The prospect of Livingston at home in the Scottish Cup quarter finals (trying to be respectful here, but honestly!), and the anticipation of a trip to Hampden in April, let’s us know how little remains of this season’s work.
We have seven away games in the league. Motherwell, Hearts, Livingston and Newco come before the break. After the split, we will almost certainly to back to St Mirren for a third time this season and Kilmarnock, also for a third time, with the remaining place still up for grabs. Two defeats at Kilmarnock (one in the League Cup), spoil an otherwise perfect away record at the top end of the table grounds.
There is a feeling that as the weeks progress and players return to fitness, the games will get easier. That being the case, Kilmarnock’s visit on Saturday looks like one of the most important games of the season. After St Mirren, we should be rested and ready.

We owe Kilmarnock a good hiding.
I think it’s too much to ask for it to happen Saturday.

TBH they have still got us and Sevco to play this quarter of games. Lose to us both and Dundee with a game in hand could creep closer to them.
The best outcome would be Aberdeen St Mirren and Dundee post split. Trips to Dundee and St Mirren with home games v Hertz Aberdeen and Rangers would be fine if our faithful are in supporting mode.
Rangers visiting Hertz Aberdeen and us is trickier I think.

Great news. This is the sort of quality that will please the anti-Liewell brigade. I would worry if other top Scottish sides such as Aberdeen decide to capitalize on his desire to play in what is now widely recognized as one of the top 20 leagues in the world, the good olde SPL.
Reflecting on A. J’s horrific fractured skull injury against Hibs, it will more than likely keep him out for the rest of the season. It was interesting to note the first time the new smart mouthguard technology was in use in the Scotland/France rugby game when the Scottish player had to leave the field for a HIA. Can see being the future for all contact sports.

Yes, from a purely selfish point of view, no Gers fans at our place is a ‘massive advantage’ [© An Dun] but surely in the spirit of sporting integrity it is anathema to have football matches without away fans and devalues the spectacle.
It’s time this stand-off was brought to an end and if Rangers are offering an olive branch, well they started it, so let’s accept it and get back to real sporting integrity.
