You are the biggest crackpot on CQN.

People in glass houses, shouldn’t throw stones.

    Anyway….Hail Hail

  2. Not sure if I agree with some blaming the players for being ‘prima donnas’. Our assistant manager has previous at Hibs with him being cited as being conceited and inflexible. Ronnie seems to be in the same mould. Perhaps some flexibility from our management team is required. His tactics and theories of how football should be played might all be well and good with a squad full of Barca class players however we have a squad of assorted bargain basement and inexperienced players. Here is a radical idea why not try and use a system that brings out the best in the squad? The high tempo passing 1 up front is not working. It doesn’t take a master football tactician to outwit RD and his single formation / tactic. IMO his failure to realise plan A is working will inevitably cost him his job. RD needs help – fast

Hi Ghuys, Salve salve;- Don’t post much nowadays but thought I would put in my tuppence worth.

This season I have been fortunate enough to have missed both the Malmo away and Yesterday’s game.

I’m not sure but I think I can detect a hint of restiveness among the support. What is happening can be condensed into three simple questions concerning the displays thus far this season . :-

    1) Have the management team learned anything from these defeats ?

    2) Assuming the answer to (1) is yes. Have they identified and understood the reasons.

    3) What actions do they propose to address any of the problems they have identified.

I have said before on here, the only way the club will succeed is if the board, the management and players and the fans are united.

  5. TET, I agree there is too much personal slagging but it comes from both sides. We are all members of a wonderful, very special worldwide Celtic Community. Our common bond is a love of Celtic Football Club.

I always remember a documentary I saw many years ago about down and out Irish on the streets of London.

This tramp was being interviewed sitting on his park seat with his bottle of wine. Asked about life he replied “If Celtic win I’m happy, if Celtic lose I’m sad”. We are all a bit like that but it’s how we express our feelings that causes the problems. Poor old tramp is probably long dead now, I doubt if he ever saw a game in his life but I will always remember him for those couple of words.

    GLENDAYSTONSILS.

The statement of intent should not just be a press statement , sorry I did not mean that. A proper display on Thursday with everyone putting their pride in the jersey on show and giving the fictional 110% would be a start.

By the way , I return to my comments last night, this can be sorted. We caused it , we can fix it.

Ronny is pushing through much required change at Celtic we have the most young players ever out on loan at present and gaining football experience not stagnating in the stiffs. He has also bought a player and loaned him back to his club something that has never been done at Celtic before he is also increasing the number of Scottish players at the club.He has changed the players diets and training methods all these changes while bringing in new players for the first team this change will take time to flourish .Getting rid of Ronny would be a big mistake his management will bring more success to our club but we need to support him. H.H.

It’s no just him, he just needs serious help, it’s all the infighting, you are not allowed to say anything against the board anymore, a long way from when the blog was first on the go, they have taken over, they offer nothing but pish.

The blog has lost many good posters, and many more will leave if it carries on the way it is.

On the subject of unbalanced rabid nonsense, you posted before the game yesterday that we would beat Aberdeen 3-0. What’s your prediction for Thursday in Amsterdam? :)

  13. Oglach

Why dose RD & Staff not try MON’s team formations especially @ home in the SPL

not only 4-4-2 but also 3-5-2 we need to adapt & change our tactics when necessary

& when we can we also need to adapt a plan B & so on when things don’t work

out accepting failure should not be an option we need to keep our challengers

thinking & unprepared by not being predictable & playing into their hands so to

The divisions are growing that’s for sure, one thing does get my goat:))) though if your not rabidly anti board you’re somehow a board lover, that’s no right in most cases.

The blame game doesn’t really work for me, identify the problem and the solution as well.

Things don’t look so rosy in Paradise at the moment but at Celtic you’re always two games away from a crisis.))

Funny to see WGS being called back by some as Tic manager, he was getting slaughter when I first came around here, him and his rigid 4-4-2:))

    There’s nowt like folk.

  15. Corkcelt

I agree it does, but it’s always the clappers who start it, the others retaliate.

Thing is IMO, the people who do crit the board generally offer a solution, the clappers offer nothing.

Neganon is vilified on here, but he offers solutions, solutions that would work imo, yet he is accused of hating Celtic, he is saying what he is saying cos he loves Celtic, and the pricks that think that can’ t see past their beloved Pedro that can do no wrong.

Maybes they should take over from BobbyM’s goat :-)

Don’t know about where you are now

It’s Armaggedon outside in Central Renfrewshire with all that rain – never seen anything like it!!!

