STORM BABET UPDATE: THREE PREMIERSHIP GAMES OFF

0

THREE Premiership games have been scrapped as Storm Babet continues to create chaos and havoc in Scotland.

Ross County v St Mirren in Dingwall was called off this morning to join the matches at Pittodrie, with Aberdeen due to face Dundee, and Perth, with St Johnstone scheduled to host Motherwell, which were postponed yesterday.

Also off are the Championship match between Arbroath and Raith Rovers, Cove Rangers v Montrose in League One and two fourth-tier games – Elgin City v Forfar and Stenhousemuir v Peterhead.

Much of the country has been battered by strong winds and heavy rain over the past 48 hours and the SPFL have liaised with Police Scotland before fixtures have been postponed due to safety reasons.

Parts of Scotland have been under a red weather warning – a risk to life – and the authorities are monitoring the ongoing situation.

Still going ahead at the moment, will be the match at Ibrox this afternoon where Hibs are the visitors while there is no update on Celtic’s match against Hearts at Tynecastle tomorrow.
