  2. Strange but rewarding sort of a day. Had to travel up M1 to Sheffield so had to leave the house at half time . UP 1-0 and whilst not quite making too many chances, controlling enough of the pitch to think we are gonna get the 3 points.

Gets to the toll barrier on M6 toll for the A38 to the M1 at 3-25pm. Pulls over to Check result. Ft. 2-0

Yaaaaaa fffffn beauty was my reaction. Sets off again full of the joys.

    Gets checked in hotel.

Look at Paddy Power. Hmmmm. Why has my account got an extra near £140 in it?

I knew I’d bet 4-0 and 4-1 to the hoops? Even if I did bet 2-0, though I’m sure I didn’t, the odds would’ve been too low to return £140 for a couple ££ staked?

Did I bet the Nags? No, definitely not. I’m bemused.

    Looks up bet history……

£2 staked on 2 red cards at 66/1.

Oh I’d forgotten about that bet!! To be honest I was expecting madhun to send two of the bhoys off not one of each. Still, I’ll take it :-)

Seen highlights. Brooooonie…. best reaction I’ve ever seen from a player in the hoops to a thuggish challenge. The man’s a legend.

  3. Auldheid- signed.

As Canamalar used to bang on about, the HWaW Madden, endangered the H&S of a Celtic player today.

He absolutely needs hunted, as does his employers. Can we not petition this also?

    Let’s be clear here.

He ignored the obvious head clash, ignored the directive on head clashes I.e. stop play. He ignored the player injured on the ground to the extent he nearly ran over him and must have seen the blood. Ignored the shouts of Celtic players and fans.

    Why?

Because a team had a very good goal scoring chance- with both defenders injured- against a team he hates. Celtic.

At the very least Celtic should be firing a warning shot across their bows. A lawyer letter preferably.

The consequences of his bias and inaction could have been serious for the player.

    Time for action.

I don’t disagree, obviously some posters like the attention (just my opinion) I love punters getting the team grief if they back the arguenent up …. not sure if am a happy clapper but as a wee Bhoy 1977 my Celtic has never needed to win, I got brought up with us not winning, I love the blog and some posts go way over my head but that’s what P67 gives us, anyhow some Celtic fans are never happy…. my father passed in 1995 he would have loved these times and I know for a fact he hated every Celtic board when he was alive and I would imagine nothing much would ever change :-) he would be annoyed his youngest is a Peter Lawwell fan :-)

  5. Yep Gerry., There was a TV Programme on which he featured last year, where he was applying for his Licence,

He got it, drives a wee Electric car, incredible wee man.

Started running Marathons in his late sixties when he retired. In his eighties and maybe into his ninties used to cycle from Clonmel to Knock in Mayo to visit the Shrine of Our Lady, a round trip of 470 Kilometres. Not in the one day obviously, I assume he had a stopover halfway there & halfway back.

He certainly was cycling around Clonmel up to about 4 yrs ago.

Your Da’ and ma Da’ both would have loved this time, I remember come home home from a game we lost to the Darkside and I was raging’ and the auld boy says to me ” It’s easy to support Celtic when they’re winning, it’s when we lose you see the real Celtic men” I never forgot that.

That’s why last season was so special and I won’t ever take that or Celtic for granted.

We haven’t been brilliant this season like last season but that’s when the team and individual players going through a loss of form need our support the most and I’ll be damned if that makes me a Happy Clapper:))

Brilliant result the day,I love beating the Sheep up there some of my happiest moments were coming back down from Aberdeen:))

    Good on him

We are off to Tenerife in August for my good ladies 50th, in July 2020 I hit the big 50 we are hopefully going to spend a fortnight across the water again hopefully starting off in Letterkenny and Cork is on my wish list. here is hoping

  8. AoW

I agree with you 100% on that.

I am amazed that other supporters organisations are silent on the referees issue, they influence our very Celtic being, yet not a single one say anything, the Trust should be shouting it from the rooftops.

I don’t expect the club to say anything, they have allowed 100s of millions to be stolen for them, no a peep, so a few crocked players is small change.

  9. I would like to thank all of you who posted support and prayers on the death of my Mum.

With your help I found the strength to get through the day on Friday. There is an emptiness deep inside of me which will remain, and so it should.

42 years ago my Dad died. It was sudden, unexpected and tragic at 47 years old. A heart attack in the stand during a Celtic V Rangers game on 4th September 1976. At the tender age of 20 I had to go from the match directly to the Morgue in Glasgow to identify his body.

Jock Stein and 9 of the Lisbon Lions attended his funeral. A proud day for me.

My Mum’s Funeral on Friday was very different. Quiet and dignified.

And at 62 It hurt so much more.

  10. Remind me again. Why should we leave players up the park when defending corners?

To all those who say it’s to allow counter attack I give you:

Exhibit A: Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney

    That is all.

  11. Gerry

Missed the second half but my bhoys were boiling at the head knock incident.

Now, I’ve yet to see it, but, there’s no doubt in my mind that if the incident is as described to me by the bhoys, then the authorities need to launch an investigation into his decision to leave a player lying spark out from a head knock.

I would say the same thing it were a Sevco player who had received a similar injury.

Is it too much to infer that a man’s anti Celtic leanings could have cost a man his life? Celtic simply cannot allow this to pass without demanding an explanation. This ref has failed in his responsibility to protect a player. It’s borderline criminal behaviour.

Not only Celtic. Every club should be concerned at the decision to play on.

    It’s not on.

If I have got it wrong in any way and he didn’t see the headknock, I apologise unreservedly. I’m basing my comments on second hand information.

If I haven’t got it wrong, there must be an inquiry into this.

Still my best ever night 1994 in Scruffy Murphys in Coatbridge after the Raith Rovers final…. it was shoite losing the final the Easter road on the Tuesday/Wednesday …. you will never walk alone Paul….. in bits of card

If you don’t mind me saying I can assure you in time the good or even the bad memories will bring a wee smile to your face….. they might not be here just now but they never leave you…. take care.

  14. Twists 10.01pm

I can assure you Madden saw it, his instinct was to let the play go with not one thought of the player injured

Great stuff with the red card bet :-)

Cheers for the start of the week as well, I panicked in case I was being the eijit :-)

  15. There were three other officials that should have seen it, any one of them should have told the ref to stop the game immediately, but as he saw it imo he wouldn’t have bothered his arse.

I have said for years that we should hack into the officials communications, it shouldn’t be hard for a novice to do this, it sure would open our eyes, or not, but it would give us 100% proof of their cheating.

Floatin: Will light a candle and say a wee prayer for your Mum’s in St. Wnin’s tomorrow.

    RIP.

  25. As Greenpinata says the blog would be rubbish if we all agreed and every poster has the right to post P67 has gave us this avenue to interact with fellow fans ……. I haven’t met P67 he walked by me once but he started this blog years ago, life moves on, am delighted we still have it ….. funnily enough not many of the posters after the Zenit game are not online

  26. Madden was going to blow his whistle, but didn’t as he seen Aberdeen were in a great position.McLean who dived anytime he went near the ball, went down holding his head for no reason, Madden stopped the game, Broony wasn’t slow in pointing out the Ajer injury.
