Abuser hypocrisy, United and Atletico

939

I don’t know what was said to Neil Lennon after the victory over Dunfermline last week but if it caused him to react I can imagine the tone.  The few visits I made to the South Stand during Gordon Strachan’s tenure left an indelible image of life as a Celtic manager.

Whatever Kirk Broadfoot did or did not say to Rangers fans towards the end of their defeat at Kilmarnock yesterday, does anyone seriously think it contained more invective than has been hurled at the player for most of his career?

The self-righteous indignation some football fans exhibit when an employee earning [insert a completely irrelevant figure here]exhibits intolerance to what would get you barred for life from any other workplace in the country is the epitome of hypocrisy.

Garry Kenneth, who is likely to face Celtic at Tannadice on Sunday, today told the world he will not be renewing his contract when it expires at the end of the season, saying, “Dundee United are a feeder club, it has always been like that.” Ouch.  Whatever Kenneth thinks of United he should at least respect their fans emotional investment in the club to be a whole lot more careful with his words.  Should make for a tense afternoon in the United defence, especially if we can put the big guy under some pressure.

Big game on Wednesday.  A win would fire enormous impetus into our season.  Whatever the outcome, the game will provide Neil Lennon with a guide on how to play in the hugely important month ahead.

    I am not sure how far back non payment goes, so it might not be until May, just use of whatever leeway HMRC gives you before they get serious about collecting.

    However on the basis that it is 3 months and using figures supplied on RTC, every third month HMRC pay the substantial part of Rangers wage bill.

  4. In relation to 8.1.5 (UEFA Ref. Article 50) – No payables Overdue towards Employees and Social/Tax Authorities

    8.2.16 Reporting Date

    Regardless of the statutory closing date or interim financial reporting date of a club, the criterion is to be assessed as at 31 March in respect of contractual and legal obligations towards its employees arising before 31 December of the year preceding the season to be licensed.

    For the purpose of criterion A.50, the term ‘employees’ includes the following persons:

    • All professional players according to the applicable FIFA Regulations for the Status and Transfer of Players, and

    • Those administrative, technical and security staff listed in Section 11 – UEFA Mandatory Criteria and specifically Articles 28 to 33 and 36 to 39 (UEFA reference).

    Amounts payable at 31 December will sometimes include amounts due to people who, for various reasons, are no longer employed by the club. Regardless of the way such payables are accounted for in the financial statements, they fall within the framework of criterion A.50 which requires the obligation to be settled/paid within the period or duration stipulated in the contract and/or defined by law.

  5. Translated from mundodeportivo. Give em hell Celtic! HH

    Echoes still resound derby played on Saturday at the Bernabeu , but the red and white team is already thinking about the match on Wednesday in Glasgow. The Manzano want to forget as soon as possible what happened in the match against Real Madrid and put the five senses in this match of the Champions League that the athlete has to win to not complicate its European future. A victory in Glasgow classify Atletico Madrid for the next round of mathematical way, but a loss would cause the Manzano were playing it all at the last meeting Dec. 15 at the Rennes at the Vicente Calderon, always depending on the to make Celtic in Udine.

    So, what they want is to remove the red and whites and European competition until February and that goes for a win in Scotland. Hence, yesterday, the players begin to put their minds at Glasgow and delete all or nearly all of what happened at the Bernabeu. In fact, some players like Adrian and Asenjo or said in the locker room Chamartín “now playing in Europe think and win the Celtic League.” And in the red and white costumes want to make you pay the piper for the derby defeat to Celtic which is going through a very gentle in his league. The Scots will try to use it against Atletico and trust in the power of intimidation of its stadium to crush the apples. Something that, on the other hand, the Atletico players, aware that not be an easy match next Wednesday, but are convinced that ultimately end up imposing their technique. Although obviously the Atletico players know that to ensure its presence in Europe the next round should have the same attitude, the same aggressiveness as the one shown in the derby against Real Madrid. “If we play well, with this attitude, we a very difficult team to beat and go up, “Asenjo claimed to the press once the derby in the role of spokesman for the costumes.

