Social cost of Scots exclusion

1522

You want to know the real social cost of Scottish football’s exclusion from the league structure England and Wales share?  It’s the lack of pitches, nets, strips, balls and coaching certifications that the £1bn bounty, promised by the Barclay’s Premier League last night to the grassroots game.

£1bn to the grassroots is a huge sum.  It dwarfs what taxpayers can afford and will provide a series of benefits our kids and amateur players are denied.

If we’re part of the UK, we should be part of the UK’s commercial opportunities.  Every youth team in the land are excluded because of the actions of a cartel.

What are the SFA doing about it?  Nothing.  Their plans don’t seem to require world-class youth facilities.

  1. The Huns are short of pennies and want to put bums on seats and sell their 4 match packages. Accordingly they will say whatever they have to, in order to shake a few more quid from the gullible.

However what the Huns do or don’t do is outside our control and to be honest we give them too much blog space here. Our focus should be on our own Club, we are in a very healthy financial situation, we have a very decent young squad with quite a few valuable players. Some might go in close season, I don’t want them to, but at least if they do, they should generate serious income which simply must be re-invested in squad. We are miles ahead of them with the right approach we should stay well ahead of them for years.

You’re wishing for the moon on a stick.

The only folk who can actually change the Game are the supporters. That’s us.

The UK parties believe everything’s going swimmingly. Why would they want to tamper with the ‘best league in the world’?

Didn’t you know there was a whole Parliamentary Enquiry into the Governance of the Game in the current parliament? Bit of a debt problem they reckoned, and too many of them foreigners buying our clubs. And the odd sop to grass roots or community benefit, but that’s about it.

The Chairman of the enquiry said:

“No one doubts the success of the Premier League in revitalising English football. But it has been accompanied by serious financial problems throughout the football league pyramid. Significant changes need to be made to the way the game is run to secure the future of England’s unique football heritage, and the economic and community benefits it provides.”

England’s unique football heritage. There’s a vote winner. You do know that they’re after another shot at hosting the World Cup don’t you?

Up here simultaneously, we got the Joint Action Group and the OBAFTC Act.

To be fair, Sport is devolved, so the UK parliament had no business looking at Football outside of England in the first place. But then, the UK doesn’t look at Football outside of England at all! And Sky + BT have just given them £5 Billion reasons not to bother.

Nup. Rather than the current arrangements not being allowed to continue unchallenged by political parties, challenge is simply not conscionable for these folk.

If you don’t reach out you don’t get the chance to grab the stick.

To get supporters reaching out the issues need to be presented to them in a form they understand. For example by not just saying the SFA are corrupt but that those in Hampden have been lieing to their back teeth to save themselves but then going on to proving it.

It is reaching for the stick to the moon but we need to build step ladders first to improve the chances of grabbing it.

We need to get off line and into main stream like the SH advert. We need to reach match day non blog users via fanzines.

We Celtic supporters need to involve the CSA and CST to start making the fuss Celtic will not or perhaps cannot.

Perhaps an Open Meeting to put some fire in the belly would tell us just how many supporters really gaf about the issues that concern us.

The 23-year-old Libyan international is a former Manchester City youth player, and has been in Lombardy since 2012.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that the player is very close to agreeing a move to the Scottish champions, with only the signatures yet to be agreed.

Benali has a contract until 2016, but it is not yet known if a fee has been agreed between the clubs for the defensive midfielder.

QUESTIONS FOR THE SFA ON THE LICENCE THAT COST CELTIC TENS OF MILLIONS…

    (or Auldheid)

Clearly Celtic, and in particular Celtic shareholders, lost value through the actions of the SFA.

Would there be any merit in a wee shareholder suing the SFA in the small claims court for financial loss (small percentage of a big amount) using Auldheid’s questions in evidence?

  23. The latest batch of “Moonbeams”from Murray to the gullible mob who follow them should come as no surprise. He,and anyone else who studied what Green accomplished in his short time there, will see that this is the kind of nonsense they will pay money to hear.

The list of lies, cheating, fables is endless. The whole ethos of the club is to cheat, cut corners, look for the sugar daddy. Not work for your success.

The recent farce with the “Newcastle 5″is a case in comment. Not happy with having the biggest, highest paid, pool of players in the Championship, and making such a mess of promotion, they accepted the “Loanees”with open arms,no questions asked, and the Hun hordes lapped it up.”Promotion will be a certainty now”

Now,when it has dawned on them they have been conned,by an even bigger conman than Green, they are “Holding an emergency meeting”to sort it out.

In their greed to outdo their rivals for promotion, again, corners were cut. What,no medicals?.No effort to find out if any had talent?.No due diligence taken by the medical team on any of the players fitness?.No.

You can bet the loan contracts are watertight,as I heard the contracts were such, that Newcastle could not recall any player until the season ended, even,as has happened, their was a fall out with MA.Done up like a kipper once again.

Still, theres always the “Fat boy”to take MA to the cleaners in court.Should be good.

Celtic have no right to any English revenue. Time to stop whinging. If we prepare well, we have potential access to the CL most seasons.
