Soon the world will know, you were not paranoid after all

Tonight Sevco accepted all outstanding penalties attributable to the SFA membership of soon-to-be-liquidated Rangers.  They also agreed that if Rangers are found to have cheated for over a decade by illegally registering players that they will be subject to whatever penalties Rangers would be due, in order to acquire Rangers SFA membership.

Only a week ago Ally McCoist insisted he would not be party to such a deal, it remains to be seen if that they were empty words.

The Scottish Premier League will now continue with its inquiry into the alleged dual-contracts Rangers operated during the Sir David Murray era.  I confidently predict the findings will reveal Rangers did not operate within the same rules as every other club, since at least the last century.  The former club will be stripped of all league titles and cups.  Celtic will be awarded league titles for 2003, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2011, creating a new Scottish record of 12 consecutive league championship wins.

Sevco will be liable for any punishment due for these years of operating with shadow contracts, the likely severity of which will reflect the enormity of the offence.

Should the First Tier Tribunal find that Rangers evaded paying up to £75m of social taxes, which is explicitly against Fifa and SFA rules, the SFA disciplinary tribunal will punish Sevco, the successor club now due to inherit Rangers SFA membership.

If you are on the receiving end of this, the future will appear daunting.  If you stood at Rugby Park, Fir Park, Celtic Park, St Mirren Park or Caledonian Stadium, when Celtic effectively or actually ‘lost’ league titles while observing the rules, the cumulative effects of punishments on a rival are meaningless, you will want trophies awarded to those who were prepared to endure defeat while observing the rules.

One day soon the world will know, you were not paranoid after all!

HH, the Sevco mob have no shame. Sally is losing the plot speaking of integrity- lack thereof-at SFA.

I suspect that the changes will be subtle, removal of 5 stars; name change Rangers Royal (I am not kidding) , official colour change from Royal Blue to just blue, include a sock change to orange; official records will be frozen in time but the bears will just claim them anyway.

Tongue slight in cheek re the exact changes, but you get the drift. The sequence of events will be:

    – BDO will demand changes re above and then

    – FTT reports

    – dual contracts investigation finalised

    – then the tribunal finds ‘them’ guilty

    – however , punishment cannot be handed down to the BDO changes which would have been implemented and approved by the SFA.

Easy to fix things if you want to.

Money makes the world go round, so it is now up to the fans to boycott the Scottish national team , if they allow a con to be perpetrated.

  7. BBC Olympic online coverage is superb. It is very hard to miss the event you want to see. I am currently watching China’s ladies volleyball team (proper indoor game) fighting back against Serbia. They are heavily reliant on big hitter Wang Y.M. Now, there’s a woman who could help you shift a wardrobe.

Will head to CP after this game.

  8. Everytime McCoist opens his mouth he brings the game into disrepute, he must be punished by the SFA who have to stand up to the new club and not let their shenanigans start all over again.

Mr Green really shouldn’t be talking about our history especially when he keeps getting it so wrong; a swift rebuke from Mr Lawwell should do the trick.

They are pandering to the hard core and it will be interesting to see how they react as they travel the length and breadth of Scotland, very irresponsible from their so called leaders who will no doubt react in horror if violence is the result.

Don’t know if anyone has already commented on this already but I have just realised that, on Virgin Media, the BBC have taken over virtually every channel from 550-600 showing any number of Olympic sports. Now, that is fifty channels BBC can use, are using, for sport. Gives you a good idea of the their actual capacity for broadcasting. Given this why does the SPL settle for a highlight package of the lowest order.

  11. Swimmer Sharon Davies talking on the BBC about East Germans swimmers cheating. She was saying she felt really sorry for the honest swimmers who finished behind swimmers who took drugs and steroids. Their lives could have changed forever if it weren’t for the those who cheated to aquire gold medals.

She also said the IOC should have done a lot more to stop the abuse. They knew all about it, but looked the other way.

