SCOTTISH CUP DRAW: SIX IN, TWO TO GO

CELTIC are planning to take their place among the eight names that go into the Scottish Cup quarter-final draw this afternoon.

First, though, the holders will have to overcome the challenge of St Mirren in Paisley before booking their place in the ballot.

Six teams are already through with Airdrie or Hearts hoping to join the last eight after their tie is settled today following the 5pm kick-off at the Excelsior Stadium.

Second-tier Morton are the only non-Premiership outfit guaranteed a place in the next stage after their 2-1 win over Motherwell at Cappielow on Friday night.

HAMPDEN HOORAYS…Kyogo Furuhashi roars in delight after the 3-1 Scottish Cup Final triumph over Inverness Caley Thistle last season.

Also in the hat are Aberdeen, who beat Bonnyrigg Rose, 2-0 at Pittodrie, Hibs, 3-1 victors over last season’s beaten finalists Inverness Caley Thistle, Kilmarnock, 2-0 winners against Cove Rangers, Livingston, who came back from two goals down to shock Partick Thistle 3-2, and Philippe Clement’s side who defeated Scott Brown’s Ayr United 2-0 at Ibrox.

The ballot will be made live on BBC Scotland between 4.30pm and 5pm.

With no replays, all matches will be settled on the day with extra-time and penalty-kicks, if required.

The draw will also be available live on smartphone, tablet or laptop for free via the BBC iPlayer.

Quarter-final games are scheduled for the weekend of March 9/10.
