7 UP: WATCH AGAIN AS CELTIC RUN AMOK

CELTIC were singing – and winning – in the rain at Parkhead last night as they powered their way to an emphatic 7-1 win over demoralised Dundee.

The roof fell in on the visitors as the champions ran amok in a blistering opening period when Cameron Carter-Vickers, with his first goal of the campaign, got the show on the road with a thumping close-range header.

Poor Trevor Carson hardly had a chance to draw breath when Adam Idah glanced in No.2 and Matt O’Riley dived full length to knock in the third.

It got worse for the Northern Ireland international keeper and his shell-shocked Tayside team-mates when Daizen Maeda turned sharply before whipping a low drive in at the far post and Greg Taylor added to the procession from practically under the crossbar.

Carson was fishing the ball out of his net again in stoppage-time when Callum McGregor drilled a low drive past him for the sixth as the netminder sprawled to his right.

The magnificent seven was achieved when teen ace Daniel Kelly, an interval substitute for the team’s skipper, walloped in a right-foot drive that fizzed high into the top left-hand corner of the net.

Despite a late reply from the visitors through Michael Mellon, it was an evening of unconfined joy for manager Brendan Rodgers, his players and the fans.
