Social cost of Scots exclusion

1522

You want to know the real social cost of Scottish football’s exclusion from the league structure England and Wales share?  It’s the lack of pitches, nets, strips, balls and coaching certifications that the £1bn bounty, promised by the Barclay’s Premier League last night to the grassroots game.

£1bn to the grassroots is a huge sum.  It dwarfs what taxpayers can afford and will provide a series of benefits our kids and amateur players are denied.

If we’re part of the UK, we should be part of the UK’s commercial opportunities.  Every youth team in the land are excluded because of the actions of a cartel.

What are the SFA doing about it?  Nothing.  Their plans don’t seem to require world-class youth facilities.

Can’t see what boycotting will achieve? It would never catch on anyway. Scottish football apart from Celtic, is pretty crap. Hence the TV rights are not worth much. The supply and demand equation will not change anytime soon.

  2. H!H! Mr.Z – how are you?

See the Russia game is running 30mins behind all other Euro games (In-play) – is this because of the disturbances?

  3. BGX,

  5. Bgx

Perhaps the ‘x’ is your lodge number and you’re knitting a wee apron, otherwise you’re naivety is astonishing!

  6. Praecepta

Thanks, I’m well. I hope you are well too.

Yes, 33 minutes delay due to very serious accident with Russia goalkeeper hit into face with a flare from Montenegro stand.

Perhaps the question should be ‘what organisations do they not influence!’

Have you seen / read “the Asterisk Years” about the “establishment” support for their brethern and the Role of the Speculative Society in the legal profession in Scotland?

  9. blantyretim is praying for the Knox family on

If any of you bhoys have a chance

Watch the Paul Larkins astrix(sp) years

It’s not so much the masons but the establishment

A man who I respect PF Ayr stuck up for lord nimo smith and it turns up he was next door neighbour to sir David Murray

    It’s a must watch folks

  10. TD amd embra mike – my point is that they do have a tendency to promote people well beyond their capabilities – hence they end up with a succession of f##k ups in important positions. See the banks, finance, NHS managers, rangers and now sevco for examples… Oh and most political parties too.

That often means they end up fire fighting and covering asses and all that jazz….

  11. Guys….I aint saying the Establishment dont help each other,of course they do, being masons or otherwise….The way to defeat that is to replace it….its the Only way….

  12. Captain Beefheart on

The Masons apparently were friends of Oldco Rangers.

    Thanks guys. Great work.

  13. Bgx,

Who put the information in front of LNS?

We’re did the directive come from, that he felt the need to give such a controversial decision?

Yep, an apron wearing member of the SFA.

  14. any bhoys bet on the horses , i put on a lucky 63 for 10 pence,i had 4 winners out of 6 ,2/1 7/2 9/4 and 7/1 can someone tell me how much i will get back thanks.

  15. And it’s not exclusive to the masons. In Ireland it’s political and religious connections on both sides. And in the south it’s political, cash back handers but not so much religious connection any more – you could argue GAA connections help too. The monied always find ways to keep it in the family….

    It happens everywhere.

It’s why we need proper enforced regulation in all parts of the economy.

  16. roberttressel….that is so true…

and that, as people become More Awake is proving and will prove to be their Downfall….

  17. I am pleased to hear that Paul Murray believes that the creditors of Oldco may get a substantial share of their money.

All that remains now is for the company of which he is a director to acknowledge that it acquired the assets of Oldco at way below market value and voluntarily make a payment to the Oldco creditors fund.

  18. Nir Biton with some nice words about Broony

“Scott is a very good midfield partner,” said Bitton in an exclusive interview in this week’s Celtic View. “He’s an unbelievable player, person and captain. He’s always trying to push us and guide us.

“He always speaks with me, guides me and explains things to me as a young guy. There is a good combination and balance between us. Scott is more of the energetic, dynamic guy but I feel I have improved this part of my game.

“I try to learn from him as I have a lot to learn from him. When you have a player like Scott in your midfield, you feel confident and secure and I am just happy to play alongside him.”

Mr Celtic indeed.A monster of a player for us.

  19. Bgx – it’s simultaneously infuriating and incredibly funny. I don’t know how they’ve achieved that feat!

Their hatred of us has ended up with them giving us a free run at domination in Scottish football and a run out in Europe every year. I hope they know that!! I’m drinking to that fact right now!!!

  20. Sipsini….a guy who was doing what he thought was Right for Scottish Football would be another interpretation…..and judging by some of the comnents in the msm from Celts both past and present, he would have backing in that….Possible …No?..

embra mike whats the asterisk years???

    ——-

Paul Larkin’s excellent documentary which he has been showing to the Celtic community

across the world. Watched it in Winchburgh, and is also showing in Kerrydale Suite in May. Also in Australia, USA etc. Available in paperback from lulu.com. A real eye opener !!

  22. Oh oh….. that’ll be wee Raheem Sterling on the FF banned list! Scores and does some blatant, public blessing himself.

The SFA are drafting a citation as we speak.

  23. roberttressel….I think we are on a similair page….mines is a Cabernet Sauvigion ….£3.99 a bottle from Lidl….gota love it…

  24. Turkey – broonie has grown in to it, absolutely no doubt about it. Not the most gifted player I’ve ever watched but for sheer heart and increasingly being game aware and in the right place at the right time defensively he’s a great guy to have in our team.

  25. What is the Stars on

Any of the Irish lads hear the interview with Russell Crowe on irish radio station Today Fm, earlier today . It ended with him singing the fields of athenry,

  27. WITS…. I need to track that down. That might just push an Aussie hun acquaintance of mine over the edge!

  28. Bgx – I’ll drink to that my.man. bottle of stout for me! Lidl do some good stuff wine wise I’m told. Canny whack 3.99 a bottle!

    Mon the hoops….

  29. Bgx,

Was his job not to give an open an honest verdict?

Of which, would have led to titles being stripped from a cheating club…are rules not to be applied because some feelings of a certain fan base would riot, send out death threats?

The Celts passed and present are due their opinion, just like the supporters that felt cheated by a decision for cheats…yes!
