125 kit and an SPL comparison

1030

A Hibs fan suggested to me on Twitter that as his team are wearing their home kit for next week’s Scottish Cup Final Celtic should take the opportunity to wear their 125th anniversary top. Despite there being 100 years precedent of Celtic and Hibs both wearing their home kits, recent rules (or perhaps customs) dictate that clubs are not permitted colour clashes.

That being the case, let’s take the opportunity to reach back to our founders and wear the anniversary kit.

Before that we have the small matter of Dundee United to play on Sunday. Celtic won the league by 20 points last season, 10 of which were gained after a competitor failed to come up with enough money to meet their commitments. Defeat at Tannadice could reduce this season’s winning margin to 10 points, in a season where everyone, even Hearts could afford to meet their commitments.

Who would’ve thought this SPL would be so competitive? Not me. More please.

Thanks for the excellent support for Willie Wallace’ autobiography. Orders in today from East Brisbane to West Didsbury and many places in between.

But what really gets me about them is why they always have to shoot the messenger, FFS, they should be thanking him, but no, they revel in their shite, sad. sad deluded peepil, and long may it continue.

You are right it’s almost like tehy are not allowed to have their own ideation. Dissenters are hounded.

But they are easily enough led and influenced. A few expletives and err buzzwords generally has them purrring like a pussy-cat.

Tonight, though there is a wee opportunity for skulduggery and have RM and FF in directly opposing camps. RM are backing Blue Pitch et al; FF seem to be veering towards Murray. It’s an open goal.

  6. did anyone hear the caller tonight slating TFPLG for stating ” we are the people” at the end of a speech, then BFDJ claiming it means nothing its a rangers slogan, meaning, well, we are the people.

so what does it actually mean ?

The smartest man I ahve ever know is a hun, well I say a hun, he is a rankers supporter, never met anyone who comes close to his brains and common sence.

He was called the Lone ranger in the village, as he was the only eejit who supported them, but fair play to him, he never deviated from the party line.

This was at the start of their niar time, I haven’t spoken to him for a year or so, and I would imagine he would have changed his tune these days, if anything, he will be supporting Aberdeen now.

But brains to burn, he was scary, but a good man, the one and only I can ever say that about.

  12. Paddy McCourt to leave Celtic

PADDY McCOURT is set to end his five-year stay with Celtic after the Scottish Cup Final.

McCourt’s contract expires at the end of May, and while talks with the club are planned for after the Hampden showpiece with Hibs the winger is almost certain to depart.

The 29-year-old has options in England, on the continent and in the USA, which he is likely to pursue as a free agent.

Despite his status with the support and boss Neil Lennon’s appreciation of his natural ability, McCourt has come to the conclusion he needs to play more regular football and seek a fresh challenge.

Paddy McCourt has options in England, on the continent and in the USA, which he is likely to pursue as a free agent.

The Northern Ireland cap has played 18 times for Celtic this season but only started three of those matches.

McCourt has only started 19 games in total since joining the club from Derry City in 2008.

He was also omitted from Celtic’s Champions League squad for the last-16 clashes against Juventus.

The man nicknamed the “Derry Pele” will face an uphill battle to get near Celtic’s 16 for the Hampden finale against Hibs on May 26.

McCourt has scored some memorable goals for the Hoops including classy solo goals against Falkirk, St Johnstone and St Mirren.

Yet while retaining a place in the hearts of the fans, he has failed to nail a regular spot in the team either under Tony Mowbray or Lennon and his appearance against Ross County earlier this month may turn out to be his last for the club.

Meanwhile, Anthony Stokes is poised to sign his new deal with Celtic.

The 24-year-old striker had been challenged by Lennon to raise his game on return from an ankle injury and has done enough to trigger an extension to his current deal

A source close to the gathering crisis said tonight: “Blue Pitch and the Easdales had already decided these changes were necessary but they have been outraged by what they see as a blatant disregard for basic protocol. As a result, they have formalised their demands and will force an EGM if that’s what it takes.

“These people will not take no for an answer. The Easdales were promised a seat on the board by Charles Green when they invested in the flotation in December and they want what they paid for.

    ++++++++

As the great swaldo might say: ‘who are these peeepul?’

Where does it appear in the prospectus that the Easdales were promised a seat on the board? Did CW approve this?

The Lone Ranger and Tonto are walking through the desert when they come across a body with an arrow sticking in it. “The work of the Cherokee,” says Tonto looking at the arrow. “How can you tell?” asks the Lone Ranger, “Cherokee use the feather of an eagle.” “Ah” says the Lone Ranger.

A little while later they come across another body, again killed by an arrow. “Sioux” says Tonto. “Tell by the feathers?” asks the Lone Ranger. “No. Type of arrow head, Sioux use flint.” “Oh” says the Lone Ranger.

Further along, yet another dead body greets them. This time it’s covered in dozens of little arrows. “Well, which tribe did this?” asks the Lone Ranger. “Rangers fans” says Tonto decisively. “How can you tell?” asks the Lone Ranger.

    Tonto replies “Wee arra people”

Leggat is suggesting they want Dave King in? Wasn’t there something in the rules, can’t remember if fiscal or football, maybe both, that prevented Dodgy Geezers like Dave King (allegedly) from owning football clubs?

Or have we accepted that the SFA/SPL care not a jot for the rules?

The Charlotte Fakers blog posted a 5/6 page letter date December 2012 that advised Green & co that they would be sued by Whyte & Co for reneging on the fronting deal Green agreed with Whyte.

Authenticity of letter is still in debate, but P67 endorses it as genuine.

Taped conversation between Whyte, Green & others has also been leaked which implies that Deloitte were aware of the negative antecedents of one of those in the Green consortium. Deloitte refused to have anything to do with said person, whose ID is a little vague.

TRFC have called and Emergency General Meeting for tomorrow in an attempt to depose existing chairman Malcolm Murray. He was the person who arranged for TRFC enquiry into links between Green & Whyte. Believed that other elements on the TRFC board want him gone, so that they can continue with dirty deeds.
