ANGE POSTECOGLOU’S final link to the Brighton managerial position will officially come to an end tomorrow when the Premier League outfit announce Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach.

The rumour machine went into overdrive immediately the news broke Graham Potter was about to leave the south coast outfit for Chelsea after their sacking of Thomas Tuchel.

Former Hoops goalscoring hero Chris Sutton was one of the first to react to the so-called “informed” reports from across the border the Celtic boss would be on Brighton’s wish list and stated such a move would be “a downgrade”, sentiments endorsed by CQN 11 days ago.

A LOT TO PONDER…Ange Postecoglou watches Celtic’s 38-game unbeaten league run end in Paisley.

Now the guessing game will come to an end when the Italian will be paraded at a press conference after agreeng a four-year deal as Potter’s successor.

De Zerbi has been out of work after leaving Hoops’ Champions League opponents Shakhtar Donetsk in July. He had previously spent three years in charge of Serie A side Sassuolo, leading them to two eighth-place finishes in Serie A and he won last year’s Ukrainian Super Cup with Shakhtar.

He will take charge of the team for the first time when they face Liverpool at Anfield a week on Saturday – on the same day Postecoglou will be on the Parkhead touchline for the Premiership match against Motherwell.
