Technical review needed after Real game

882

The trip to the US to play Real Madrid is core to strategy for Celtic right now.  It allowed the significant North American support an easier opportunity to see the team, keeps the club’s profile high among the game movers and shakers and will have contributed valuable financial resources.

You know there’s a ‘but’ coming, don’t you.

Gary Hooper, Anthony Stokes and Daryl Murphy all picked up or aggravated strains on the trip.  The players are still stepping up their fitness regimes.  Muscles are being stressed, then rested, then stresses a little further.  Returning from two lengthy flights with a high incidence of non-contact injuries suggests we need to review how we prepare athletes for travel.

Do you like the new-look Celtic Quick News?  Some fundamental changes have engineered into the back-end which should make things more solid going forward.  More new features will come on-stream shortly.  My enormous thanks to Kev, who designed the template and everything new in the engine room.

Don’t forget, if you have an article in you for CQN Magazine email me: articles@cqnmagazine.co.uk and let me know what you would like to write about. I’ll be able to give you some pointers. Next edition coming soon.

    BBB,

what do you mean “are we going to run out of time”

we ran out of time at the start of the transfer window,

where you been, are you a hun :oD)))))

I think it’s possible to do that as, working via agents, we will have a list to then act upon – conditional signings if you like. Urban myths (or an ETims rumour mill) will have a list as long as your arm of those who were ‘lined up’ but who ‘fell through’. Trick would be to get a healthy lead from the first leg of course and sign them earlier :-) Whether we then do this or not is of course another point.

I am mind-reading PL ‘well Neil, you qualified for the CL, that was your objective. And you’ve done it without buying anyone. Ok, so do you really need anyone? I think we’ll be fine. Can we have a look in January and sign Willo Flood?’

Also depends who we sell. Maybe.

Neil Canamalar – Does that make me an optimist? ;-) I live in hope of another Robbie Keane like moment as the window “slams” shut.

  6. Buffalo Bills Bhoy on

Bloke 109 – And just seconds after saying I am an optimist, I would have to say even with a 2-0 lead from the first leg I would be hesitant to splash the cash too quickly just in case at all goes moobs up! Willo Flood? You are giving me nightmares just before bedtime!

Its late and for the sake of getting the keyboard working – I think PL has done a fantastic job (look at the chaos down the road)

I get fed up with people blaming PL for every negative situation that exists at Celtic

Just because we have not signed anyone (and I am a bit worried that we have not)

PL gets the blame – we are in a good place the team look strong – yes we need anothe centre forward and we definately need a centre half – but I dont think PL has been sitting on his hands

Look at Man Utd and Van Persie – why cant a club like Unt not just signe him ??

Every deal is complicated with many looking to make a few quid

PL will make solid decisions in Celtics favour not in the interest of agents or second hand 6 out of 10 footballers (well not any more )

    Lets hear it for PL

  15. miki67 @ 22.11,

Your post on which I commented showed very clear hatred, viz. a desire to see Maggie Thatcher dead (she’s been out of office for more than 20 years). If you maintain that that doesn’t amount to hatred, then fine – just explain how it doesn’t.

You’re not entitled to your opinion that she was a fascist: there is a dictionary definition of the word – I challenge you to show how she fitted it.

PLease explain what you mean by “backhanders”: I had no intention of dragging anyone else into the exchange – you’ve obviously misunderstood that, too.

  16. Invercelt – I hate Margaret Thatcher and will have a party when she dies. I lived through her recession and witnessed first hand the devastation that it wrought and the reckless disregard for people and their lives. Its very very personal for me.

  17. Good evening CQN

Invercelt, coming late and not read back, however thatcher’s authoritarian, dictatorial and right-wing choice of “leadership” could be quite easily interpreted as facism, IMO. Opinion is important as it is my opinion that her behaviour and form of government matches a definition of facism.

    Sorry for butting in.