    Matters on the park.

Not good, but not half as bad as being made out here.

I confess to being as guilty as anyone else by jumping into personal debates with some guys.

It’s getting seriously bad when you try a bit of humour in an attempt to cool things and it has the opposite effect.

Over time it’s obvious who are the passionate Celts, who are not.

It’s the certain knowledge distasteful disagreements are between Celts that makes this place hard to go after bad results. Yet, there is no-one less likely to back down on a point than me. Go figure…

A few defeats doesn’t set me off, a string of defeats gets me a bit restless. Tho’ tend to hold that back and talk it up …like I’m trying to convince, myself more than anything else really.

    Right now?

We have had a few dunts and dings, we lost a few good players and we failed to get the level of quality in we want and need. My sense is we need to clear the decks of a few stalwarts and refresh those key positions with some seasoned pros that can deliver on basics.

Still feel we have a management team that can do the job if given the resources and support they need.

    Peace and Hail Hail

Everything you mention is true however changing diet etc is not the role of a manager. Ronnie was brought in to be a Coach and assistant to NL, diet, fitness etc should be the preserve of the coaches not the 1st team manager. RD’s seeming lack of flexibility with tactics and formation is a considerable worry. I would also question his transfer selections – Boyata and Ciftci ? Is our youth set up so bereft of talent that we can’t blood the young bhoys rather than spending money on transfers on players who, imo, do not strengthen the team. In the case of Boyata I find it hard to believe that one of the younger bhoys couldn’t have as good a job. I hope I am wrong but at the moment big Boyata reminds me of hybrid of Amido B and Momo Sylla.

Maybe the reasons Dermot Desmond has not been at Celtic Park, are he is a Tax exile, he is in Bulgaria setting up Banks, getting pished in London, or Man U are playing at the same time as Celtic?

Not to mention the golf, and the horse racing…….

Years ago when I first came on here, the debate was superb, there was no slagging whatsoever, everyone made their point, now we have the rabid board lovers, they have been growing for a few years now, and as I said, they offer nothing at all, yet they are taking over the blog.

Plenty other blogs out there where you can still get a decent debate about the rights and wrongs with the club, where you can say your piece without the Pedro groupies talking pish.

It’s that sort of head in the sand attitude that got the huns to where they are today, yet they think they and the suits are right always, jeezo, what must it be like to look up to another person like that, hunnish I say.

  26. embramike says "the Huns are Deid" on

For my own edification, does the shareholding equate to % voting rights at the AGM?

From last year’s AGM report, the major shareholders (1p shares) are :

    Dermot Desmond – 32.77m (35.33%)

The Bank of New York (Nominees) Limited – 11.93m (12.86%)

    Christopher D Trainer – 9.77m (10.53%)

    James M Keane – 5.91m (6.37%)

    T Alison – 3.36m (3.62%)

    P Lawwell – 0.36m (0.38%)

I presume that the handful of people who hold the majority of shares ensure, even without other proxies, that the board has the 90+% support for their AGM proposals they always seem to quote?

Makes my small shareholding insignificant in the scheme of things as DD plus a couple of others basically call the shots.

It’s a great pity that DD doesn’t think it worthwhile to attend the AGM after all he is a long standing board member. Perhaps we should arrange a CQN Golf outing and invite him along?

  27. Corkcelt,

You are right, imo. Personally, I think the real guff began during the Referendum Campaign last year. Instead of attempting debate way too often it was simply attacking the person for having a different opinion. Now it is how you view our manager and the board. I hope none of them read CQN because the bile poured over them is beyond ridiculous.

I also think it quite funny if WGS is being touted as our next manager. Most on here were vitriolic about him. “He wasn’t one of us” nonsense.

Like Raymac, I feel increasingly like giving CQN up for a while. But , I’m afraid I would miss out on genuine news about Scottish football, as I have no regard whatever for the SMSM. (I sometimes wonder to myself in my wilder moments whether or not some of them actually post on here to stir things.)

I would miss too the contributions of the likes of Auldheid and TBB.

No one should take them selves that seriously.

It’s all a bit of crack on here, like a cyber pub where we can all have a full and frank exchange of views.

  29. Sipsini you know who I’m referring too.

In my eyes they will always be remembered as Seco 5088.

Or is it Rangers International now.

that’s so when they go bust again they will also be referred

    to AKA FC
