Abada sparkles as Rogic stakes PoTY claim

175

An illness-ravaged Celtic swept St Johnstone aside in Perth yesterday with far greater efficiency than at Hampden last month.  St Johnstone went on a downward spiral after that semi-final, losing games since, but this was still an impressive performance.

Liel Abada sparkled in the central striker role, scoring two early on, and his Israeli team-mate Nir Bitton, tidied things up near the end.  Carl Starfelt made things interesting midway through the second half by conceding possession in a dangerous position, allowing St Johnstone to score with their only attempt on target.  Incidents like this will be a concern for Ange Postecoglou.

Liam Scales continued to settle into the side while Josip Juranovic on the opposite wing-back role put in one of his best shifts for Celtic.  Yet again, Tom Rogic made things happen.  The Aussie has flourished under Postecolgou and must surely be favourite for Player of the Year.

As Ange made clear after the game, the break could not come soon enough for Celtic, who ALWAYS prefer to play in front of a full crowd.

St Stivs, I met the greatest ever Celtic player James Edward McGrory in 1975. It was for a book signing for a Lifetime in Paradise with Gerry McNee. He was a lovely man. Never meet your idols? I did and was not disappointed.

  10. I’ve posted this before about Coronavirus and DARPA, so I’m regurgitating it, and aye the common cold is part of it.

Surprisingly many of the innovations used to counter the coronavirus come from a once obscure Pentagon-funded projects to defend soldiers from contagious diseases and biological weapons.

About 10 year ago the Pentagon recruited a retired an army infectious disease physician.

He then spent time with the secretive defense advanced research projects agency or DARPA, working on technology that is hoped will ensure COVID-19 is the last pandemic and eliminating all coronavirus’s including the common cold.

After 4 years Covid 19 appeared, they were told tae stop and find a vaccine, the result was this life-saving vaccine developed in record time owes a debt to this programme.

And yes Omicron is technically no different tae the common cold, the only difference the latter has been around for that long we know how tae handle it, as soon as it appears, Neo Citrons, Tylenol etc dug out and used.

I think the Brian F has posted a couple of times after a game.On these occasions he has slaughtered a couple of players, and I mean slaughtered.Think they were Biton and Taylor. In my normal way,I told him he was a Trumpet, and to go away,or words to that affect. So I see why I get a mention, but St Stivs,God only knows what you have done.Another CQN mystery.

Anyway Brian, thanks for, once again, letting us all know just how someone with very little intellect, can get to post on CQN.

  16. From Lurking on sfm. An interesting post on how much debt got for Gerrard

    ——-‘

The TRFC Ltd accounts now published by Companies House give further information as to how much the club received from Aston Villa re Gerrard.

The post balance sheet events of RIFC indicated that £1.1m was received in respect of player registrations sold and loan fees received.

The TRFC accounts, published some weeks later, consolidates the £1.1m received as above with cash received following the termination of the contracts of Gerrard and his assistants, for a total of £2.65m. Therefore £1.55m was received following Gerrard’s departure.

  25. I wish all Celtic fans would stop making personalities of turkey teeth boyd and clyde55s keevins We’re not annoying either of them . They are lapping it up and there employers are too . Better to ignore them . It would help if those rogue Celtic blogs would do the same , it’s all stuff from the daily ranger and the #un in them , if I wanted to know what they write I would buy there papers . They knock everything about our club yet Celtic fans still buy and listen to the anti Celtic attack on our club . Haven’t listened to clyde55 or the station that employs wall to wall Bears for many many years and haven’t missed one second of it . Try it bhoys
