“It’s just a dream come true”, the words of 20-year-old Holmbert Fridjonsson, who today signed a pre-contract agreement with Celtic and will join the club on 1 January. 5’ 9” manager, Neil Lennon, told Celticfc.net that the 6’3” striker is “a good size”, perhaps giving a glimpse into the innermost thoughts guiding Celtic’s recruitment policy, for those who have not noted the collection of Amazonians now in hoops.
Holmbert will push for a place with Anthony Stokes, Teemu Pukki and Amido Balde; Georgios Samaras is seldom used as a conventional striker. He has made 45 career appearances, five fewer than Victor Wanyama when he signed for Celtic, also as a 20-year-old.
A year ago, when Victor was busy declining a new contract offer, we talked about the window of opportunity, when you have enough appearances to judge a player, but not so many that the world and their grannie knows about him. We concluded that less than 30 appearances would be enough. Victor made a total of 61 Celtic appearances but was his stock rose stratospherically after 30-odd games. The stats suggest we should catch them between 30 and 60 appearances.
Stunning result for Gordon Strachan’s Scotland last night. Keep an eye on that guy, he’s got talent.
Really looking forward to another great charity night at the Columba Club, Blantyre, on Friday, starting at 8pm, where we are having a Q&A with myself, Phil Mac Giolla Bhain and Paul McConville, in aid of the Lourdes Fund. These are always great nights, tickets are available at the door, get along and say ‘hello’.
Many thanks to the hundreds of you have now ordered the CQN Annual, and for all the encouraging feedback. It’s a bit big for a stocking filler, unless perhaps you’re an Amazonian.
See you Friday.

I’ll tell you one thing, though, the last thing the five-way agreement does is suggest Sevco are Rangers. You see, if Sevco were Rangers, this would be a four-way agreement.

Thanks bud. Will drive up tomorrow.
Someone sells loads o sevco shares…which bonkernut bought them ??
PFAyr
The share price fell today that would mean that the shares never got sold today.
Forget about who is selling the shares in sevco. I’m curious as to who is actually buying them and why ?
Hasn’t our Peter ‘set the hare’s running’…and they haven’t even ‘caught on’ ….. Silly bhuns
PFayr
I would have thought that a group of creditors would have got together, taken them to court. as the newco keep saying it’s the same club, and demanded their money.
Surely the new club, old club crap could then be put to bed once and for all.

Some of you will have seen the news about my Dad, Pat Woods, on the club website today. My thanks to to those who have posted tonight.
He was a great Celtic man and will be sent to heaven in his Celtic blazer and tie. I could tell thousands of stories from my Dad and one day I may do. On behalf of the family and my cousin, the Celtic historian who was honoured to share the same name as my Dad, I thank all of you. HH.
I’ve just watched ‘The Life of Pie’ …. Thought it was Sally’s autobiography…!! …hehe…
Seriously, though, fantastic film, with a fantastic ‘conclusion’… !!!

That is what I think PL did, with his carefully thought out joke.

May he rest in God’s peace …… a good man…
The reality is that whatever tribute act eventually settles down in the top Division and plays there football out of Ibrox will claim to have their 141yr History and we will always claim their a Newco with no history. It is an issue that will never be resolved so why worry about it. I’m more concerned with us building a Club and a team that can win ten in a row. I’m pretty confident that we will bring the number up to 6 or 7 but from there if they still have a solvent Club in operation they will move Heaven & Earth to try & stop us.

It’s even more interesting that he refers to the five-way agreement. Has anyone seen any MSM confirmation before this that the five-way agreement even exists?
—————————————————————————————-
Broadfoot:
“We have to do what is best for Scottish football, that is our remit. We have had no contact with Rangers or any board member whatsoever over the details of the five way agreement thay we brokered last summer or unease about any revelations. The five way agreement will always remain confidential as all parties agreed to this fundamental clause when Campbell initially presented it in the first place.”

God grant eternal rest to your dad. You have paid him a fine tribute. I hope you will come back on whenever you feel up to it and tell us some of those tales.

the question was from the floor, I believe(wasn’t there) but if true, surely it was off the cuff?
I don’t belive that the new SFA main man asked a fan to ask a question to prove a point.
all a bit of craic, I reckon, as life should be.
i went for a cheeky pint about 4hrs ago and have ended up liaising on email across several continents from the pub, whilst keeping the wife non convinced that i am not on the peeve.
i don’y think Peter Lawwell could pull that off, never mind what i just about did!
Still in the pub, so i got something right- Smithwicks Pale Ale _ yum

Pathetic liars and conmen

The thought had crossed my mind.
Something concrete has to be done, it’s doing most folks heads in, same club, new club bollix.
We know the truth, but until someone in power tells the truth, it will go on and on, a never ending saga.

Thanks. If it’s confidential and always will be, how is Alasdair Lamont able to report some of its details? And who reported the Broadfoot comments?
