Ticketus secure their £40m of tickets

1467

None of you will be surprised at today’s opinion from the Court of Session in Edinburgh that Rangers’ deal with Ticketus cannot be set aside, despite some absolutely pitiful reporting to the contrary.  It’s fine to get things wrong every now and then, we all get Duff information on occasion, but please….

It’s worth recording, Ticketus may only have paid £20m + vat but the tickets they own are worth in the region of £40m. High risk investments require a high return.

Rangers’ administrators argued that the deal inhibited their ability to rescue the company but the heroic Blue Knights submitted a bid accommodating Ticketus, undermining the administrators’ argument. If only the Blue Knights were in a position to strike a deal with Craig Whyte they could be regarded as helping the situation instead of being hapless fools.

Next up is HMRC, who have not capitulated and agreed to accept a few pennies in the pound.  They have not agreed to accept anything less than all monies owed.  Soon after that we will hear that no court has been able to set aside Craig Whyte’s security over Ibrox.  The most underappreciated man no longer in Scotland remains the only person with a reasonable chance of phoenix-ing Rangers.

The first 26,000 (approx.) tickets sold to each Rangers game for the next three years are owned by Ticketus.  In the event a phoenix occurs, Rangers will have to revert back to budgets from their glory days of the 1950s – we will soon be told this is a great omen.

If you are going to Ibrox on Sunday, take care and enjoy your visit.  Take photographs of the occasion and send them in, we’ll perhaps use them on a future edition of CQN Magazine.  It may prove to be the end of an era.

If you’ve not read the article below, about one of Jinky’s great performances, do so now.

Issue 7 of CQN Magazine is out now! Go to the dedicated magazine site here to read it properly (which you’ll not be able to do below).

I was down there last year taking a few pictures, Sub Club etc and I wanted to get the bridge looking over to the old Star Club when two Huns and a dug came bumbling by and onto the bridge with a plastic bag bulging with a carry oot.

Now ah wished them no ill but being drunk in charge of a carry oot and a dug whilst crossing a bridge proved to be too much for our intrepid pondlife, their faces were a picture when a two litre bottle of something hit the deck with an almighty crash.

Cue huns with vacant looks pondering the liquid mess upon the concrete and me departing with a faint smile of Karma upon ma coupon!!

That fabulous salt delivery system that is McDonalds is beautifully framed by my window.

    I don’t think it’s ever looked so pretty…

  3. So if they sell 30,000 flags at 2quid each, that’s 6000 quid in VAT for HMRC isn’t it? Who is responsible for administering all this ‘wealth’ flowing into the abyss?

Likewise for the various SOS games they have arranged. Are these being properly audited with full tax paid to HMRC?

I suppose it will all just be added to the long list of debts which TFOD feel they don’t have to pay simply because they are the pee-pill.

The lord Clyde used to be run by a Celtic fan, last time I was in about 5 years ago. I heard that the star on west gate had become a Celtic bar – it had Celtic decals on the windows. Would be worth phoning may have changed since.

  7. I have just finished reading a new book, due out on April 5th.

    It’s called:-

    CELTIC

    A Biography in Nine Lives

    by

    Kevin Mc.Carra.

Kevin, as we know, is a football correspondent for the Guardian.

The book deals with the story of the club, from inception to the present day.

It builds it’s story around nine individuals who played a prominent part in the history. Men from John Glass, Willie Maley, through to Martin O’Neil.

Interviews with such as, Henrik, Fergus, WGS, Roy Keane and, of course, Neil Lennon.

The book puts meat on the bones of many periods of the club and I highly recommend it to Celtic supporters.

Some of Kevin’s opinions I don’t agree with, but, that’s what opinions are.

I get the same old dream, same time every night Fall to the ground and I wake up So I get out of bed –put on my shoes and in my head Thougts like that since our break-up

These four walls are closing in Look at the fix you’ve put me in

Since you’ve been gone Since you’ve been gone I’m out of my head, can’t take it Could I be wrong, but since you’ve been gone You cast a spell, dont break it Oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh Since you’ve been gone

So in the night I stand beneath the back street light I read the words that you sent to me I can take the afternoon, but night-time comes arround to soon You can’t know what you mean to me