    Gregorio Manzano has two days ahead to make the derby is a thing of the past and welcome the Europa League. The coach knows that if he can not do that, the shock of Glasgow can be put on an uphill struggle. Hence, yesterday was talking to his players to let them know that now is not worth Mateu Lahoz, neither red nor penalties. What matters now is to win at Celtic to stay alive in Europe and not repeat what happened last year in which Atletico went home to change first. Coach faces within 48 hours to exercise the work of psychologist with a costume that left the Santiago Bernabeu disappointed but hopeful that from now on Atletico Madrid only go up.

  6. 8.2.17 List of Employees

    All SPL clubs must prepare a schedule showing all employees (as defined in 8.9.1) who were employed at any time during the year to 31 December preceding the season to be licensed; i.e. not just those who remain at year end. The schedule shall be submitted to the SFA.

    The following information must be given, as a minimum, in respect of each employee:

    a) Name of the employee;

    b) Position/Function of the employee;

    c) Start date;

    d) Termination date (if applicable); and

    e) The balance due as at 31 December, including the due date for each unpaid element; and

    f) Any payable as at 31 March (rolled forward from 31 December), including the due date for each unpaid element, together with explanatory comment.

    The employees schedule must be approved by management and this must be evidenced by way of a brief statement and signature on behalf of the board of directors. Schedule A.50 refers.

    8.2.18 Documentation in Respect of Payables towards Social/Tax Authorities

    All SPL clubs must submit to the auditor and/or the licensor the necessary documentary evidence showing the amount payable (if any), as at 31 December of the year preceding the season to be licensed, as well as any payable at 31 March (rolled forward from 31 December), to the competent social/tax authorities in respect of contractual and legal obligations with its employees.

  7. 8.2.20 SFA Decision

    The licence will be refused:

    a) If the information in respect of payables overdue towards employees and social/tax authorities is not submitted to the licensor.

    b) If the club submits information that does not meet the minimum disclosure requirements.

    c) If the club has payables overdue at 31 March towards employees and social/tax authorities which arose before 31 December of the year preceding the season to be licensed.

    For the purpose of the licensing system, if the club has overdue payables at 31 December preceding the season to be licensed (see point C above), the licence may still be granted if the club is able to prove by the following 31 March that:

    a) it has paid the relevant amount in full; or

    b) it has concluded an agreement which has been accepted in writing by the creditor to extend the deadline for payment beyond the applicable deadline (note: the fact that a creditor may not have requested payment of an amount does not constitute an extension of the deadline); or

    c) it has brought a legal claim which has been deemed admissible by the competent authority under national law or has opened proceedings with the national or international football authorities or relevant arbitration tribunal contesting liability in relation to the overdue payables; however, if the decision-making bodies (licensor and/or Club Financial Control Panel) consider that such claim has been brought or such proceedings have been opened for the sole purpose of avoiding the applicable deadlines set out in these regulations (i.e. in order to buy time), the relevant amount will still be considered as an overdue payable; or

    d) it has contested a claim which has been brought or proceedings which have been opened against it by a creditor in respect of overdue payables and is able to demonstrate to the reasonable satisfaction of the relevant decision making bodies (licensor and/or Club Financial Control Panel) that the claim which has been brought or the proceedings which have been opened are manifestly unfounded.

    If the decision-making bodies consider that proceedings may have been opened by the licence applicant with the sole purpose to bring overdue balances into the disputed category (as a way of creating a situation as described in iii) above and ‘buying time’), the SFA may request additional evidence in order to be satisfied that it is ‘a not obviously unfounded dispute

Not many i think. More to come from Aluko, he just needs the right sort of club to play it, they may be the right club. i am afraid he might score the winner at new year.

    It is interesting just what an impact Naismith’s injury has had. Celtic were keen not to quote injuries for the very reason they would be seen as an excuse for poor performances. They have been given a mention by Celtic but no real focus has been placed on them yet if they happen to key players or any players for a key position, they can have quite an impact.

    Rangers could not have won as many games as they had had they our injury problems in key positions.
