What price an SPFL game against Celtic in America? £2m? More? You can’t blame Dundee for being enterprising but I can’t see this initiative happening.
Celtic are the Great Gravy Train of Scottish football. We defy the status of our league to reach European Nirvana, which enriches us but also pays a healthy dividend to our supportive (cough) domestic competitors. The Caravan of Celtic arrives once or twice a year at each location, bringing paying fans and TV cameras. Therein lies the business model of many Scottish football clubs.
This is fair enough, but there are limits beyond which it’s inappropriate to spread the Gravy.
Don’t think I’m being sentimental here. Dundee can play their home games wherever they like as far as I’m concerned. They can move them to the US, in fact, if they convince the residents of Dingwall to do likewise, I’d have no problem with the ideal. Just so long as it’s consistent with a significant growth strategy for Celtic. The odd £1m here or there isn’t worth it for us otherwise.

That goes for any countries Association.
They do not define any football allegiance I have.
The SFA, in my lifetime, have done nothing that would lead me to support them.
I abhor the notion that if someone wraps a flag around something, then we owe that something our support or allegiance.

I can go along with your basic outlook in relation to the Scottish game.
The only reason I take an interest in the Scottish cups is that my fellow Tims do . And Brendan does.
The SPL is different. A means to an end . It matters.
The other stuff is a showpiece for the Scottish game for whose institutions I hold no respect.
The Scotland team is different when it`s coach is Gordon and Celtic players are involved .
Impossible for me not to support the team and my fellow Jocks , in spite of the unclean elements.
Nationalism ? Yes . I can understand . Its hard though not to have an affinity for yer ain folk . Although you may not live in the same country as yer ain folk. :-)
Healthy sporting competition between different streets ,villages , towns ,cities , countries is normal and natural practice.
