Yesterday evening STV revealed the real outcome of last week’s meeting between Stewart Regan, Neil Doncaster and David Longmuir as a proverbial gun was put to the head of Scottish Football League clubs.
In short, SPL chief executive, Neil Doncaster, no doubt with the support of some clubs but without the prior knowledge or support of Celtic, has threatened to kick 20 SFL clubs out of the senior game unless they acquiesce to his demand to parachute Sevco into the First Division.
The proposal was presented by SFL chief executive, David Longmuir, and appears to carry his endorsement.
Five scenarios are portrayed:
‘Rangers’ remaining in the SPL is dismissed as SPL clubs have confirmed they will vote no.
‘Rangers’ going to the third division is objected to on two grounds, financial (which is laboured a bit) and – wait for it – “The sporting opportunity is quashed for other clubs”.
Ponder that one for a moment, “The sporting opportunity is quashed for other clubs”.
‘Rangers’ to the First Division is presented as being “financially possible to recover from this scenario”.
‘Rangers’ to SPL2 is dismissed as apparently this would create “a bigger divide” than moving ‘Rangers’ to the First Division but not changing the name of the league. It is also noted that a legal challenge could bring paralysis.
Finally, they discuss ‘Rangers’ terminated or suspended, which apparently would lead to “complete financial meltdown”.
Then come the inducements to co-opt ‘Rangers’ into the First Division…. cash, your cash. Lots and lots of your cash, an “immediate cash benefit for all 30 clubs!” The exclamation mark is theirs!!
We could spend all day dissecting this disgraceful document but I’d like to focus on one immediate element:
‘Rangers’ terminated or suspended – complete financial meltdown.
So how do the SFA, SFL and the SPL rogues who participated in this shambles propose to ensure the SFA Independent Judicial Panel does not suspend ‘Rangers’ for subverting our game for over a decade for fielding illegally registered players for that period?
In short, it cannot. The independent judicial process will itself need to be subverted. As I suggested a few days ago, the judges will be told they are no longer wanted, we are back with the hand-selected SFA committee men.
The three most senior executives running our game have told you that one errant club is so powerful it cannot be subject to the rules and must not face the punishments which are due.
I’m not going to dispute the validity of this view (just now), but surely we deserve some honesty? If the Scottish Football Association and Scottish Premier League has accepted the ‘game’ is over, let’s hear from them. Where is the leadership from the SFA president on the collapse of the game under his watch? What are the chief executives saying to their paying customers?
Our sport cannot be subverted below radar.
You have been cheated and the rules will be changed to ensure there are no consequences. This is no longer a sport, it is a financial accommodation where a few executives are threatening to expel 20 clubs, most of whom have over a century history in the senior game, to allow Sevco to start two divisions higher than they otherwise would.
Celtic can have nothing to do with this.
The game here is dead. The leagues are set to collapse, most likely, no matter what happens now.

Dont see were you get turkeys from, all clubs understand the threat to the sport, IMO voting for the current proposals is the turkey vote.
The only way to restore integrity is for the members to take action.
If outside help is imposed, no Scottish club can ever again claim integrity

Away on Holiday for a while. Holidays for me means cutting out the internet apart from a quick look for news etc. No comments. always does me good.

I suspect it will be a much changed landscape when i get back. Here is my prediction:
1. Celtic will find a compromise regarding the 30% gate money. I’m confident that this is not a runner.
2. Newco will be on the verge of announcing that it has no team to play anywhere next season. (This is dependent on what happens regarding SPL2 and how quickly things are put in place – it will need to be damned quick because time is running out rapidly for any form of team to be put together)
3. I will be 1 stone heavier (I have to be right about 1 thing)

