SFA keen to change others while retaining their architect of destruction

1003

SFA chief executive, Stewart Regan, clearly sees opportunity among the carnage that is Scottish football at the moment as he leaked plans to ambush clubs into a radical overhaul of the league structures to the media yesterday.

Henry McLeish made several recommendations in his paper on the future of our game, one of which was for a smaller professional setup of two leagues (SPL 1 and SPL 2), sitting on top of a grass-roots pyramid of community based clubs, as well as a 10-team top division.  I agreed with both recommendations but relegation-dodgers in the SPL refused to countenance such a deal.

While it seems a 10-club top division is as far away as ever, the SFA are keen to push through a SPL 2 proposal before the start of the new season, something which borders on ultra-ambitious.

An unattributed SFA source (surely Regan himself) briefed BBC’s Jim Spence on their plans but the language was curious:

“Someone has to take a lead and sort out the internal bickering and point scoring and also to ensure that the Rangers situation never happens again.

“We need to use the mood for change among supporters in the country to tackle the current inertia and do what is right for the game.

“Change has to be democratic, but the time for talking has passed. We need action now to save the game.

“The fans are demanding fundamental change. The Rangers situation has intensified the need for a resolution and, over the next few weeks, we will meet with the SPL and SFL to find a solution.”

In order to “ensure the Rangers situation never happens again”, why don’t the SFA start by ensuring former directors of Rangers, who participated in the controversial EBT scheme which precipitated the crisis, are removed from the SFA board?

The SFA president received loans from Rangers EBT which he did not repay despite the club going bust last week.  There is a belief that those loans were never meant to be repaid and that many of Rangers EBT loans were accompanied by written confirmation that they were never to be repaid, making these ‘loans’ an illegal tax scam.

The SFA chief executive claimed to have investigated and cleared the president of any wrong-doing.  No one else is aware of this investigation.  There is a suspicion that all he did was listen to the president’s version of events, compounding an already dreadful situation for the SFA.

We would love to hear how Mr Ogilvie explained why he didn’t repay his loan.

Two weeks ago we spoke about the SFAs inadequate corporate governance on these matters.  If only corporate governance was the extent of the problem, they appear quite shameless.

“Someone has to take the lead…. tackle the current inertia and do what is right for the game”.

Sack the clown before you start to preach to the rest of the game.

Between greens mob and now the bold wallies mob, which one is the judean peoples front and which one is the peoples front of judea.

  2. Wouldn’t it be great if fans of all SPL teams went and renewed their tickets once TRFC are denied entry to the SPL, possibly even surpassing previous numbers due to a new found appetite now the cheats have been seen off , this would more than make up for a slightly reduced money from Sky.

What a chance to clean up the game and give others a chance, but will they take it?

I’ve renewed anyhow and the feeling I’m getting is that Celtic fans are renewing in bigger numbers than most clubs, hopefully once it’s confirmed who club 12 is they’ll get more renewals and we can get on with the business of a league/CL campaign.

I spent a few hours this evening with my brother in the Old Kilpatrick hills.

The weather was mixed, but we had the right gear on.

Looking out over Glasgow from the ridge is amazing, a million souls stretched out before us, bathed in different light, and sometimes in hazy rain.

Watching the planes coming down, full of sunburn hungover people.

The forestry commission have bought loads of land up there, and have planted a new forest of native trees. They will grow from their wee saplings today, to strong vibrant trees that I will admire in my seventies.

As you walk in the hills, all problems, hangovers, stresses, melt away.

You instead have the sun, the wind, the rain on your face, and beauty all around.

How many people did we pass in the hours that we walked this paradise on the edge of our great city?

    None.

And I’m kinda sad about that.

Not sure why they would interpret it that there is no more OF.

The powers that be can promote what they like I think the time for that is passed, their next move is being watched further afield than Scotland and MSM.

club12 cannot =huns as they do not exist they haven’t even re-applied to the SPL yet due to a technicality .

You have the conceptual difficulty that many Tims have. The company is liquidated. True. Hopefully its legacy will lead to jail sentences and expunging of records. The football club however can call itself whatever it wants.

Things I hate most about Celtic supporters

    1. The ones that loathe WGS

    2. The ones that booed Fergus

    3. The ones that fund hunnery

    4. The ones that want to see huns in the SPL next season so Celtic can gub them 10-0

    5. The ones that think Celtic are Irish….

I don’t think there will be a vote at SPL meeting tomorrow.

The meeting is about the clubs scrambling about trying to sort out a mess (company formerly known as RFC now liquidated) according to the rules , when the rules aren’t actually in place to deal with this scenario or are too complicated or vague for them to follow.

I understand the new club has a right to call itself what it wants, but what they can carry in terms of history to the new company is debatable .

They’ll be division 3 this season (and lucky to be there) unless the SFA go for restructuring in which case many fans of other clubs are still going to be raging and if that happens fans of RFC(IL) may well get their way and drag much of Scottish football to hell with them .

Capitalism is an astonishing belief prevalent that the most selfish of men will do the most wickedest of things for the greatest good of everyone and that poor peoples plight is their own fault. Its a globally meeja perpetrated lie gobbled up by most who watch TV. TV news is aimed at the youtube visually stunned 75% genitally obsessed “adolescent” majority which is all you need in a democracy. Same goes for the global football lie. All the old farts getting fat and obscene on young blood. FIFA, UEFA, SFA, SPL etc

Bottom line is, that it is the money from the driveldom Tims that these Scottish cheating football institutions all depend on to maintain the paradigms that their livelihoods are based to continue(Not). Lets wait and see what happens.
