You did this

470

This year some of your money went to Whizz-Kidz, who help some of the estimated 70,000 children in the UK waiting for the right wheelchair.  They not only provide equipment and life skills, but also offer support to young people.  Take a look at this video to find out the kind of way your cash has changed a life:

We’ve just sent off money to Action on Depression, a Scottish charity working with some of the 10% of the population who suffer from this illness at some point in their lives.  Like all of the recipients of your money this year, there is a feeling that we provided no more than a drop in the ocean of what is required, but with depression we felt that bringing the subject out into the open was as important as the money donated.

This illness can do enormous damage lurking in the shadows, let’s kick it into the light.

Many of you will remember the Martin Chamber Ecuador Trust.  Fr Martin left Scotland some years ago to help some of the most deprived people on earth.  In his words, this is why we helped:

“I would say that people should care about the poor people of Ecuador firstly because they are our brothers and sisters.  On top of that their needs are great: they have no running water, no proper sanitation, no sewerage system and poor electricity.  They have little access to education or to medical care and they are crammed together in bamboo huts – mile upon mile of houses, millions of people living below the poverty line.  That’s why people should care.”

You gave to the Ronnie Coyle Benefit Trust, sadly, Ronnie is no longer with us, you donated to the Aberdour PTA, from the Fife village that hosts our summer get-together, and you gave a donation to The Haven, who help people with life limiting illness from Glasgow and Lanarkshire.  Their story is available in a short video here, take a look at what your money is doing.

All in I’d say you did very well.  Very well indeed.  Have a great Christmas, you deserve it.

Polish media say that Lukasz Zaluska not signed contract extention and will leave Celtic next transfer window.

Media don’t tell if it was Zaluska’s decision not to sign it, or the contract was not offered at all.

Thank you for your wishes and I hope you and your family have wonderful days and prosperous 2012 year.

To be honest with you I would like to see at least one Pole playing in the first Celtic squad. There is big interest in Scotland here. I’m sure with at least one Pole in the squad we would see bigger interest in Celtic. One Pole playing for Celtic would be good for that big Polish community in in your country.

    Would not play Ki.

Since Wanyama has moved back due to Dan’s injury and Ki has replaced him the service to the strikers has been poor.

Hooper was on a rich vein of form but has had no service in last two games so goals stopped.

Ki and Kayal are a poor partnership offering no forward threat and as the Killie goal proved yesterday no protection for defense.

We have reverted to sideways and backwards passing and the hopeful punt since these two were reunited.

Merry Christmas to all in Tim land.

  16. Merry christmas bhoys!!!

I’m proud to number myself amongst the Celtic support and proud to be a tiny part of the Celtic Quick News community.

Whatever the CQN community has achieved has only been possible because of you and because of you great things are being done.

I know you’re too humble to be proud but proud you should be.

While I don’t post much these days I still look in all the time and you do not know how much you guys have lifted my spirits and that you guys/ ghirls and the blessed Celtic helped me through recent health problems when it looked dark.

I’m a lot better now especially after yesterday’s results and I know one thing for sure 2012 will be a lot better year for the Celtic family.

Tommy Burns was probably the most underated Scottish players of all time.

I was priveleged to see him on what I think was his debut in a midweek draw against the Huns when he all most won it for us with a great strike off the woodwork.

He had an outstanding left foot and great vision.

Remember living in London when my dad came down for Scotland game at wembley with 2 tickets for game but I refused to go because they picked Strachan to play on left.I think big Jock was coach.

We lost 2-0 and both goals came down that side with one due to a Strachan error.

Smugly told my dad I told you so

He will always be a hero of mine.

If that had connected, he’d have been in the jail.

    Oh, and, Merry Christmas!
