Three at the back may change tomorrow

187

Liverpool’s domestic invincibility contrasted with their result away to off-form Atletico Madrid last night.  Domestically imperious PSG fared no better in Dortmund.  In Europe, even for the reigning champions, away ties are difficult.

Copenhagen manager, Stale Solbakken, sounded far from confident this week when discussing his team’s chances against Celtic, but tomorrow night, 38,000 people will make the Parken Stadium as intimidating an environment as we have visited this season.

Solbakken noted the success Celtic are having with playing three at the back.  His game plan will be based on exploiting this formation.  The tactical hierarchy is not absolute.  Better systems emerge, are nullified and decline.  Neil Lennon changed formation a back four at Pittodrie on Sunday when we were unable to play through Aberdeen.  We could see the same change mid-game tomorrow.

Some of us will remember a 2001 visit to Scandanavia, when Rosenborg knew a front three would beat Celtic’s 3-5-2 formation.  Martin O’Neill was not one for varying tactics.

  2. The Scotland establishment corrupt? Never.

The influence of David Murray and his Edinburgh Banking Mafia mentor Angus Grossart, both knights of the realm, should never be understated. Once the Queen taps a ceremonial sword on one’s shoulder one is conferred with immunity from public scrutiny and prosecution.

David Murray should be in prison. His father was imprisoned for tax evasion. His son, a member of The Establishment, is untouchable. Any police officer of any rank who pursued David Murray would be quickly shut down by the second lever of Scottish Statehood viz Freemasonry. The Establishment, almost to a man, are Freemasons.

Craig Whyte’s autobiography has shone a spotlight on David Murray. The implications of same will be explored in my password protected article. I cordially invite comments from site members on this public article.

Of course Copenhagen was also the venue for a series of meetings between Niels Bohr and Werner Heisinberg in September 1941. At the time both were Nobel Prize winners in Physics, and acknowledged as the fathers of Quantum Mechanics. No contemporaneous record of the meetings were kept, but Michael Frayn, in his eponymous play of 1998 ‘Copenhagen’ attempted to address it using a dialogue of the meeting of their spirits at some point in the future.

Bohr; “Werner, do you think Lennon will switch from a back three to a a back four in the second half?”

Heisenberg; “That is the Uncertainty Principle right there Niels”

An Tearmann, looking at the SFA notice, it’s the club that’s been sanctioned, not any given player. Both Morelos and Kent have outstanding (and adjourned) cases against them specifically. I think these two cases are for the behaviour of coaching staff.

You may well be correct,my understanding is it is for the gestures made by Kent and Morelos.this appears meeja line with stv etc.

I think this is poor as there is no further (yellow) sanction.i think that’s it….let’s move on(timmy)

What is proven under deletion ?

What is proven under deletion ?

I figure it’s when part of the complaint is dropped and the rest is proven.

Looking round the interwebs, most sources are describing it as a club punishment for the actions of the two players, which frankly is bewildering, unless there remain outstanding cases against the two of them.

Looking at this from earlier in the month, it may indeed be that the club has been charged instead of the players: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51411485

    BewilderedCSC

  9. “The Rangers charges covered gestures made by Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent at Celtic Park and a touchline bust-up at Easter Road.”

So, if it is decided that their actions consituted an offence and the players are found guilty, the players are not punished but their Club is?

    I, too, am bewildered.

  10. “Suppose it’s proved another accused had been involved in the conspiracy, but not in all the sub-heads, you would find him guilty under deletion of the sub-heads he wasn’t involved in”.

found this in the Jury Manual from June 2017 !

It does suggest that some of the charges – on the first count i.e. the Hibs game – were deleted and Sevco were found guilty on the charges which were not deleted. Perhaps the SFA will issue a commentary to this judgement, explaining what went on.

I remain extremely disappointed that neither Kent nor Morelos have been specifically disciplined for their behaviour – the message may be that this is quite acceptable to the SFA ?

Agreed, bit bemused here too, seems as tho it is a club charge.

Is this the sort of charge and fine that can be put up retrospectively? In that v Hamilton ref dealt with griff jumping mullyins of times all over the hamn players heid by putting up a team charge as meeja review pressured for action, unhappy that ref had already dealt with this.but it seems to be case, no(definitely no) more yellows tho.

Athletico Madrid had not won any of their last eight matches and yet halted the runaway train and World champions Liverpool last night.

Regarding our throw-ins and some of the comments here today, I’ve often remarked in the past that Celtic’s are appaling and nothing has changed. Best of look Hoops tomorrow night.

  20. I have said on here more than once that Celtic never seem to practise shies. In my 60+ years watching the Hoops, I can’t recall any time we were any good at it. Even now, when Bauer makes the odd appearance, we never seem to use his ability in throwing the ball.

In actual fact Churchill did not offer a united Ireland in return for free state participation in the war. He offered to encourage the unionist majority to consent to it but only after the war was finished. Devalera was many things, few of them complementary in my view, but no fool so he did not take the bait.

The unmistakeable fact is that Ireland is an Island . Whole and undivided . Irrespective of political manoeuverings in the `20 s . Of convenience .

When that fact is accepted , as in time it surely must be by all sides ,then the ” reunification ” of Ireland becomes inevitable.

My personal view is that Brexit will hasten and has hastened that process.

Although the process will be hindered and delayed by unhelpful commentary .

I don`t need to go into specifics.
