This year some of your money went to Whizz-Kidz, who help some of the estimated 70,000 children in the UK waiting for the right wheelchair. They not only provide equipment and life skills, but also offer support to young people. Take a look at this video to find out the kind of way your cash has changed a life:
We’ve just sent off money to Action on Depression, a Scottish charity working with some of the 10% of the population who suffer from this illness at some point in their lives. Like all of the recipients of your money this year, there is a feeling that we provided no more than a drop in the ocean of what is required, but with depression we felt that bringing the subject out into the open was as important as the money donated.
This illness can do enormous damage lurking in the shadows, let’s kick it into the light.
Many of you will remember the Martin Chamber Ecuador Trust. Fr Martin left Scotland some years ago to help some of the most deprived people on earth. In his words, this is why we helped:
“I would say that people should care about the poor people of Ecuador firstly because they are our brothers and sisters. On top of that their needs are great: they have no running water, no proper sanitation, no sewerage system and poor electricity. They have little access to education or to medical care and they are crammed together in bamboo huts – mile upon mile of houses, millions of people living below the poverty line. That’s why people should care.”
You gave to the Ronnie Coyle Benefit Trust, sadly, Ronnie is no longer with us, you donated to the Aberdour PTA, from the Fife village that hosts our summer get-together, and you gave a donation to The Haven, who help people with life limiting illness from Glasgow and Lanarkshire. Their story is available in a short video here, take a look at what your money is doing.
All in I’d say you did very well. Very well indeed. Have a great Christmas, you deserve it.

Paul, a very timely story, there is never a shortage of the good that we can do.
We may be in the middle of a financial meltdown but when you look around at all of the gifts and presents that many of us will have received today it is appaling that many millions around the world have nothing, we live in a devastatingly cruel little world.
How do we change this, very difficult but I think by being truely ‘Celtic minded’ in how we live our lives we can, in some small way, help those less fortunate.
Have a merry christmas and if you get the chance take the time to think of those less fortunate.

Merry Christmas to all CQNers, may only the best happen to you and yours.
A quick story on what Celtic means to one young Celt. Son of Sonofaderryman has recently became the proud owner of his first season ticket, however it is the ticket that does not cover the R***** games. He has always been mad about the bhoys, but since he got his season ticket his love of the team has to put it mildly “rocketed” to an even higher level. Even when we were miles behind in the league race, he was adament that we would turn it around. This morning, Santa (with a little help from Swanseabhoy! –cheers much appreciated) delivered him a pair of tickets for Wednesday nights game. I cannot put into words his reaction, i honestly dont believe winning the Euromillions would have bettered it for him. 3 points on Wednesday would top it all.
He just cant get enough!!!!!!!!!
Hail Hail.
Merry Christmas to all Cqners and Thanks to Paul for providing us the platform to share our love of the Hoops
and a special thanks to Pauls family for sharing him
Merry Christmas
Paul,
Your marvellous creation gave us all the forum to come together. Without it, our collective efforts in the Celtic spirit simply could not have happened.
If I can get soap boxy for a moment, I’m particularly pleased to see a mental health charity added to the roll of excellent causes assisted by CQN. This is a particularly difficult time of year for many of us who have mental health conditions and all money donated to the fine charities working in the field will be very well used – and will make a real difference to people’s lives.
Merry Christmas to all CQNers, wherever you are!

To all the Celtic family I wish you all a very happy and peaceful Christmas. I has been a pleasure reading everyone’s thoughts on all things Celtic and many other topics too. It has been a tough year for many and our club is very much a release valve for some. Let’s look forward to a good 2012 where we will be champions of Scotland and maybe have another couple of trophies tucked up along side for good measure. Enjoy the rest of your day!!!

……….. and as if by magic, following my post of 08:07 this morning, Paul67 rolls in with a Christmas message which is right on the money.
No tales of yesteryear here, no referring back to the dreamy mists of time, but a reflection on this current year– last month, last summer, last week! This is the now.. and hopefully tomorrow.
No dreamy notions or wishes or hopes– all hard facts as to what DID happen in this last twelve months or so– great stuff!!!
Great post,Paul– we can and do make a difference in the name of the club and yes well done to all those who help in each and every little way.
Merry christmas to all bhoys and ghirls all over timland
hail hail
Hi Paul67, a very merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thank you for the excellent work you do on the site, what a wonderful thing you have created. The site, the people it brings together, help offered and given is truly, truly inspiring.
It may be something massive like an appeal for blood donations or as simple as a lift back to Glasgow to see the game.
But what you have created is definitely a force for good in our community.
Hail Hail.
A Merry Christmas to all in the Celtic Family , best wishes for the New Year.
Thanks to Paul and the fellow CQN ers for an amazing site , it never fails to amaze me how the members on this site respond to the highs and lows that we all go through. The Celtic Family is a truly amazing thing and no matter what they try to do to us they can never take that away .
God Bless Celtic and it’s Supporters.
Dear Baby Jesus,
Please bless us all with Your Peace at this special time.
Hail hail. Ave Maria.