    We feel your pain, Sharon.

That’s really disappointing. A lack of publicity during the summer and the trend towards apathy in the support will drive attendances down. The club and football in general needs to redress these issues.

If the highlight package was too good then a proportion of customers would not bother with the pay to view channels. They pay the League the big money so limit the BBC to almost advert length clips from each game.

  16. Base on a true story…….

In a prison in Masonland and the local tobacco baron is having some problems with late (interest) payments due on a ‘lend’ (sic). The unfortunate debtor who was meant to be given a stern ‘talking to’ ended up being thrown over the fourth floor in the hall and landed on the steel wire safety net, alive but badly bruised and sore all over.

Another inmate is watching this carry on and decides to create a bit of a stooshie because he saw and understood that if this carried on as such then a sizeable percentage of said prison populace would be flying over the D hall landing………

So he goes to the Prison Governor and makes him aware of the situation….and is so informed on relaying his tale “leave it with me 717171 and I will investigate this issue”…………

Next day inmate 717171 is given the option of going on Rule 43 (with sex offenders etc.,) for his own protection or be incarcerated in solitary confinement in ‘the block’ for the remainder of his sentence…….. He (stubborn man that he is chose neither) nonetheless, he ended up in ‘the block’……..

Now inmate 717171, usually attended mass on the Sunday morning but this particular Sunday he was posted missing, so the prison chaplain, Father Turnbull, asked Governor Regan “What’s the script with inmate 717171????????” That’s how prison chaplains talk………..

A version of events was relayed culminating in the chaplain being allowed to visit inmate 717171……….. Subsequently, a more credible version of events was relayed to the visiting reverend, causing him much consternation and soul searching…….

Later on that evening after 6:30 mass as Father Turnbull was saying hello and how’s the family etc., he catches sight of a parishioner whom he knows to be a Regional Crime Squad officer, tells him the story, and is assured that the Bill will further investigate the situation and revert soonest……That’s what they say innit!

Meanwhile Chic the tobacco baron is meeting with Governor Regan and the options are being discussed “It’s all out in the open Chic. Bloody Police and Priests. So where do we go from here????”says the Governor………… “I’ll tell yae whit Guv, you couldnae huv run this nick withoot me and ma bears daein whit we dae!!”…………”Sure Charles, sure. You and your little bug-eyed friend Whytie (was he in Brighton Rock BTW) have been of great assistance but we have to find a solution. Now hear me on this. We can avoid the Visiting Magistrates (bloody crime squad talkers) adding an extra three months or so to your sentence if I tell them that you have lost 90 days remission because of the actions of one of your team. Mind you, we’ll suspend that for six months or so and you’ll be out on the streets about the same time as I collect my pension and hey ho maybe we can have a wee meet over in the South of France with our mutual acquaintances to celebrate eh! Just need to get Jimmy Plimsole to run with it………..OK for you??????

When is PL or even DD going to come out with a statement against the Sevco owner and the boy McCoist. They keep bringing up our history and our business status. What the hell have we got to do their wrong doings? Well apart from the big man setting them off on the road to ruin in 67. Come out now with something Mr.Lawwell and tell Green and co to put a sock in it or else.

Would that it were so; in footballing terms, this is the most important decision to be made in Scottish football; ever. For me, its essential that this happens.

20 years on, whatever Sevco want to say about their history, this is the one thing that will hit the hardest. Its a permanent embarrassment, and a disgrace.

  28. McCoist will now be enduring some sleepless nights as he returns to the business of football management by guiding his rag tag team to a constant run of victories against the minnows in Div 3.

Don’t know about about the “big money” point you are making, but one thing is for sure Sky are making big money indeed from its’ Scottish base. Main point though is that there is a whole lot of largely unused capacity out there and it should not be beyond the wit of a club like Celtic, or even dare I say it, a league like the SPL to look at alternative ways of broadcasting games, in partnership with BBC, BT, ESPN or whoever.
