Watching players on the edge

1018

I like watching a professional perform on the edge. We watched Anthony Stokes do just that at the Cup Final, where despite two superb goals from Gary Hooper, he was clearly head and shoulders above everyone else on the field. This has not always been the way for Anthony, so has too often failed to command a starting place, and live up to the form he promised all those years ago at Falkirk.

Celtic have put a contract in front of him but it will be considerably lighter than the contract Hooper has no intentions of signing. It’s very much up to Anthony now. Deliver and the riches will follow. Don’t bet against him.

Only just catching up on the somewhat demeaning promotion of a football club hiring a new team bus. Every time I see the coach/manager at that club, buses, or to be more precise, Blakey, from On the Buses comes to mind. These people lend themselves to parody so unselfishly.

Coach/Manager

Inspector Blakey

The fascinating part is, only one of the two above was trying to be ridiculous. You enjoy another day of being a Celtic fan.

  6. It was pretty much common knowledge that £9 Million of the share money was required for URGENT maintenance work at Ibrox.

Really quite stunning news that £1 Million of savings on CURRENT maintenance work has been achieved.

I hope people are safe, pretty sure GCC H&S department will be all over this for licence issue for the new season.

When are sevco’s audited account due and have they produced any since they were wrongly allowed entry into SF…??

@Auldheid morning Auldheid, when do the audited accounts have to be in by?hope you can help

    @Bthebhoy Read 8.11 at

    http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/resources/documents/ClubLicensing/Part2:National/Part2Sect8_Legal,Admin,FinanceandCodesofPractice%20Criteria.pdf … then 8.12 & 8.13.

Basically they have missed the boat for 8.11. (and I think 8.13 should apply but SFA might try exceptional dispensation route under 8.12 Ist Filing date for RIFC 16/05/2014

@Bthebhoy I got filing date for RIFC accounts from here

Inrestingly the SFA will be publishing turnover and wages and wages to turnover ratio on their web site. Not sure when probably in the coming month to make sense.

  9. The Battered Bunnet on

In terms of Sevco’s wages/ turnover ratio, it’s about £100 wages per member of staff per turnover per day, although the management team only go for turnovers if the steak bakes are sold out.

  10. If we don’t announce a new bus before the first CL qualifier then the whole board should resign in my opinion.

I would have thought that most businesses cash at bank every day -at about £5 per ticket it is a lot of journeys

Mind you maybe they need ,that amount of cash on hand for……other things

  12. The Battered Bunnet on

McGill’s turned over £15M last published financial year. £100,000 cash isn’t a great deal in terms of the weekly cash take – it accounts for maybe 3 days only of fares.

However, you’d need a vehicle with pretty good suspension to take the weight of £100,000 in exact change please.

Clarity of thought & basic rule comprehension will never catch on.

The most alarming comment is from the SFA spokesman who doesn’t appear to know anything about the relevant rules either.

Assuming of course that the unnamed spokesman was not misquoted or even speaking under condition of anonymity during a covert lunch date.

I saw that Fifa docked 3 points from Ethiopia for fielding an ineligible player. They awarded a 3-0 win to Botswana, who lost the original game 2-1. As a result of this decision, Botswana have won the World Cup Qualifying Group A.

Perhaps that is another rule scenario that the SFA spokesman also fails to fully grasp.
