I like Alex Ferguson. He likes his football and cannot hide the respect in which he holds Jock Stein and the great Celtic team of the 60s and 70s. Like you and I, Alex is immersed in the history of the game here, a history he contributed significantly to at Aberdeen.
So, when questioned by the Daily Record on the potential shuttering of Hampden, his overwhelming reaction was for the loss of history:
“… leaving your history behind you
“You’re throwing away all that fantastic history
“history you are throwing away
“That’s a fantastic history
“history has been formed
“The history of Hampden is riddled with fantastic games
“We need history to tell us where we’re going”
No football fans are more immersed in history than Celtic fans, it sustained us through many a dark day, so these words will resonate with you. But fear not, there is a solution!
They can raze Hamden to the ground and have another venue BUY THE HISTORY! Why didn’t this occur to such a great mind? Buying history is a fairly straightforward issue in Scotland. I now own the Crimean War, which I purchased from a guy in Edinburgh last week.
The same vendor was selling the Renaissance, which I would love to own, as I would really like to have painted the Sistine Chapel in the 16th century, but he was wanting £1000 for that, and an internal voice told me I was being taken for a brainless clown.

Tomorrows team selection will be so very interesting, especially as the Double Treble will be in the mind.
Wan thing under Brendan, and he laid the law down very early, substituting dudes disnae faze him, nae matter who they are. Not playing guys, no matter who they are, likewise, disnae faze the Man. He has been given more Control of Celtic, the Fitba side, than anyone I’ve ever witnessed.
We are usually driving to the game now and I get so excited about who is in the Team and the Bench. Aidan usually rattles off the team so quickly that I cannae take it in, I’m guessing he is excited 2.
Paddy is back available, Brendan will know if he is gonnae be here next Season by now IMO, signed. Brendan says Strongest team the whole way now. ;)))))

I think Brendan even has a say on things behind the scenes. I’m talking about players wages and transfer fees etc. something that in the past PL probably controlled totaly.

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Oh sometimes it makes me want to tremble tremble tremble.
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Perhaps we all could take a minute or so to think about all
the members of our families and all our friends who have passed away this last 12 months.
Eternal rest grant unto them Oh Lord
and let perpetual light shine upon them
for ever and ever
Amen.

SFTB,,
I got that question and answer from a wee quiz book the mother in law gave me for Christmas.
Before I read the answer I genuinely thought no matter what every single kid is a 50 50 chance.
I will type exactly what the answer in the book says word for word,,,
There are 4 possible scenarios,
BB,,BG,,GB,,GG each with a one in four possibility.
If one is a boy the GG scenario can be discounted,,
which leaves three scenarios, each with a 1 in 3 probability,,
BB,,BG,,GB.
So now the probability that one of the children is a girl is 2 in 3 or 66.666 percent.
Hope youre well
Hail Hail

I like to think you never need to grow up, but you can be respectful to others. Costs nothing.
I hope you have a fantastic day tomorrow

thanks for the quiz
Close run affair- The 5:1 game gave me 2 points. I have the 5:1 game on tape and have watched it through many times. A sign of what could have been from that developing side. It just needed MON to add a bit of steel to what was already there.
Mahe
Thanks for the effort. Sorry it was poorly subscribed. Sorry a poster who said he was going to participate in your quiz, went back on his word and then attempted to sabotage your great effort tonight.

Thanks for the explanation. It makes sense when framed like that.
No surprise- there is a wiki page about it:-

I agree, I dont know what the problem is.
Maybe something has happened today to make him annoyed.
The thing with blogs are if someone does not want to tell you something then you have no recourse.
Just keep your chin up pal.

My memory is the worst ever, I’ve never taken part in any quiz. Huge respect to the Dudes that organise and set them up.
Sad if one has spoiled it. Dinnae give up.

My folks are both from Gweedore where the Gardai keep a low profile and allow a liberal amount of lock-ins.
So- never been to Culdaff though I have passed through Derry many times and occasionally stopped there for abreak in the journey but I have a nostalgic preference for stopping in Dungivan.
The scenery in Donegal is superb but the prices can be steep. Post-Brexit- that might change.
Mahe
CRC and BCW ran good Friday night quizzes on here.
Mahe
I would have participated but… Well I am crap at quiz’s as my memory is not that good.

I know I am new to the blog, but please keep it up and just maybe I will google.. I mean try and answer some questions next time.