Proposed League Reconstruction
The Celtic Trust is deeply concerned about reports which appeared in the press and media yesterday that the footballing authorities in Scotland are proposing wholescale changes to League structure with the sole aim of ensuring that a successor to Rangers FC obtains a place in the second tier of Scottish football. Their hope is that this entity will achieve promotion to the SPL within one season. This ‘new club’,( which at the moment is referred to by various names,) does not even have the basic requirement to operate in any tier of Scottish football, as we understand it is not in possession of a licence from the SFA or any other body within Scottish football. Despite this, it would appear that these very organisations are prepared to change the whole structure of senior football to accommodate a ‘club’ which has no standing or credibility within the game. That is simply unacceptable.
As a member of Supporters Direct the Celtic Trust has been involved in surveys about League reconstruction so we are not opposed to it per se but we believe that it must be done in a planned, considered manner and in consultation with supporters and other interested parties and not rushed through for benefit of one new, untried, proposed ‘club’. Those proposing this course would do well to remember that if or when this ‘club’ comes into existence it will be because its predecessor, over a number of years, failed to pay its taxes and other bills, has been judged to have a case to answer concerning serious cheating, and has already been found guilty of offences deemed so serious that only match fixing would have been worse.
Celtic supporters have made it known that they are opposed to any successor of, the soon to be liquidated Rangers FC, being given special and unique treatment. In this we do not stand alone as fans of many other Clubs have also been quick to voice their opposition. Already fan power has had an effect on the decisions of the Chairpersons of SPL clubs who have stated their intention of not allowing ’new club’ direct admission into the SPL. A growing number of SFL Clubs have also stated their concerns following fans representation. Yet despite this clear message Regan, Ogilvie Doncaster and Co are looking for a way to get round fans’ expressed opinions and parachute ‘new club’ into the League without proper procedures.
The Trust along with the other Celtic supporter organisations has established good working links with supporters’ organisations of other Scottish Clubs. We will continue to work with them to make it clear to those who would ignore the stated feelings of Scottish fans that there will be very serious consequences if they do not reconsider their proposals.
We are seeking an urgent meeting with the CEO of our own Club to whom we have already made our views known and we will take every opportunity to ensure that those concerned are in no doubt about the consequences should they continue to pursue this course of action. The ‘wise men’ of the SFA, SPL, SFL etc would do well to remember the words of a truly wise man,

I think you underestimate the strength of feeling other SPL chairman, killie aside, have on this issue.
It is however a last desperate (disparite???) attempt by Dungcaster and Roguen to keep the gravy train going.
There is a BIG story still to come out. Barcabhoy alluded to it, I know it and i think you have an inkling too.
Expect a vote of NO CONFIDENCE in dungcaster any time soon.

The primitive Reward-Punishment System, the old carrot & stick trick, only turns man into a donkey. This way of dealing with people, of manipulating and coercing them has from time immemorial held the evolution of the human race back for so long. If we don’t ditch this approach to human “modification” then we will never move onto the “next level”. The days of allowing authorities and various powers to treat people as children with threats and promises ( as DonkeyBoy is doing with the SFL member clubs) has to be put behind us, and buried like a redundant malleolus for good alongside the other relics and fossils of the stone age period- it prospers by cynically working on the primitive aspects of humanity by exploiting the fear-desire complex we all biologically share from our evolutionary inheritance, it is of course what capitalism does by exploiting our biological weaknesses…its akin to putting a gun to someone’s head: yeah the guy who has the gun benefits by forcing us to to what he wants, he owns our obedience, because we fear death and desire to live…but it also limits the guy with the gun. His role is limited to holding the gun to your head, his role as distributor of threats defines him, but is also the horizon of his own limit.
Instead if two people work together then they can mutually exchange their ideas, experience, wisdom, knowledge and skills by opening up the possibilities of their situation through co-operation. This is of course a very simple idea, but we humans consistently fail in employing this basic truth, mainly because we are lazy and it is more convenient to threaten and punish people as though they were children instead. Apple for example want to “protect” the ideas their programmers have for apps for i-pod etc but Android tablets have an “open” environment where all programmers are free to add their own unique apps…no doubt finally making Apples approach obsolete.

This has been rigged or at least been abused by JP Morgan, orchestrated mainly by CEO Jamie “The Whale” Dimon, in order to get ahead of the game and ensure they gain massive advantages in the financial field of capital investment. These crooks have become undone and caught red handed thanks to various internet bampots and various protesters…but you guessed it: he doesn’t want to go, in fact he just blankly refuses and of course believes himself untouchable; a sense of hubris reinforced by the fact that the Financial Services Authority refuses to properly scrutinize such practices and the BBA assures us that such corruption doesn’t exist. Sound familiar? Dimon will go. JP Morgan and others will be savagely damaged by all this as well, even if the establishment attempts to cover it up.
But the bad old days are coming to end, we are moving into a new more transparent world- even anti-democratic Islamic nations are opening up to new ways of being- if the DonkeyBoy, Regan, Ogilvie etc don’t want to be part of a new way of doing things in Scottish football then they will just have to go to the way of the dinosaurs and we, the fans, are the meteorite they never saw coming…
