Leigh Griffiths has had plenty of uncomplimentary discourse written about him this season, most of it deserved, so it should be recorded that he was the first Hibs player to return applause in the direction of Celtic fans yesterday, closely followed by his team-mates.
This is the way football should be. For too long our game has been poisoned by the unique kind of rivalry you got in Scotland. More of the same, please.
You can contribute to the 1254125 1254125 call to ensure Celtic retain our affinity with our founding cause by buying a raffle ticket for a fabulous framed Celtic top, signed by the equally-fabulous Seville squad. Do it today.
Willie Wallace had a great time signing copies of his Heart of a Lion at Waterstons in East Kilbride and Falkirk this afternoon. East Kilbride was busier but the photos of stock Falkirk (below) before and after tells you all about his day. I hear our most recent treble winning captain came alone for a book at East Kilbride.
We’re at Waterstones, Stirling, on Thursday evening for late night shopping, will confirm times tomorrow. If you can’t make it along you can still order your signed copy below.

One wee tip, the German Pointer has very sensitive hearing, so if he requires reprimanding, it is a good idea to refrain from shouting, apparently they cannot decipher what you are saying. Speaking in a controlled, calm tone worked for us. Remember, we were used to Border Collies in a field. So oor Robbie was a big change. The very beat of luck, and please keep me updated on his and your progress. :))

Crispy duck?
You at the rhyming slang again?
….JUDE2OO5……yes it would be respectful for the o/o to consider leaving from the car park in whifflet….after what happened to the young lad..why pick whifflet is it just to annoy the residents.. .seem to love banging their drums next to catholic churches…is there not a railtrack nearby.

SFTB popped into see us at Waterstones in East Kilbride today at the Willie Wallace book signing- he was on good form and was speaking highly of everyone on the blog and is looking forward to his return in August. Tried to talk him into coming back earlier but no luck there.
Tom Boyd also popped in -there’s a good pic of Tom, Willie and the Big Cup on the CQN Magazine Facebook page.

I don’t think I have had the pleasure of conversing with you so far. But I enjoy your posts, and have been following your situation, and since you were on, I just wanted to wish you well.

Any Kiwi Tims on the blog tonight/ this morning…… ok afternoon :>)
I was wondering if it was a shorter trip going from the UK to NZ via US rather than Europe etc, I remember we had visitors from NZ when I was younger and the US route was their preferred way to travel, they did stop off though so that may have been a factor.
Any info will be gratefully received.

I went doon to OZ from Toronto and It’s way quicker going via LA.
Also there is more exotic destinations for a potential stopover.
No sure but going from the UK – It might be quicker flyin’ over Europe.

Jude 2005— I enjoyed the Paul Carrack track– did he not do a stint with Roxy Music at one point?
Re Johnny Gibson– I watched him quite a few times at Firhill when I would wander up to Maryhill of a Saturday afternoon. Tricky player on the wing but never sure his head was in the right place to make it big.
Had he stuck in and sorted the head then who knows…………

Great to see you yesterday and hope you had a celebratory beverage last night – I know you drove up to the club.
There was a few buckled wheels left at the bar after the BBQ and the Lisbon 67 game on the big screen.
See you in the new season.

Hello lads,
Sorry for ignoring you … was chatting with my neice there…she’s away in uni now, so I get less time with her…they grow up so fast… so, she just skyped in there, and I thought I should take what time she has…
BMCUWP …I figured out the carnoustie/anagram bit … but there is another meaning for that (it shows up in some linguistic sites)…. that was the part that I couldn’t get…. but forgot to ask tony on the weekend.
TAL… it was a pleasure catching up, mate. I definitely need to make a point of getting up for more games… always a nice crowd. Hopefully by the new season, my sister will be in a better place, and she’ll let me bring the boys up again…I know they really enjoy coming up, and even if they drive me crazy some days, I definitely miss watching the games with them.

