I don’t know what was said to Neil Lennon after the victory over Dunfermline last week but if it caused him to react I can imagine the tone. The few visits I made to the South Stand during Gordon Strachan’s tenure left an indelible image of life as a Celtic manager.
Whatever Kirk Broadfoot did or did not say to Rangers fans towards the end of their defeat at Kilmarnock yesterday, does anyone seriously think it contained more invective than has been hurled at the player for most of his career?
The self-righteous indignation some football fans exhibit when an employee earning [insert a completely irrelevant figure here]exhibits intolerance to what would get you barred for life from any other workplace in the country is the epitome of hypocrisy.
Garry Kenneth, who is likely to face Celtic at Tannadice on Sunday, today told the world he will not be renewing his contract when it expires at the end of the season, saying, “Dundee United are a feeder club, it has always been like that.” Ouch. Whatever Kenneth thinks of United he should at least respect their fans emotional investment in the club to be a whole lot more careful with his words. Should make for a tense afternoon in the United defence, especially if we can put the big guy under some pressure.
Big game on Wednesday. A win would fire enormous impetus into our season. Whatever the outcome, the game will provide Neil Lennon with a guide on how to play in the hugely important month ahead.

‘Under Scots Law, Mr Whyte has three years to raise an action against the BBC from the date it aired the documentary.’
That line makes it all clear, he can appear to be taking action and also state there is no hurry for a conclusion.
F-R-A-U-D…
Aye Phil
Thought that myself also under Scots law he gets 3 years of time to play around and deny the accusations, plenty of time for him to package up RFC sell them on and then disappear
MON did fairly well at getting settlements from he media re their attempts at defaming him
two reasons ………….they knew he would sue them
and
they had made unfounded allegations against an individual who had a decent reputation

Was Broadfoot’s attack on the fans sectarian?
ANNAWED……………………………Stolen from KDS Royalties to Tinsodjer….
Sick IRA yobs targeted Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty’s coat as he dined in a top Glasgow restaurant.
The sectarian thugs were about to leave the same establishment when one of them lifted the Ibrox stars overcoat, sparking a near riot.
A full incident was only averted when nobody threatened to call the cops.
One frightened onlooker, who could not be named as he didn’t exist, told us: “Lafferty was sitting eating his meal one minute and the next it all kicked off. The sick yobbos deliberately lifted his jacket and chanted IRA songs at the same time. It could have sparked a RIOT.”
The laughing bigots then appeared to pour petrol on the coat in an attempt to set it alight but the substance turned out to be soda pop.
And in a bizarre twist the republican splinter group then put the jacket BACK, claiming they had lifted it by mistake.
Only the actions of quick thinking restaurant staff averted a full scale incident.
Our source said: “Lafferty was furious and to rub salt in the wounds the thugs put the coat back on its peg. It could have sparked a riot. Thankfully they paid their bill and left before the police didn’t have to be called”
It is the latest in a string of sectarian attacks on the Northern Ireland international who owns a Bentley.

I don’t think he ever sued in Scotland though.

Quote – ‘London-based lawyers Carter Ruck are not able to raise an action in Scotland and, as a result, Mr Whyte has instructed BKF in the case.’
Carter Ruck have clients with a Scottish requirement. In such instances CR hold the client and instruct BKF on their behalf.
What we can see above (if the journo is correct) is that having spoken to CR directly, Whitey Whyte has directly instructed BKF in this matter.
Real question is: Why are Carter Ruck not maintaining a direct interest?

Serious question.
Why would it be easier to win in england ?
Let’s hope this gossamer thin rangers squad don’t pick up any injuries on their trip to play against some other huns. That would be a nightmare for them.
(btw……. Where does the law stand on calling Germans Huns now? Do I need to throw my Hotspur comics away?).
row z \o/ (O) Mississippi Burnin Nearer Home says:
Agree! Part of what I was attempting to describe earlier. CR looked at it and realised its either un-winable or there’s so little cash in it that it’s not worth it. Surely an action could have been raised in either England or Scotland since the programme is viewable in both jurisdictions. Describing CR as “his lawyers” is laughable – like they’re on retainer?!!
There is one possible reason to raise defamation proceedings in Edinburgh and not London:
an Edinburgh jury.

He could have sued in London as the programme was available to view in England.
And Carter Ruck could have used a Conditional Fee Agreement which would have brought them a 100% mark up on fees if they won.
My guess is that in the highly unlikely event that he does sue he will get as far as serving the summons and it will then be quitely forgotten about.
My sister made the comparison earlier with Ss’ house eing attacked by neds, and L’s car being subject of a sectarian attack-as reported in the rags.
I sted it may be a smokescreen;for instance,if the car was sprayed with stuff like proddissent b..turt,then it had to be a put-up job.
After all,no Tim could be that bad at spelling.
Then I read the latest from Declan the loyal……

If there was one man you would want to challenge you to a square go it would surely be Kirk Clubfoot.
Judging by his antics on the football pitch you only need to look at him the wrong way and he hits the deck.
As Adam Ant once sang: Never Trust A Man With Egg On His Face. (la la, la la)
Things are unraveling nicely at the cash-strapped south side outfit.

I understand there are differences in the nuance of what constitutes libel and the standard of proof required. Also Scottish judges have a reputation for being less indulgent than English ones in defamation actions.
I can think of no reason why someone would chose Scotland over England to raise a defamation action.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. He hasn’t raised an action anywhere yet.

Or it might just be the fault of those pesky Tims……
