Lennon got it very wrong with the comments re the two Sevco incidents. I wonder if he would have said the same had these incidents been against Hibernian?

Maybe NFL is fed up being flung under the Celtic bus, after fighting Celtic’s corner ?

Good looking line-up, although I prefer a full-back on one side of a back three. Shouldn’t be a problem against these opponents.

Looking forward to seeing Benkovic. Hopefully Christie will get on at some point.

Come on the hoops – a win, a clean sheet and a few goals.

  4. Totally embarrassing listening to BBC Radio Scotland. They cannot even get the first name of our new centre back correct. Blaming each other. How much are they paid for this nonsencical punditry? Do they do any research? Answers on a very small postcard please.

    I agree.

Would love to know how much these guys, Packy included, are paid for these stints. It’s amateur at best and cringeworthy at times. What do they all day to be so unprepared?

I wrote to the beeb asking how much they had spent on ebt pundits in the last 2 years – they stated that because it comes under the auspices of journalists ( I know) then they weren’t compelled to give the info.

  7. Back to work tonight bhoys. Time to stamp (with apologies to McGregor and his ilk) our authority on this league.

Let’s get a comfortable 1/2 time lead and introduce some subs early second half.

    0-4.

  8. FILIP Benkovic will make his Celtic debut tonight as the Hoops return to domestic action with an away game against St Mirren.

The 21-year-old defender joined the club on a season-long loan at the end of the recent transfer window, and he will partner Dedryck Boyata in central defence, with Kristoffer Ajer taking up a right-back role.

Youssouf Mulumbu, who joined Celtic at the same time as Benkovic, is among the substitutes, along with Leigh Griffiths, who signed a new four-year deal with the club earlier today. Odsonne Edouard will lead the line as Brendan Rodgers’ side target all three points in Paisley.

Kick-off at St Mirren Park is 7.45pm. Head to @celticfc for all the pre-game build-up and live matches updates.

CELTIC: Gordon; Ajer, Boyata, Benkovic, Tierney; Brown, Ntcham; Forrest, Rogic, McGregor, Edouard.

Subs: Bain, Griffiths, Sinclair, Christie, Lustig, Johnston, Mulumbu.

  9. When you look at the players who haven’t even made the squad, Izzy, Jozo,Hendry, Arzani, Hayes, Morgan,Kouassi & also with Bitton to come back, the competition for places is fierce.

I am excited by team chosen, if we get an early goal we could see fireworks, if they sit in and frustrate us it could be a nervy night.

As always I’ll be happy with 3 points but would love to see a show.

  10. Many bbc pundits – north and south of the border – are akin to embarrassing distant relatives who had a trial for their local semi pro teams 45 years back.

Boring, out of touch, ‘better in my day’ pish prattlers!

Mark Lawrenson being the nadir of numpties

  11. Jist caught the ‘get yersel an emergency loan’ adverts on BT.

Jimmy Boyle charged lower interest rates…albeit his default policy was a wee bit harsher.

  12. Looking forward to this and I can see us scoring heavily.

    4:0 to the good guys.

As for the idiocy of punditry, football suffers in the same way as many other pastimes on the box.

The bland mammy’s boy, Alan Titchmarsh, is highly paid for being inoffensive(to most people) on Gardening . David Dickenson is famous for the colour of his skin, when he rattles on about antiques and Janet Street-Porter gets listened to despite being unlistenable, so I don’t really know what she is talking about- Loose Dentures, I think it is.

English football sees us presented with the lazy and unstudied analysis of Mark Lawrenson and the like. So it is no surprise to see cheery voiced Gerry McCulloch or the lovely tones of Packie Bonnar uttering inanities. We get the presenters we deserve; switch them off or mute them.

Get Paul67 to arrange for Tommy Boyd and Darren O’Dea to do a live radio commentary on CQN, to replace the muted TV one. We could even get Celtic by Numbers to do the half time analysis.

  13. Maybe my pre match beers, or maybe my adrenalin kicking in here in Paisley, but I am convinced we will win 5 or 6 nil tonight, and be at league summit tonight.

  14. The Honest Assessment on

I don’t know what the BBC pay their pundits, I read a couple of years ago that Clyde paid their pundits £600 a shift, it was in the Record so it must be true.

  15. I like BT,dont get me wrong, snd maybe this is a little small minded, but why, when its Celtic thatsbplaying,in the ad breaks, they keep showing Hun goals.Whit.

  16. Chief BBC Football Correspondent Mr Chris McLaughlin just gave the wrong name again. Feck me I am totally scunnered by this amateurism.

Out of here before I detract from the game.

  17. Turkeybhoy…..to attract those desperately seeking a loan.

I’ve totally agreed with everything Ally has said the night.

    Hail Hail
