Whyte opens door on finances as securitisation confirmed

991

Craig Whyte laid out Rangers finances in a statement today, released in response to the Daily Record’s series of articles on the club this morning.  Whyte explained Rangers operating costs are around £45m while their income is approximately £35m, adding that the club needs to “live within its means”.

He confirmed the central allegation from the Record, that Rangers have securitised income from future season ticket sales in order to provide money for the club to pay its current costs, while denying they owe £5m VAT.

I have refreshed the page several times since an initially read and see no attempt to address the glaring question, if Rangers are spending tomorrow’s income today, what happens tomorrow?  It beggars belief that someone thought it was a good idea to confirm a fact like without addressing the enormous question now hanging over the club.

Maybe an octopus ate Craig’s homework.

I’ve no idea how much money Rangers have in the bank right now, at this time on transfer deadline day, no one even seems to know if they have sold prize-asset, Jelavic, to Everton, but no matter how much of the securitised income remains, if this is not a dead parrot, it’s in severely poor health.

More power to you, Craig.  I’ll not have a word said against you.

That Battle is over, now it is time to overcome an even bigger obstacle, Winning the CL from an even more handicapped position.

There is absolutely no doubt we can win it from the SPL.

The deflation is going to hit like a ton of bricks and the GOOD Ship Celtica is steady as she goes.

It is imperative we get into the Group stages this season.

I don’t like hearing about ordinary (+club deck) fans getting shafted, these people put in money they probably cannae afford.

I’ve had a few tools nabbed and been totally raging but after listening to a few preachers etc, it is always a case of that person needing that tool more than me.

Let’s get the league won regardless Celts, we need to stay focussed.

Yes, and hopefully ALL of them will want to stay on for at least another 6 months when they experience winning the League with Celtic. ;)

    These Bhoys are commodities unfortunately.

I hope Celtic do not have our Bhoys going around the world this close season. Neil will get us in to the CL proper because Celtic won’t be going too far away, I HOPE.

I have heard similar m8. Esp re. the polis, certain ‘high heid yins’ in the Tax office were briefed on it at tea time last night about it becoming a target after whats gonnae happen today or tomorrow. Considering what i was told about 8pm last night, I’m certain somethings on today/tomorrow. The words ‘winding up order’ featured.

I think Celtic has grown further when we have won nothing and I think this should be a shining example to ALL of Scottish football.

The amount of funds raised for good causes from this website alone is incredible.

The talent is here in Scotland but there is a dark force that is so short sighted and so bitter and so controlling that it is unwilling to give it up easy.

I kinda like the way that CW is running rangers (into the ground) and I’m very wary of the LL rounding on him, the newco game is underway methinks.

We most certainly have moved into the Newco game

Graham Spiers comment on Snyde that collectively the establishment would not let Rangers go away was very revealing

The ole Rankers board have clearly cemented the auld alliances by giving succulent lamb to the the DR and the BBC both being 100% pro Rankers Newco we can expect the rest of the LL to be running pro Newco propaganda as well

If Celtic are going to object to Newco now is time to make your move

As for Celtic supporters like me i will be continuing my away bhoycott, its the only action that makes sense, as Newco in the SPL will happen

Got a wee day off, so Hi Big chap.

  17. Here’s a strange one as the headline story from the Sun:

SMILING Rangers star David Healy gives the thumbs-up as he poses for a snap with a former Loyalist terror boss.

Striker Healy, 32, grinned and even threw his arm around the shoulder of ex-UDA brigadier Jackie McDonald during a trip to Belfast.

And the photo sparked outrage last night, given McDonald’s sinister past — which saw him jailed for ten years in 1990 for threats to kill, extortion and blackmail.

One furious Irishman, now living in Glasgow, said: “I could not believe my eyes when I saw Healy pictured with McDonald.

“Rangers need to have a serious word with Healy. He should set a better example to kids.”

But in 2008 the Northern Ireland ace sparked fury by pretending to play the flute at Celtic supporters while starring for Fulham.

Later that year he received death threats for saying his goal “famine” had ended when he scored against San Marino. Hoops fans accused him of endorsing banned terrace chant the Famine Song.

Last night Rangers said: “David was visiting relatives and friends in Belfast and was asked to pose for numerous pictures.”

  18. Now that the endgame is about to be played out I’ve really got to hand it to CQN, RTC and Phil Mac Giolla Bhain who have provided a path through the machinations at Rangers and the smoke screen provided, up until now, by the acquiescent Scottish media.

Craig Whyte is fast being revealed as the biggest patsy there’s been since Lee Harvey Oswald……..and here’s a little song for Mr Whyte

    Mr Bad Example

  19. I, for one, am very happy with the business done in this window. For the first time since Seville does it feel like the board have best utilised resources to give the manager all the tools he needs to succeed. We could have bought another centre-half, but I think we are actually covered there now that Lenny has actually managed to get performances from Loovens and Dan. We could have moved on some peripheral squad players, but now is not the time to disrupt a winning dressing-room – do that in the summer. Until then, Lenny has to have every player fired-up and ready to run through walls to stop this reign of Govan terror. (I just hope we have adequate cover at right-back!)

All this talk about Rangers being done, or that they have sold the title, is nonsense. They have a lot of adequate players remaining with nothing to lose, who will kick, elbow and dive their way to three points most weeks, and the MIB will be on-hand to help.

We’ll have to win this by being 200% better than them.

  20. petec –

I’ve taken blantyretim’s advice of yesterday morning and I’m resplendent in blue today. They don’t do irony. I do, which is why my shirts look smart ;-)

Being off work has been difficult. though it gave me the full day yesterday for sky sports on the tv, talksport on the radio juggling between CQN and the rangerstaxcase blog.

What a day to be a Tim, awesome.

I love the fact you will go in with a big BLUE KIPPER.

That is why Celtic is So very Special.

I will be brutally honest m8 I’m looking more for a person being in a team and taking it from there. My bhoy is very shy and just really testing the Celtic cyberspace waters as I would like him to be able to train a few nights a week, more than anything else, he is not active at all when he is at his mums.

The taxmans taken all your dough – will you survive – naw youll no

Your cheatings plain for all to see – but welcome to division three

    Rangers bye bye

  24. Don’t miss the point…………..

    Expect nothing from that organisation.

They won’t deliver anything we don’t know already or at least suspect. Certainly not News…..

They don’t seek to address the issues of Thems, they merely want to conveniently wrap up the current stooge in as much of the brown stuff as they can and then start the real sales drive for the next mob that come in – (in their eyes free from any baggage)

This is about Thems not Him.

This is about the last twenty odd years, not the last five minutes.

    I don’t buy it.

    Petec,

I hope you don’t mind me commenting. Check out the community centre down next to Morrisons on Stewartfield way. There was a team training down there each night for boys of your sons age, however, I am a bit sketchy on details – Stewartfield thistle seems to ring a bell but could be wrong. I am sure the staff there would be able to point you in right direction with contact details etc.

Re the Healy photo with the loyalist. If I were the chef sacked from Ibrox over the Tepublican leaning photos on my Facebook I would be a happy man this morning. unless Rangers take disciplinary action against Healy, that should be an open and shut unfair disciplinary case. Got to love the Rangers bigots, idiots.
