I like watching a professional perform on the edge. We watched Anthony Stokes do just that at the Cup Final, where despite two superb goals from Gary Hooper, he was clearly head and shoulders above everyone else on the field. This has not always been the way for Anthony, so has too often failed to command a starting place, and live up to the form he promised all those years ago at Falkirk.
Celtic have put a contract in front of him but it will be considerably lighter than the contract Hooper has no intentions of signing. It’s very much up to Anthony now. Deliver and the riches will follow. Don’t bet against him.
Only just catching up on the somewhat demeaning promotion of a football club hiring a new team bus. Every time I see the coach/manager at that club, buses, or to be more precise, Blakey, from On the Buses comes to mind. These people lend themselves to parody so unselfishly.
The fascinating part is, only one of the two above was trying to be ridiculous. You enjoy another day of being a Celtic fan.

19:10 on 1 July, 2013Mick TTThanks! I will hopefully find the second certificate. I seem to remember getting a yearly dividend? Or did that get signed back?I packed all away when we moved to Canada in 2001. Always said would frame once we had a permanent home…this time for sure in my man cave! Not going back now.
2nd certificate….? Think there was only one.
HH
Mick TT…second cert was an assumption on my part. There was something that confirmed the preference shares? I have a vague memory of collecting the cert (s) from the skybox at Celtic Park!
Maybe I am over thinking what we received as new shareholders?
Mick TT, Prodigal TM
There were 2 certificates. I looked mine out last week so I could pass the info onto Canamalar 1. One for the ordinary, another for the preference

Stand corrected on Lassad if he has been released, Celtic kept that very quiet given he had signed for two years.
*Unlike sevco who are proudly announcing the release of 2 dumpling centre half’s.

Thanks gents. I remember the challenge finding $650 post Christmas!! But just couldn’t miss out. What a thrill getting shares in Celtic.
Tontine
Aye right enough – they were tupe’d and wouldn’t be a problem thats why they disappeared on loan for a year.
Still not seen a single Celtic confirmation Lassad being released.

Christmas 1994 – just after we lost to Rovers. No doubt in my mind about buying. There were thousands like me and us. We were gash on the park but it’s a time I look back on with great affection all the same
Jimbo
jimbo67 I sat in the Broomloan Rd stand that day 10 rows from the front remember the pain. But I was going to do anything to buy shares……
I went to an event in the Albany? were TB talked about the plans for the future and the hope that everyone would buy shares. Left the meeting feeling so proud.
Following the Celtic in those days was a social event as much as a football day out. Great days out with great pals. We are all over the world now..
Also found Glory and the Dream signed by Derek Whyte, Anton Rogan and Stephen Kean!
Now what happened to those 3 ex Celts?
Need to move house more that once ever 12 years..things you find :-)

I wonder if the reason for the new sevco superbus is so that sevco can travel to away games on the morning of the matches as is the way of lower league teams.
Do away with those pesky, expensive overnight stays before games. . .
Portray it as a positive new addition, as opposed to a cost cutting measure and another little reminder of their place in the grand scheme of things.
blantyretim Its was Stephen Kean. He came with Anton and Derek to our CSC dance. The Anton Rogan that left from the Crookston Hotel in G52. I remember chatting with him. He was a reserve team player around that time.

The loss to Raith Rovers saw me 300 miles away in Birmingham on what was another personal failed mission. Got back to work and even my Hun work mates didn’t slag me I was so down. Didn’t last long. Still go to the matches with the guys I went to the games with in those days. I think that in that season there was a growing feeling that poor though the team often was that as a club we were emerging from the darkness.
Jimbo
Prodigal. .sorry
I forgot about ex Blackburn manager..
Remember the first game the new club played last year?
Away game in the South of Scotland in a cup wasn’t it?
Afterwards the timternet lit up with the rolling rumourflash that the sevco coach had broken down on the way back?
Then somebody posted a picture of one of those wee estate shopper buses blocking the Sheriffhall roundabout?
No idea as to the veracity of the incident or the photo but I laughed like a drain at that one…maybe others have different memories:)))
Jabba ‘the finest swordsman in all of France’ ids back on RM.

Good night all
LISBON, July 1 (Reuters) – Benfica TV became a pay channel on Monday and will be the sole broadcaster for the club’s Portuguese Premier League home matches – a groundbreaking move among Europe’s top clubs.
On top of a fee paid for a basic cable TV package, fans in Portugal will have to pay some 10 euros ($13) per month to watch the Lisbon club’s matches played at the Luz stadium on television.
Club President Luis Filipe Vieira hailed the initiative as “historic” and said the deal meant that “Benfica became the first club in the world to fully exploit its TV rights”.
Fans can subscribe to the channel through the country’s two largest cable operators: Portugal Telecom and Zon. Angolan cable operator Zap will also offer it.
A club spokesman said Benfica were the first big European club to screen league games on their own pay TV channel.
Earlier this year, Benfica reached a deal with the English Premier League for exclusive screening rights in Portugal of the competition over the next three seasons.
Until now, some 70 percent of the broadcasting rights revenues estimated at 75 million euros per season have gone to the “big-three” soccer clubs – Benfica, Sporting and Porto.
As in neighbouring Spain, television contracts in Portugal are negotiated on a club-by-club basis, unlike in the English Premier League and Italy’s Serie A, where collective bargaining deals are struck.
So was I and thats what I told them ,they will negotiate, drive a hard bargain
