An appropriate course of action when you are the chairman or a non-executive director of a PLC when a fellow director and, until last week, chief executive, has been reported to the Serious Fraud Office for matters in connection with the company, would be to immediately contact the accuser asking for full and immediate disclosure of information which could materially affect investors and the company’s trading position.
The “compelling evidence that Messrs Green and Ahmad received a letter before claim in December 2012, having received previous correspondence, and chose to ignore it” sounds like a signed-for receipt. If this was received before 22 December, the date of Rangers International FC PLC’s IPO, it is of critical importance that the board ask for sight of the evidence, irrespective of what Mr Green says about its existence.
This season’s Third Division has nine days to run and it would inconvenience many if these matters were brought to a head before then, but the duty of directors is clear; they cannot postpone attending to the interests of investors until after the football season.
Lawyers acting for RIFC PLC should politely request full disclosure from the other party, without delay.
Some in the SFA may be tempted to attempt another Grand Plan to prepare for and accommodate and almighty collapse at one club. Grand Plans don’t work in these circumstances; the last one led to the current Lawyers at Dawn scenario.
We await the SFA acting in relation to RIFC PLC’s claim that Sevco 5088 Ltd, a company Craig Whyte is a registered director of, is part of their group. This is in direct contradiction to an earlier representation made to the SFA, and breaks a condition of their membership of the Association.
Current SFA president, Campbell Ogilvie, is a former Rangers director. My prediction is that hell will freeze over before he allows the SFA to act on this matter. The SFA shall wilfully ignore its own rules.

I’ve got access to Newcastle’s ground and go down a couple of times a year with a mate for ‘selected’ games. The oveall experience is top notch. Apart from the fact you can give the club money having a reasonably priced beer from one of the many, many small bars dotted around underneath the stadium (very similar to Celtic Park), both before the game and at half time, these outlets also serve food and there are LOADS of wee shelves to put your food and drink on. Utterly simple, but so helpful when you’re trying to balance two or three items at once. And the bogs are, well …. not ‘bogs’. They’re toilets, very clean even at half time (I’m assumimng somehting is done during the first half regards cleaning and refilling the paper towels). Can’t make comment on the cubicles as I’ve avoided the Greyfriars Bobby situation so far.
Maybe Celtic could send down a scouting party?

Excellent and well articulated post. I too grew up with the wee pie stall at the junction of the jungle and Celtic end and the unfinished toilet construction behind the Celtic end terracing. Life has moved on and improved for most people ( despite the current economic climate ) and their expectations are far ahead of what is now acceptable at Celtic Park.
Personally I don’t care about catering on match days but if our club wishes to continue to prosper it needs to tackle this very real issue and communicate it’s ideas. I know that there are some plans afoot to develop the match day experience but it does require project management skills to sort out the very basics of providing decent drinks and refreshment within the stadium itself. They are a model of embarrassment.

I was up in Glasgow for the Dundee United semi and met up with my older brother and , of course, fell into the inevitable routine of recalling earlier days ( he took me to the 7-1 game and we were comparing our memories of that great day ).
One little tit bit from changing experiences. We both attended the European Cup Final at Hampden on a particularly wet night between Bayern Munich and St Etienne ( les verts ) . He overheard to lovely French lassies in the North Enclosure ask a policeman at half time where the facilities might be. ” Toilets? – there’s nane “.
So Hampden has improved- but not a lot!

The poor internet access within the stadium is a pain I agree but I worry that with thousands playing ‘Candy Crush’ or checking score updates for the English lower leagues that the atmosphere will get even worse.

Being TT I have an admittedly jaundiced view of alcohol.
I am however acquainted with a couple of drinkers who are regulars at Murrayfield.
They claim that, having paid up to £60. in admission charges, continuity of viewing can be nearly impossible due to folf traipsing in and out to bars.
The first time you are in a high viewing point at Celtic Park take in the number of folk constantly on the move throughout the game.
Instal bars and you could easily double, treble or even quadruple the number.
Being a bit of a tightwad, I have never understood paying good money to arrive late, leave early, and wander about in between.

I would agree to an extent. Going away from home has often been a more enjoyable experience than sitting amongst the greetin’ faced whingers at Parkhead.
However, I’ve noticed an element of this disharmony even creeping into the travelling support, particularly this season. Don’t get me wrong the players in green and white aren’t met with the howls of derision which they may encounter from the LL stand for one misplaced pass. Nevertheless, it is something which I’ve rarely witnessed in my years on the road.
