125 kit and an SPL comparison

1030

A Hibs fan suggested to me on Twitter that as his team are wearing their home kit for next week’s Scottish Cup Final Celtic should take the opportunity to wear their 125th anniversary top. Despite there being 100 years precedent of Celtic and Hibs both wearing their home kits, recent rules (or perhaps customs) dictate that clubs are not permitted colour clashes.

That being the case, let’s take the opportunity to reach back to our founders and wear the anniversary kit.

Before that we have the small matter of Dundee United to play on Sunday. Celtic won the league by 20 points last season, 10 of which were gained after a competitor failed to come up with enough money to meet their commitments. Defeat at Tannadice could reduce this season’s winning margin to 10 points, in a season where everyone, even Hearts could afford to meet their commitments.

Who would’ve thought this SPL would be so competitive? Not me. More please.

Thanks for the excellent support for Willie Wallace’ autobiography. Orders in today from East Brisbane to West Didsbury and many places in between.

You were very clear on twitter last night this letter is the scoop of the year. are you as sure as you can be on its authenticity and if so what are the ramifications? M2M

  17. So I see that Jon Daly has decided to join that club just promoted to the third tier. Great ambition shown there by a man late in his career.

And apparently the plan is to play him as a triallist until their signing ban nnds, when he can join as a free agent. This may well be technically within the letter of the rules … but certainly not the spirit, if that matters. Is there a limit on the number of triallists they can field in a game – if not then team sheets could get very confusing at the start of the season.

Daly is certainly taking a gamble then- both in the reaction of their support and around whether he thinks he will get paid for the entire length of the deal- hope there is an upfront payment

  22. Morning CQN,

one of Charlotte the Harlot’s (copywright ack’d :)) first ‘reveals’ was an email exchange between Jack Irvine and Craig Whyte from 2009, was it?

Followed by an oh-so-innocent question…”Um do you suppose that Jack and minty might have regular business? Um, does anyone know (giggle, oops thank-ee kind sir….) ?”

So C the H has access to historical CW emails that long pre-date the whole Sevco shebang, and then asks a cute question designed to prod the audience into realising that this email exchange exposes the “I was duped by CW” position of minty as being utterly implausible to say the least.

In other words, dear readers, is C the H in fact CW or someone in his ‘camp’?

    Cui bono, and all that.

Any thoughts? Sorry if you have been round this merry-go-round before and I have missed it…

on the news that sevco 5088 have kept season book costs the same

and all the info on the Charlotte Fakers blog

how is this being done at a £13 million pound loss per season?

    · Revenue of £9.5m

    · Operating expenses of £16.6m

Loss before non-recurring items and finance costs of £7.0m

    as of 31 december 2012

    (then jan till june 2013 @ £1 m loss per month= £6 m

Cash of £21.2m as at 31 December 2012

It is essential, however, that the Club does not over-extend itself in future as such an approach is unsustainable, regardless of the playing environment.

operating costs for first 7 months 2012=£16.6m

feel free to amend or rip to shreds if you have more to add)

  24. Just read oglach’s comments….something is ‘too good to be true’ about this.

  26. I would love to believe the letter is genuine, but as per previous posters said I fear its a hoax. Obviously the Easdales through Blue Pitch were part of original consortium set up by Green. I have no doubt that these guys could have a myriad of holding Companies in the background, and Green selling to the Easdales could just be another smokesscreen, if it was decided that Green’s currency had become devalued and t’would be better for him to hide behind others, much the same as Whyte planned to hide behind Green.
