Absurd Rummenigge, Regan

435

When Juventus scored in the opening minutes in the away leg of their last 16 Champions League tie last night it felt familiar. It’s just three years since you and I saw them in person do the same thing at the same stage of the competition.

It took Bayern Munich 70 minutes to rebound but we’ve not really recovered from a lapses in a tie which could otherwise have been far closer than the five goal margin it turned into. Getting back onto the same field with the likes of Juventus after Christmas (or even after August) is now the big challenge. It will take some doing.

I liked Karl-Heinz Rummenigge as a player but as a Usurper of Meritocracy he’s falling well down my list. He celebrated both teams after last night’s game before asking how long Uefa would countenance teams like Juventus exiting the competition at this stage? Not only would he like clubs like his get guaranteed entrance to the competition, he feels that elimination in March should is too harsh a consequence for losing.

I’m sure Rummenigge was being deliberately absurd last night. He’s trying to provoke alarm before playing his hand.

John Clark, on Scottish Football Monitor, attended SFA chief executive Stewart Regan’s presentation at Edinburgh University yesterday on values and integrity in football. Mr Clark questioned Mr Regan on whether Rangers failure to pay overdue social taxes in 2011 broke Uefa competition eligibility rules. Clark informs us Regan said he would do “Nothing” if incontrovertible evidence was available that social taxes were unpaid and that debt collectors had been employed.

We have a criminal lack of oversight in Scotland, not just in football.  This attitude would not be possible in London.

The spirit of Jack Warner, Sepp Blatter and so many others is alive and well at Hampden. This is what we’re up against, and remember people, Blame the Victim is the hottest game in town, it doesn’t matter if you don’t know the background, anyone can play.

I think the point is, do you think that the SFA are going to answer to guys called, BRT&H, Auldheid, Canamalar, and Morrissy, and take the complaint serious? then again I could be wrong, do they use they’r real names when corresponding with the SFA and Celtic?

Now I’m only asking because I really don’t know? But I think it’s a valid point, IMO.

    +++++++++++++++

The SFA know who they are dealing with. Celtic shareholders with a mandate to ask questions because Res12 was not voted against and the Celtic Company Secretary who dealt with the SFA lawyer on shareholders behalf would have made that clear that this was not a rag tag and bobtail group with no authority to ask questions,

If we had none then why would the Celtic Company secretary in effect vouch for our bona fides when he asked questions on the behalf of shareholders requistitioners?

This is what makes the SFA reply insulting, apart from not addressing the points raised, it failed to recognise that what they were asked to respond to came from a group with the authority of a shareholder Celtic AGM to ask.

The SFA aren’t just insulting BRTH, Canalamar, Morrissey or Auldheid, they are insulting the Celtic family of which you are a member.

How does that make you feel being ignored in spite of having a legitimate case to answer?

    Me?

I’m raging and so should PL and the club. (apart from Regan’s reply to John Clark, how far over should we bend?)

  2. NEGANON2,

I don’t know what is going to happen in the Future. Ronny is being mercilessly attacked from all quarters, he deserves more Support. These are the End Times though, so all sorts of batsh!t crazy stuff is going down.

I find him a lot stronger than Tony Mowbray and he just couldn’t believe the cheating going on.

I agree with TTT that players have undermined him, we were playing decent stuff after the turn of last year and the future looked better.

What has happened this Season will either be the making or Breaking of Ronny Deila.

Ronny was telling them that they (the new team) were not good enough to be in the SPL – that was cutting them to shreds.

I like Ronny a lot and its just a shame that he has been undermined by some players.

Ronny is a fighter, of that, I have no doubt. There is something a lot more to Ronny IMO.

I enjoyed watching the link posted by BSR. That wasn’t a guy who gave up like TM.

I Hope Ronny will be the Leadership this Club needs. Maybe – I’m totally wrong.

I get it pointed out to me every time I talk to my argumentative workm8 :)) that Ronny has no Leadership qualities.

I’ll back him until he isnae there, hopefully it is a long time into the Future.

    EndofDays?Matthew24:36.CsC

C’mon the Ronny Deila and his Bhoys, get that 5 and the Cup.

