This is a dead football club

899

We are five days away from the end of the season, Duff and Phelps have spent 10 weeks trying to solicit an offer for the assets of the company and the only one they were in a position to consider has now been withdrawn.

The stadium remains in Craig Whyte’s hands.

The SPL has not offered a place in the league.

The players can choose to become free agents on Sunday.

Duff and Phelps have no money to pay anyone or anything after 31 May.

Are you getting the picture?

Whatever ‘good news’ Duff and Phelps come out with later, or ‘Rangers to benefit from Miller withdrawal’ you read about tomorrow, not one piece of positive news has gone Rangers way in weeks.

This is a dead football club. If there was an accountancy term beyond liquidation, perhaps uber-liquidation, they would be uber-liquidated (there’s not, but if this gets any worse the English language will need some re-work).

Yesterday’s delay was the most complete confirmation possible, for anyone still harbouring doubt, today’s message from Miller should be no surprise to Celtic Quick News readers.

Miller’s parting shot:

“After hearing the message from Rangers supporters and fans loud and clear (“Yank go home!”), I notified the administrators today that I have withdrawn my bid for Rangers”.

…has the makings of a topic for a business doctorate, if anyone is looking for one.  I’d elaborate but reckon we’re all a little carried away at the moment for serious debate.

The histrionics since yesterday and, if you don’t mind me saying, lack of appreciation of these historic times, would dishonour teenage girls (no offense teenage girls).

Please stop with all the silliness, indignation and faux trauma.  Some football supporters have real issues to worry about.

  1. Unless one of these 3 bids that have been tabled to D&P are from a financially illiterate billionaire who is mute, deaf, dumb, white, British and protestant they can forget buying the Rangers

  2. 'crushed nuts?' 'Naw, Layringitis!' on

The taxpayer is owed money by ranjurz, I must commend D&P for the sterling work they’re doing on my behalf.

Did they (rangers fans) really say that to Miller.(BEFORE HE PULLED OUT)

  4. This is so laughable, the state that mob find themselves in…Miller known in the usa as being a turnaround specialist for busineses in crisis, looks to have had a glimpse of the books and said in the words of Duncan bannatyne,…”I’M OUT”…..

Did emdae hear the curn on SSB stating they had 22million to give sally ally and sardine??

  8. Random thought: why are BBC employees bigging up sky? Should they not be angling for live Scottish football to go back onto terrestrial? That would be very good imo. I’d sacrifice one of our midfielders and promote a youth player for a return to free viewing – if the sky myth was true; but I don’t think it is- as long as there’s blue square premier, wwe and rugby on sky they’ll fancy a bit if us, minus huns of course.

What a daft tool Bill Miller is. Rangers – as hopeless and undignified as this club now looks – are better off without him. Waste of space.

CW tells me he predicted Miller bid would crumble to nothing. Tis true – but not as fast as this.

  14. Come on now Bhoys and Ghirls stop all this humour. Dumb and Dumber (aka Laurel and Hardy) will have a new bidder if not three lined up tonight and will be setting deadline for 6pm. The time is firm but the date might be a bit flexible.

Joking apart this is a complete shambles. How Doncaster can stay in his post after allowing the meeting to be postponed when there is not even bidder never mind a buyer is a farce. That man has to go he has no credibility left (assuming he had some in the first place).

The sooner the plug is pulled the better and we can get back to football and who we might get in the CL.

  18. Wondering where ra Bears got Bill Miller’s e-mail address to send their expletive filled messages?

    Step forward one Mark Dingbat:

Bill Miller – Answers are required.

We are still heading into the unknown Bears after months of endless torture.

At the moment we know little about Mr Miller and nothing about how intends to run the club. ASK THE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS NOW RATHER THAN REGRETTING IT LATER.

I urge each and every one of you to take the 10 minutes of your day to contact his company using the various methods listed below. Let’s not sit back and fear what’s coming. Let’s make him aware that we want ANSWERS now. Any questions you have, put them to him. Instead of debating it on a messageboard, send them to him! Let him know that as a supporter, you are fed up of being taken for granted. The more that do this, the better.

Our last owner got into our club without any serious questions asked from the SUPPORT. The same support that Miller will be needing to make this a success.

What with all the discombobulation surrounding rangers, why don’t the administrators Duff and Feltch just put a deadline on any bids. This would surely end any unnecessary bamboozlement.

The worst thing about internet bampottery is the way some people are so quick to jump to conclusions.

Say some fool were to type in William G Miller tax evasion and they were lead here…

    http://law.justia.com/cases/federal/appellate-courts/F2/624/1198/312804/

(with talk of mobsters and crooked DAs) and then the same fool were to wonder if the future Rangers owner had ever been linked to New Jersey. only to find out, thanks to Forbes, that he indeed worked for three companies in the 70s and 80s in Morristown, New Jersey.

There are lots of William G Millers in the US so you would need to establish if those named were, in any way related, of course.

I do hope that some due diligence jobsworth hasn’t made that mistake and cost dear old Rangers a chance to get back on their (brown-brogued) feet

Bill Miller’s jackanapery is all very well, but when is the SFA going to sort out Nel Lennon?

  24. Doncaster has been shown up as the patsy he is , D&P have used him like a copy of Razzle in B wing. The SPL board by default have also been exposed, Regan will be loving this.

  25. Douglas Fraser:

“…The creditors will want to know if these new bids are credible, just as we all do.

They may also be asking about the credibility of Duff and Phelps in their management of this process. They’re looking ever more like Laurel and Hardy”

The same package I had with Sky is slightly cheaper with Virgin. Saving about 30% for six months. I don’t have movie/sports channels by the way. I download movies etc…won’t give money to EPL. Do miss watching Barca/German fitba right enough. Also don’t get Sky Atlantic as yet with Virgin. Big miss for me. But things can be downloaded. Main reason was for the broadband. I’m led to believe sky is more like high speed internet rather than fibre optic broadband as in the case of Virgin. Can really, really see a BIG difference in speed even after a few hours. Highly recommended in terms of broadband. Its a must for me because of the scale of downloaded/activity I go through in a month…Sky was just becoming laboriously slow, like a tap…drip drip…Virgin is more like a constant “flow”; that is with ipad, ipods, three computers, internet tv on most of the time!

  28. Now folks, remember that Healy’s da had a bucket collection at the Linfield game. And there’s the money from the black and red scarves. That should keep D&P in place for another day or two – and give us some more entertainment.
