What chance we see rival SPLs next season?

1081

I wonder if we will see two rival Scottish Premier Leagues next season?  We could see a SPL consistent with the threats made to SFL clubs last week, let’s call it SPL Loyal, with Hibs, KIlmarnock and a few others.  They would sit atop a feeder league containing whoever they could attract from the SFL and Sevco, who due to fan power would be excluded from the top division, no matter how few teams that division had.

Meanwhile a rival SPL could setup, let’s call it SPL Solvent, with Celtic, those from the Gang of 10 who realise they are better-off participating in a league which is likely to survive until next May, along with the teams who last season finished near the top Scottish Football league.

SPL Solvent would make no threats to exclude SFL clubs who were due promotion on merit, and would therefore attract the balance of SFL clubs; which is likely to be the overwhelming majority.  This league would contain the only club with the ability to underwrite the commitments needed to bring broadcasters and commercial partners on-board.  It would also be free of, moral and ethical questions, where clubs are united with their fans on what it means to organise sporting events.

It’s not the worst idea floated in recent weeks.

I really rated Kerr too – but the guy just kept on getting lobbed!!!

  2. Iniesta reminds you why if Celtic ceased to exist you would still love football.

  3. I want Italy to win but right now this is is the inverse of when Milan beat Barca in the 94 CL final when the Roosineri won 4-0 when Barca’s front two were meant to be miles ahead Of Milan’s . Spain has nullified the threat of Pirlo and taly will do well to lose by only 2

  5. and Jordi Alba was released by Barca at 18 . just bought him back for £13m.

Tonight , so far , has been good despite my coupon going tits up. Spain are doing what I wanted them to do, move Silva about and show us how to press up the park, negating Pirlo.

Looking forward to the second half , Italy look better with Chiellini off and the dodgy hairstyle guy on.

  14. I thought this tie was one of the outstanding match-ups in the Groups, and wasn’t disappointed – this game is the same – whilst Spain are 2 up, Italy have contributed big time, but just can’t break though. The 2nd goal was extraordinary – if you look at it a few seconds before the goal, you think there is absolutely nothing on, but a combination of great run, slide rule pass, wonderful 1st touch and a clinical finish changed all that. Brilliant.

Need a we bit of help from you Bhoys n Ghirls. Please give me your opinion on the following:-

Smashing Milk Bottles has donated a Signed 2011/2012 champions hooped shirt that comes in black presentation box to help raise money for Wee_Oscar.

Now. We have a couple of options with regards how we can make best use of this

    a) Auction (for the richer Bhoys)

    or

    b) Raffle (affording more Bhoys and Ghirls the opporchancity to win this item).

Problem with raffle though is that we don’t want to pitch a ticket price too low. Nor do we want to pitch it to high. So if we went for a raffle do you ghuys and ghals think £20 a ticket would be too much. Did consider £10 a ticket but reckon we could get more for short if auctioned than what we’d get if we went with raffle at that price.

So would you be willing to pay £20 for a raffle ticket to win the shirt?

Which ever would raise the most money, I’d certainly buy a raffle ticket.

But if someone wants to offer a lot of money, take it.
