Whyte opens door on finances as securitisation confirmed

991

Craig Whyte laid out Rangers finances in a statement today, released in response to the Daily Record’s series of articles on the club this morning.  Whyte explained Rangers operating costs are around £45m while their income is approximately £35m, adding that the club needs to “live within its means”.

He confirmed the central allegation from the Record, that Rangers have securitised income from future season ticket sales in order to provide money for the club to pay its current costs, while denying they owe £5m VAT.

I have refreshed the page several times since an initially read and see no attempt to address the glaring question, if Rangers are spending tomorrow’s income today, what happens tomorrow?  It beggars belief that someone thought it was a good idea to confirm a fact like without addressing the enormous question now hanging over the club.

Maybe an octopus ate Craig’s homework.

I’ve no idea how much money Rangers have in the bank right now, at this time on transfer deadline day, no one even seems to know if they have sold prize-asset, Jelavic, to Everton, but no matter how much of the securitised income remains, if this is not a dead parrot, it’s in severely poor health.

More power to you, Craig.  I’ll not have a word said against you.

  1. I don’t know about you, but I was appalled to see that UDA guy posing for a picture with a known hun “striker”.

What will this do for the peace-process?

    I demand a full apology.

  2. I think if given the chance Juarez can do what Neilly wants Brown to do, but the difference that Juarez can do it a lot better and he has ability. Brown is asked to show aggresion, to close down the opposition, protect the RB, to be the enforcer and get into the box. IMO Juarez can do all of them better than Brown. Brown only wins in the the stupid bookings count!

Prayers for you Big chap, I am guessing this is on your mind Constantly.

    It makes saying anything easy.

That really shook me more than anything ever did and still my parents protected me as much as they could from any bad influence.

Thank You very much for this info, I just want the wee man to be playing as often as possible. He is an excellent trainer as well and being in a group who actually listen to the coach would be an added bonus.

The question that was raised over Craig Whyte´s ability to get a multi tens of million pound loan based on income from a company that he was yet to own does not seem to have been answered ?

    Or have I missed a post ?

Imagine you are going to buy your local Palais Cinema make it a goer.

You go to the bank manager to discuss this proposition ?

He laughs in your face and he tells you to GTF

You then go to the provi man … he laughs in your face.

You then go to Dodgy loans r us ?

They ask you how are you going to finance this deal ?

You tell them that you are prepared to directly give them the ticket money for the next four years from that cinema

Now at this juncture the Dodgy loans r us either laugh in your face and if they dont then they simply want a piece of the action

So the question is would Ticketus be interested in being involved and being a long time major player running the huns ?

I think that was the thrust of Alan Johnsons argument on BBC last night.

Ticketus will vie with HMRC as being the major creditor then.

Can Ticketus and HMRC come to an arrangement about keeping the huns alive to bleed them dry ? serious question as it would seem that if this is the outline then the huns will be around for the next 50 years bleeding a fully packed Ibrox dry of any profits.

Yeah as a business plan it has serious flaws.

So with the Jelly money the huns limp on paying what needs to be paid until the court case publishes it´s findings. Ally will stay in situ. Mibbery will be so rampant I can see the SFA putting five stars on their shirts. Kyle Lafferty will like Novo, Boyd and Miller will over night a scoring sensation in Scotland become.

Is it only then that things will become apparent.

Anyone else convinced the judges will delay their decision yet again until say the summer ?

For the record. I believe Craig Whyte. He might be being economical with the truth but that´s a hell of a lot more than the whoppers coming out from the previous regime.

    Hail Hail

  5. Amadeus – sounds like you are jesting? For what it’s worth, I think this photo clearly shows Healy knows exactly who he’s with, hence the thumbs up. It reminds the public that Rangers players continue to enjoy a cozy relationship with the UDA and that the bullets and bombs campaign is inextricably linked to this.

No doubt a coincidence, but interesting it appears on the same day in the Sun that the Record has a big article on Gail Sheridan being called an effin Catholic Cow in a hate mail campaign.

  6. I echo the sentiments regarding Reamon and have made a donation today to the goodchild foundation in his memory. I gently suggest that we all do likewise.

It’s what we are about, and thank God that it is so.

We will win this league for you Reamon. I hope the club will find a way to acknowledge this.

Totally agree with you re: Juarez – Brown

Juarez is box 2 box, Brown is a headless chicken! IMO!

  8. Jackie Macdonald was instrumental in ensuring loyalists continued to support the peace process. he would be regarded as a community activist in this part of the world. it is also important to note he was good friends with former president Mary Mcaleese and her husband and was regularly photographed in their company.

it is a typical tabloid trash non story

  10. I have heard from a good Everton source that the huns insisted on 7 day terms for the Jelavic transfer fee. Cash to Rangers is £4m. Money to Rapid and agents takes the deal officially to just over £5m, and Rapid keep the sell on clause with Everton.

West Ham were offering more but only a smaller amount up front and that is all they were interested in. Jelavic’s wage demands were huge and Everton nearly sent him home at 10am. I didn’t find out if there was any sacrifice at the huns end to force it through. Either they did or Jelavic dropped his demands considerably, or somewhere in between, but Everton don’t do deals that don’t fit their structure.

Scott Brown has picked up 2 bookings this season. One for Scotland, and the other against Udinese.

Juarez has picked up 6 bookings in Spain in 15 appearences.

Efrain Juarez may turn out to be a good player for us and I hope he does, but at the minute he is no Scott Brown.

  12. may god bless the family of reamonn gormley.

shortly after his death the justice minister kenny mackaskill was quoted in the media as saying that knife crime in this country is down but we are not getting complacent.

no reassurance in that statement for reamonn’s family.

the individual who released the violent thug back onto the streets of blantyre should receive the same sentence as the murderer.

that would concentrate the minds of the law makers and those in the justice system.

the life of one reamonn gormley is worth more than one hundred thousand violent criminals.

  13. think we should listen to UC on this, he knows what is happening..

just another story to stoke up trouble in Scotland led by hun media…

  14. On the Healy/Jackie McDonald photo. Its nothing to get upset about. He has been welcomed to Aras An Uachtaran by the President of the Republic Mary McAleese (ex president now of course) and has played his part in the peace process.

    Its a non story

Of course if it was Neil Lennon embracing Gerry Adams I think there might be a bit more outrage in the Scottish Press

  17. I’m keen to see Pavel Brozeck in the hoops.

Paul 67, listed amongst his many qualities, his ability to play as the lone striker.

I feel Neil stumbled across the best formula for the lone striker role when, he played Stokes up as the leading striker v’s Rennes away.

Anyway, the more options the better.

    Hail! Hail!