  3. Mahe the Madman on

    Corkcelt,

Picking up on your earlier posts. You’re right there will be a team called Celtic. However in my humble opinion the Celtic those people you talked about, and the identity they believed in,,the spirit of the underdog,,of standing up for each other and what’s right,,of tackling oppression through unity,,of not cowtowing to the establishment,,that Celtic will have died if the current incumbents accept getting shafted and not fighting back. And with those who walk away each won’t pass on their love of the club to one or more.

There will be no returning of trust even if the board change, for we will all know you would be returning to a farce run for one clubs benefit.

The club as many thought and hoped it was could well die here.

The ideal customer for the PLC is what you describe,,show up regardless.

It’s time for the fans to stand up for their principles.

Why pay and emotionally invest in a farce?

    Anyway Hail Hail

  4. I hope Every Celtic player has the attitude that this might be my Last game ever from now on. Kieran obviously has it – fearless.

John Kennedy was the one my Dad noticed was top drawer early, he watched all the Celtic TV when it was mainstream.

It’s the young Hungry guys that are Celtic’s Future, they will fight hard and fair.

  5. Wrote out two lengthy pieces that were lost… So frustrated into brevity.

Scottish Fitba is a microcosm of the global financial markets . Since 2008 and before, a sham, with banks setting their own rules, and media respecting them. Reality will bite. But not yet.

Since then major investors ( major shareholders, MSM, banks, govts) all have vested interest in keeping the bull rolling.

They have kicked the can down the road…. But corrupted the product. Unless someone does something very very soon. Otherwise they will reap what they have sown….

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2MtEsrcTTs&sns=em

Celtic supporters should know quicker than most that the game is up. Stop with the outrage. Stop with incredulity.

You reap what you sow…. SFA & Tims both.

  6. PJBhoynyc,

Reducing the ST prices going to work for the middle of the road Celtic Supporters?

No offence, you are going to drift into a memory, Rom defo not Ram, when you leave forever.

Now about the actual Gold price?

    Yer knowledge is quality.

  7. As someone who has said that for me the jury is still out on Ronny, but nevertheless accept that he will stay until at least the end of the season – I decided a few weeks ago that I would back him and the squad unreservedly in the the coming months.

There has been, as everyone knows, a media circus this week surrounding prospective ‘boot-fillers’ should Ronny leave – therefore it was with much pleasure that at his usual Thursday news conference, he looked and sounded more positive than I had seen him in a while, even talking about working with Peter on next season – the ‘haunted’ look had gone.

How come? Nothing has really changed – the 2-1 victory against Thistle was at best workmanlike and Aberdeen are still ‘breathing down our necks, waiting for the next slip-up.

Has there been a ‘sorting-out’ behind the scenes? – Has Ronny been assured that we are on a long-term strategy and his job is not a consideration? – Has the increased speculation over a successor prompted a coming together of everyone connected with the club?

Who knows – suffice to say I was pleased to see him in a less stressed state and although I still don’t know if he is the complete and long-term answer – I like the guy and wish him well – did anyone else see a different Ronny this week? – HH

  8. The spectre of the 2000 age group players starting to Filter into the First Team, that squad, that will…..

No Wonder they want RID of Ronny Deila, IMO. I know nothing except what I seen a few years ago now.

The Celtic Support require the New Club to be treated like Aberdeen @ best.

They can take their tainted place but they are NEW.

Be Bold like so Many before. Feck Money.

  9. You have to Wonder, it is Wonderful stuff, why Shunsuke ended up playing for the Glasgow Celtic.

Most of the Fitba Greats, they Pass through Parkhead gates, and they dae.

You won’t see a better goal EVER than our Hero frae Japan….Bingo

  10. Paul67….

Your Uncle Tom buddy Mr Lawell is more guilty than most of this ‘criminal oversight’ you so describe.

Any Celtic fan that attends the semi final against Deadclub is also lending credibility to their Survival Myth.

Have you ever thought of writing an editorial for the Celtic View?

Unless Celtic fans take the lead then everything will go back to the ‘Old Firm’ that our Charles Haughey loving majority shareholder and our Uncle Tom Chief Executive so covet.

After this season its as you were unless Celtic fans act NOW.

  11. I liked the fact the olde Shunsuke didnae ever speak English. The Young Koki though probably spoke many Languages. Impossible act to follow in Shunsuke. Another Gift from the Lord.

