SFL is over but still busy times

921

The Scottish Football League programme is now finished with only play-offs still to complete but there is still a great deal of business to complete.  The remarkable persistence of First Division clubs to find a financial model which will allow them to retain full time football shows no sign of ending, despite the difficulties presented from a couple of quarters.

Meanwhile the Third Division champions have even more pressing matters.  They have now finished their league programme and can now officially be told what they have perhaps unofficially suspected for some weeks.  Charles Green has agreed to remain a director until the end of this month.  Before he goes the ownership of Ibrox, as well as the appropriateness of the club’s IPO in December, will need to be established.  They have a three week window but nothing happens until the lawyers report, which I expect this week.

It was two years ago today Sir David Murray took a £1 payment and relieved himself of outstanding commitments to Lloyds Banking Group, the legacy of his time at Rangers.  The support Craig Whyte received at critical times in the months which followed was breath-taking.  Every hack, side-kick, and numpty ‘fan’ who told the rest to set aside all common sense deserve a medal for what they did to that club.

They don’t even understand the mock-worship Celtic fans offer Whyte is a parody on where they were 2011-12.

He loves wee Ally because he’s done a lot of charity work for his daughter, in other words he won’t bring him down on ssb, he shouldn’t be on the show then.

  2. Wonder what ASA or @ScotCharityReg

make of an advert for a charity match in which a private company creams off 73% of the takings?

    Via twitter.

  3. TET, exactly, hope to see some authority take this situation and assert some authority on it.

Not from within the authorities of Scottish football unfortunately.

It is run for one club, the aim of that club was to stop our success, they lost.

They are now scrabbling around to promote Newco is Oldco, then it will be a Rangers the Third.

The lady (maggie fae shawlands) made a pretty reasonable point about the awards ceremony last night and shug tried to twist her words around to something approaching a conspiracy theory, she then gave the bold shug what for. This was then followed by another female Morton fan who complained that although her club was in a higher league, why did she have to listen non stop about some obscure deed football in the 3rd division.

    Re: McCarthy

I take the point but in the boy’s shoes I would have been inclined to play guaranteed first team at Wigan rather than sit in our development squad.

If any of us are being honest, and it was our kids involved, we would’ve done the same

I have always thought that we have the oldest youngsters in football

Problem is Sid Lowe does comparisons on BIG leagues – EPL/ La Liga/ Bundesliga. This is a quote from his article:

Since 2004, 19 of 42 first and second division clubs have been through the ley concursal, Spain’s equivalent of administration. Administrators have turned up hidden contracts, exorbitant commissions, players going unpaid, and fictitious payments. Clubs were easy game for speculators and shady characters.

  7. So true we classed McCarthy as a youngster, backup, whereas he went to Wigan and played every game. Something very wrong with our youth set up.

Maggie came on & casually remarked about how she had been to an awards bash & how the cardigan had been selected as manager of the year? she then went on to say it had been awarded prematurely, as wee gordie had went on & won the spl for the first time that year.keevins then started his rant about west of Scotland mentality/paranoia, Maggie said she hadn’t made any such inference & it was him that had brought this into the agenda, he then repeated his earlier faux pas & Maggie reminded him she hadn’t been the one who brought this up, he stuttered & squirmed again. then waited until she had gone off air, before calling her! said “SHE HAD A CHIP ON HER SHOULDER” & was left with egg all over his face, all this was done very calm & collectively, while at the same time he stuttered & squirmed, well done that women she totally rag dolled him, showed him up for the fat sally loving hypocrite he is!

  15. Don’t know if true but the story I was told via his agent was Celtic agreed the fee over £1mill, but couldn’t get close to the wages on offer, we considered McCarthy a prospect on £5k ettc a week yet Wigan gave him £25k a week which was as much as our top earner.

Me thinks they have all had a sharp slap to the heed after the FTT outcome, aye it’s being appealed, but they all thought it was cut and dried.

The LNS thing, that is the cherry on the cake.

They can do and say what they want, and of course, they will get away with it.

I have said from day one, the cabal will see to it, and as things progress, I believe that even more.

have posted ssb keevins humiliation in case you’ve missed it?

  21. When Murray sold Rangers for £1 they were in deep shit, having effectively been in administration by the bank who were kindly looking after the finances!. Whyte accepted some deal to make millions by keeping them going for another year but deliberately not paying bills etc to bring administration and liquidation, even warning the SPL and SFA in the belief that they would let them stay in the SPL as a new club. When that failed they sold some assets such as ground probably by pre-arrangement to Green to keep them going for another year, as a new club but pretending to be the one which would be liquidated, as the MSM and SFA would not question it. He has managed this and made a few million as he was promised. So they are still going, probably for at least another year as the waters get murkier and SFA do nothing proactive to call them to account.

Aye, it’s all good fun, but at the end of the day, we are the mugs.

In fact, all of scottish football are the mugs, they will never die, they will be more rabid than they ever were.

I would rather we started a basketball team than continue with the farce that is scottish football.

Or we could resign, I would be happy with that, we could go to the euro courts, we would win any case there re the corruption, anything is better than the farce that is scotland.

I would wager that uefa would step in before it got to the euro courts, and as if by magic, we would have reconstruction on a euro scale.

And I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