If ever there was the slightest suggestion of a Masonic link wi ACGR,I suspect his mother would disown him!
But you have made me curious…..
Tonev fee agreed between Poznan and Celtic £2m
Werder bremen to make last ditch offer
If the deal is done between Celtic and Poznan I for one will be delighted.
The team needs another creative player and getting the deal done this early was an absolute priority.

Nothing Masonic… but a rather odd choice of letters… too odd to be random
I’m off to take the ghirl for her evening walk, so I will wish you lads a good evening.

More than a club
By JOHN HARTSON
WHAT’S so special about Celtic? It’s the question I get asked time and again.
No matter where I go in the UK it’s what people want to know.
They ask what separates my old club from the rest.
And I always give the same reply.
There are two reasons, I tell them. The Celtic FANS and the Celtic HISTORY.
Every club has supporters, some better than others, but those who follow Celtic are unique.
There are millions of them dotted all around the world. Most of them haven’t even seen the team play. Most never will.
But if you ask them who they support they’ll say Glasgow Celtic.
The history is the other aspect that sets them apart because of the 1967 European Cup win.
That group of players came together as the first British team to lift the trophy.
No matter what happens in the future that can NEVER be taken away.
It wasn’t just winning it. It was the way it was won.
I love the story that all 11 men were born and brought up within 30 miles of the ground.
When you think about that in today’s context that’s out of this world.
At that time they were so dominant in Scottish football, winning nine titles in a row.
I know that’s been done since, but not by a small group of young homegrown Scots.
I’m just so proud to have had the opportunity to wear the famous green and white hoops.
I wasn’t a supporter growing up. Celtic meant almost nothing to me as a kid.
Even when I signed on the dotted line there was only so much I could have told you.
I knew it was a big club with tradition, but I didn’t know just how much.
Yet almost from the moment I walked through the door I got it. I just got it.
It virtually smacks you between the eyes, the sense of tradition at Celtic Park.
It’s probably there at your Liverpool’s and Manchester United’s of this world.
Sure, those clubs have their history, too. But they can’t recreate what happened at Celtic in European terms because my old club was the FIRST.
At Celtic, too, once you have become part of the club it stays with you forever and a day.
I was lucky enough to score more than 100 goals there. For me that’s the biggest achievement of my playing career, without a shadow of a doubt.
Only 28 players have done it down the years and to think I’m one of them.
I’m telling you now, it means the world to me.
Better players than me have pulled on that hooped shirt. I never claimed to be any world-class talent.
But in terms of putting the ball in the net my record for Celtic is something I’ll cherish as long as I live.
I have a DVD of all my goals and when I’m old I’ll be sitting showing it to my grandkids.
I just feel privileged to have had the chance. Fate smiled on me the day I arrived at Celtic Park.
I think back to the five years I had at the club and it was sensational.
To have played in front of those supporters, hearing them chant my name, was better than anything I could ever have imagined.
Trust me on this, there is nothing like being regarded as a hero by Celtic supporters, because it lasts a lifetime.
They don’t forget you when you’ve moved on.
So when any of them stop me in the street to talk about old times I think it’s great.
I give them my respect because they always give me theirs.
But, as I say, it’s not just Celtic fans from Scotland or Ireland who want to know about Celtic as a football club.
No matter where I go in the world — it can be America, Dubai or anywhere you want to name — I meet someone wearing a strip.
My hometown of Swansea doesn’t have just one Celtic Supporters’ Club. It has THREE.
In this country it’s just a way of life to so many people who are literally born Celtic supporters.
I’ve been in houses where newborn infants are lying in green and white Celtic baby-grows.
Their parents are fans so babies are, too.
I know that’s the same at a lot of clubs with fanatical followers but Celtic is different.
It’s amazing to think it’s 125 years since they played their first competitive game.
For me it was special that the team marked their anniversary by beating Barcelona.
I know two German teams have just faced each other in the Champions League Final.
But the Catalan giants have been the best team on the planet for the last handful of years.
And that’s how I think of Celtic.
