacy to a European licence? Would the FFP rules be applied to them by the SFA?
