It was a decision we used to see when we played another team.

Some composed play there knocking the ball across the pitch while being closed down but a few of those crossfield passes are asking for trouble.

Think Ajax coach will be quite happy to see us play like this: committed and fast, but not clever enough in possession and looking shaky at back.

Yeah, I’m glad the ref’s failing to apply the rules too. In fact, why don’t we take a man off voluntarily without a substitute coming on and make it an even more glorious victory if that’s what we end up getting?

Great ball from Charlie to Leigh that led to the penalty. Easily a red card, not surprised there.
My big concern is their cross ball splitting our two CB’s.
Score the next one and they’ll collapse.

Blatant Red Card, and Charlie’s yellow very very soft
Anyone surprised with Ref decisions ?
Now we still need to tighten up through midfield and defence
Also think Blacket and Rogic need to speed up, and GMS get into the game
Incidentally superb pass from Charlie for the penalty :-)

Doubt if the Ajax scout will be unduly concerned. We are doing ok but lack a real threat up front with or defence seeming a bit disjointed at times. Not a great surprise given the personnel changes at the back. Lots of square balls and back passes from our midfield. CG our best player by a country mile.

Good pass from Chas Mulgrew set up the goal. Obviously should have been a red card for Considine. Softest ever yellow card for Mulgrew as experienced referee Thomson gave the crowd what they wanted. Hayes caused a few problems especially the chance that McClean should have taken. Blackett looks as if he might be better as a central defender. GMS not involved enough.

When are you heading our way, bud?
I’m back and available for a wee discussion about oh everything from 3-17/10.
Celtic’s 4:2:3:1 is producing a lot more attacking play than Aberdeen’s so-called two up front.
Scott Brown has been our best midfielder and our best defender.
Leigh Griffiths has been positive throughout.
Lustig and Johnasen are both working hard and their experience is keeping the Dons’ best player, Hayes, quiet.
Rogic has been brave and creative but needs to protect the ball better.
Boyata should let others pass out of defence but he has been good in the air.
Charlie made the goal but has been weak in defending aerially.
Blacket is nice and tidy but GMS has not got on the ball enough.
Craig Gordon is, as always, excellent.
Aberdeen have been fouling non -stop. Their grappling at set pieces is worse than Juventus did and Rooney has pushed one of our CBs on EVERY cross they have thrown in.
1:0 is a good start. If we can control the first 15 minutes of the second half, I can see us score some more.
Thunder Road on
Need to wait and see if Thompsons use of cards is going to be worthwhile.
Sheep should be down to 10 yet they are not and Mulgrew really has to watch his step or he will be off.
Shame as he has done well so far.

The tolerance of robust challenges by Scottish refs is a great leveler against us.
It haves the tacklers leeway except of course when they wear a Celtic jersey.

I think Leigh was asking Thomson why it was not a red. I presume Thomson knows it was so The Griff better be careful in the second half. Thomson will want to punish him for having the audacity to question one of the peepil.

Our ‘3’ have not been effective enough. GMS is not getting involved, Rogic seems a yard slow in the central role, and Johansen ,like KC , can only play in the centre of the ‘3’.
Couple of times our back 4 have been caught out of position (understandably) but they don’t have Griff. And we still persist with the static zone marking – this will cost us goals as the season progresses.

What a pass from Charlie Mulgrew
===========================================
Charlie.
A no- user before the game
Celtic the class act.
Defended fairly comfortably overall, and took our chance with the penalty, after Tom Rogic missed a snip in the opening minutes.
Impressed with Lustig Boyata and Blackett has did well in his first 45 minutes.
Bitton Brown and Johansen have a grip in midfield, but expect Aberdeen to charge in the second half, and us to score again on the break.

Conditions playing a part, in what is a tight game.
Charlie. Better at CB – good range of passing and his lack of pace less exposed. Tom Brady like pass for the pen.
This might be a day for Wee Forrest.
He usually does well at Pittodrie.
Last man has nothing to do with it any more, that has been dropped.
It’s a clear goal scoring opportunity , not last man.

Rogic getting better the more game time he gets but still gets caught on the ball a wee bit too often for me. Needs more work on speeding it up.

Agree.Rooney missed a great chance but replay shows he’s clearly offside. How the linesman missed it? I don’t know ,or, perhaps I do.
Positives: Johansen, Griff, Biton, Blacket doing well.
Boyata needs to watch his passing. If Rogic was a second faster he’d be brilliant.
