STALLED: AJETI SWITCH SNAG

CELTIC’S season-long loan move for West Ham striker Albian Ajeti has stalled.

The Swiss international frontman was expected in Glasgow today for a medical before rubber-stamping the temporary switch to team up with his former Basel team-mate Mohamed Elyounoussi.

Ajeti, though, has asked for more time to consider the move to the champions as Neil Lennon strengthens his squad for the historic tilt at ten, as reported in the Scottish Sun.

The Hoops gaffer warned yesterday the deal for the 23-year-old forward was not over the line, as CQN reported, and he may have to be patient as the player considers his next switch.

Ajeti joined the Hammers last summer in an £8million deal from Basel, but things did not work out and boss Davie Moyes is prepared to allow the attacker to go to Parkhead with the view to making the move permanent at the end of the season. A fee of around £5million had been mentioned with the Londoners looking to recoup some of their initial outlay.

The two clubs had reached an agreement, but Ajeti has now returned home to Switzerland to mull over his future.
