Technical review needed after Real game

882

The trip to the US to play Real Madrid is core to strategy for Celtic right now.  It allowed the significant North American support an easier opportunity to see the team, keeps the club’s profile high among the game movers and shakers and will have contributed valuable financial resources.

You know there’s a ‘but’ coming, don’t you.

Gary Hooper, Anthony Stokes and Daryl Murphy all picked up or aggravated strains on the trip.  The players are still stepping up their fitness regimes.  Muscles are being stressed, then rested, then stresses a little further.  Returning from two lengthy flights with a high incidence of non-contact injuries suggests we need to review how we prepare athletes for travel.

Do you like the new-look Celtic Quick News?  Some fundamental changes have engineered into the back-end which should make things more solid going forward.  More new features will come on-stream shortly.  My enormous thanks to Kev, who designed the template and everything new in the engine room.

Don’t forget, if you have an article in you for CQN Magazine email me: articles@cqnmagazine.co.uk and let me know what you would like to write about. I’ll be able to give you some pointers. Next edition coming soon.

  1. We are heading into a crucial Champions League tie with a misfiring and severely depleted squad….

Though our campaign has hardly started

,this is the defining moment of our season.

Even if they make the game, neither Stokes or Hooper will be fully fit…

Bangura and Murphy are also injured, and not worthy of selection..

Rogne is struggling…and Wanyama is suspended…

It would be ironic if we had to depend on Tony Watt to lead the line…given NL’s curious reluctance to play him in recent matches..

    What An Absolute Shambles….!

We have scouted high and low over the past year for a striker who ticks all the boxes…..and Jordan Rhodes has been identified as the player who best matches our requirements….with the bonus that he comes with a natural affinity for the club and for Scotland.

Why has he not been signed….so that he is available for the crucial CL fixtures..even if he does not start a game?

His signing would have a positive transformative effect on the squad.

It would galvanise his fellow forwards into putting in a bit more effort,in their fight to retain their starting places…

It would send out the message…..

    Celtic Mean Business……!!!!

Folk keep mithering that we should ‘ hold onto Ki’ for a couple of seasons…

Get real…He told the Korean Press last October that he would not be renewing his contract with Celtic.

Then…after the League was won..he was pressed again on re-signing…

Refusing to be pinned down,he made the excuse that discussions should be delayed ‘until after the Scottish Cup Final’

He is intent on moving, and I would not expect that he would ‘put himself about’ if he was picked to play in Sweden..

    His mind is already elsewhere..

And he MUST be sold in this transfer window…or his value will decline sharply when he enters the final year of his contract in January…

Make no mistake….if we go to Sweden with our depleted squad,we will lose by three or four clear goals…and fat chance of an away goal. Forget about winning the tie on aggregate at Parkhead..

Kiss goodbye to the £20M we would have earned by reaching the Group Stages..

Never mind parroting the mantra,”We only spend what comes in over a specific time period’

Ki(and/or) another midfielder are being sold in this window…

Rasmussen and Juarez have sold for £2M

Forster’s fee was covered by the sale of Hooiveld..

Five other first team players have left and are off the annual wage bill..

    CRUNCH TIME , MR.LAWWELL..!!!!

The Lid Must Come Off The Biscuit Box Now….

You Won’t Want Your Grandchildren Asking You About The RHODES WINDOW

…And What Did The Bad Men Do To Grandpa With The Jaggy Pitchforks…?

That Ugly Night On Kerrydale Street..

    Still Laughin’…..All The Same…

we slag him. that’s fair enough. the guy’s a rocket, and can’t help making himself the butt of his own jokes.

his fellow pros slag him. they even fine him for bringing their industry into disrepute. think about that, bringing journalism, the industry that brought about the leveson inquiry, into disrepute. like being called a nutter by genghis kahn.

his own clubs fans, by his own admission slag him. when you’re too out there for folk so gullible they believed david murray for 25 years you must actually be hallucinogenic.

but all the while, he manages to purport himself as the voice of reason. orcs must feel he’s like the psycho ex-girlfriend who texts every morning at 4am.

david, if the whole world thinks “it’s you,” then, it’s probably you.

Ole Maggie did choose ‘Telstar’ as one of her Desert Island Discs, so, a bit like Henry Kissinger supporting Greuther Furth, there may be a wee spark of soul buried beneath the carapace.

Facts are not his strong point either correct me if im wrong I dont recall Sean South as an IRA bomber and his leanings towards facism post WW2 were never proved. Still why lets the facts get in the way of a story designed to rouse the rabble against the great Vatican led conspiracy

  10. Steinreignedsupreme on

Legless inhabits a dark world full of paranoia, conspiracy and pish-stained stairwells.

However, he does provide much unintentional hilarity in his attempts to gain a shred of credibility.

The Huns adore him. Cornelius Graham is a big fan and Divine Dingwall … well, we don’t want to go there.

agreed Thatcher wasn’t a fascist. However one of her first acts was to increase significantly the pay of the army and police to get them “one of us” before her assault on trade unionism.

She also helped invent whippy ice cream which is basically a cheat to get higher returns. It is the Kestrel lager of ice creams.

And as Imaginger said she stole my milk.

  14. Dundee Utd statement is carefully worded. Is says they have not been paid. Could be that the money is due from the sums withheld by the authorities.

Thatcher’s role in the development of plastic ice cream should never be forgotten or forgiven .

I particularly enjoyed her appearance on Desert Island Discs——– her choice of Two Little Boys and the associated big up to the importance of sharing was a Mr Whippy style delight.

  19. Snake Plissken on

So the propaganda drive is on and Sevco have now sold 30,000 bazillion season tickets (at 200 – 300 quid a pop) giving them a mighty 9M quid to play with (which after paying their players the 5-12K a week to beat the part timers of Division3 will leave them with around 2M surplus).

Celtic will get that amount for selling Ki alone.

We are all shaking in our shoes at the prospect of a team spending what they are allegedly bringing in THREE divisions below us with a remote chance of actually playing us or challenging us for the two trophies we COULD meet in (although given the FPLG’s cup record I wouldn’t haud yer breath).

Oh wait! I forgot! They can win the Ramsden’s Cup and we can nor will we ever be able to.

Y’know what? I think we’ll let them have that one thing over us for all eternity. After all, they’ll never win the European cup that we have won so it’s a fair trade – European champions or best of the diddy teams in Scotland – a cup so lame even Hibs wouldn’t want to win it.

As for Celtic’s future – right now everything looks rosy.

Celtic have a guaranteed 8 matches in Europe to play before Christmas in one format or another.

We have a squad full of potential and salable assets if needs be.

We have a young manager hungry for more success.

We have the best Stadium and support in the land

We have a period of sustained success at home guaranteed

We have European Football guaranteed for the next few years.

Should Celtic beat Helsingborgs then that money will put Celtic out of sight in Scotland for the foreseeable future.

    We can do it.

Life as a Celtic fan is always exciting and fulfilling but now it is more so than ever.

    CQN fantasy league :- fantasy.premierleague.com

To all those who played last year, its a simple 5 minute job to re-register and set up your team, most of you will have probably forgotten your passwords so just type in your email and a recovery password will be sent to you.

New players just register normally, will take no longer than ten minutes.

This year I’ve gone for the classic league, literally most points wins over the course of the season compared to last years head to head system, where you played different people every week and three points for win, one for draw etc.

To join the league the code is :- 721106-181775