Annoyed about the Nimrod Parliament coming to Fruition.

Yeshua/Jesus is the point of contact when you have no where else to go – Never forget that.

  12. Just had a look on SFM blog and read some delusional Hearts fan opine that what has happened in governance of Scottish football is a bigger story than Sharapova or Soviet Athletics doping.

    WOW…………

The Main Stream Media have actually investigated the two big stories in detail, but haven’t even skimmed the surface of the Deadclub’s cheating.

Rangers are (quint)essentially a small club,in the general scheme of things, with very few followers outside of Scotland or Ulster. It makes it even more puzzling why Celtic will not go public on the shenanigans at Ibrox.

    Our leaders have no balls……simple.

  13. RES 12 – MORE HEAT THAN LIGHT?

    ————————————————–

The Res 12 situation confuses me simply because I don’t know all the facts.

    KNOWNS

    * Rangers FC had an outstanding HMRC tax bill that should have precluded them getting a Euro licence.

    * The SFA knew this but conspired with Rangers to issue a licence anyway.

    KNOWN UNKNOWNS

    * Did Rangers lie to the SFA and tell them they were still negotiating with HMRC and therefore all was well?

    * Did the SFA accept Rangers at their word without checking and issued the licence?

    * When and if this came to light, did the SFA just bury it?

    * What is the SFA official position?

    * What is Celtic’s official position?

    * What is the UEFA official position?

UNKNOWN UNKNOWNS – what might these be, if any – and could there be a reasonable explanation of Celtic’s decision to not to speak about these things in the public domain?

There is much heat on social media on this subject, but I am still not sure there is sufficient light.

  14. PeteC…

I would be very surprised if your ‘gift from the Lord’ Shunsuke would even recognise the being or entity that gave you his gift.

I would hazard a guess that Mr.Nakamura would either be of Shinto or Buddhist persuasion.

May your God go with you….

  15. Good morning friends and a Big Happy Friday from a dry but too-foggy-to-see-the-weather East Kilbride.

  16. Jungle Jim Hot Smoked on

    Mr Pastry

I more or less agree with your list.

    Is this bit 100% :

” Rangers FC had an outstanding HMRC tax bill that should have precluded them getting a Euro licence.

The SFA knew this but conspired with Rangers to issue a licence anyway.”

Yesterday ( at 1:54 , I think) Hen1rik posted a link to Regan giving another view.

I have to go now and will look for any response later.

  17. Mr Pastry,

Maybe our manager was looking less stressed simply because he has read CQN this week. If CQN reflects in any way the Celtic support, he will realise that the smsm’s attempt to put pressure on him and the Club by getting idiots like Moyes and Mackay to dance to their tune will only have made us get behind him, whether we want him to stay or not.

As my old Dad said to me yesterday about this week’s goings on: we each have personal experience of how they operate to do us down and any of us who buys into the agenda of the likes of the Record is clueless.

  18. It’s the bleedin same every St Patrick’s day. I get a fish supper which is past its sell by date and end up feeling as rough as blocked sink.

    Hail hail

  19. DAMN YOU……….St Patrick!……………you an’ yer wee Leprechauns an’ yer

    Hail hail

    Re – Fish Supper.

No, not that I can remember,…………………. but it is not beyond the realms of possibility , ( I had EVERYTHING else………….)

It hurts to “remember” at the mo’ tho…………….Perhaps clarity will emerge after a vat of tea?

    Cheers!

  22. Bada…………….careful with that sort of thing, please.

You’ll give someone a “start” with outbursts like that…..

    ;)

  23. Right….THIS IS NOT AN ADVERT!!…but get yersels along to ABS cash ‘n’ Carry in Centre Street, Tradeston….and for a mere £3.95 (+vat) become the proud possessor of a bed/couch throw as shown here….

NOTE : Have converted mine to a subtle but affirmative window blind that not only has the neighbours gasping in admiration, but can be seen by planes waiting to land at Glasgow airport…One of the aircraft has circled for half an hour….you can hear the singing as it passes and if you watch it through binoculars you can see the wee ‘The Rangers’ supporter getting his face pressed flattened against the the window…..oh wait a minute, that’s wrong….he just looks like that.
