Belgians premature

1296

The Belgian league put the cat amongst the waffles yesterday by declaring the Jupiler League over and Bruges champions.  They sorted out their TV and other commercial arrangements and can start next season as soon as it is safe to do so.

There are very few calls to cut seasons short.  Tight leagues, such as in Italy and Spain, would forever  have questions hanging over them, while those assured of winning the title, as in Scotland and England, want to do so on the field, not at a league meeting.  Still, it was nice to see panic among the Null and Voiders, who would rather everyone lost than anyone (Celtic) won.

The Belgians have been pragmatic but premature, football is finished for the season, their champions are assured without controversy and they will accommodate those threatened with relegation.  The rest of Europe still clings to the hope that competition can start behind closed doors in the summer.  It will next month before we know if this is possible, there is no reason to make decisions before then.

    Excerpt from above link

Given the foregoing context, it is not surprising that a new coronavirus, SARS-CoV2 (which causes the disease COVID-19), has emerged and is now causing a serious pandemic wreaking havoc all over the world. The official narrative of the US Center for Disease Control, WHO, most governments and the mainstream media is that SARS-CoV2 has its origin in bats and is linked to a large seafood and live animal market in Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the pandemic and where it was reportedly first discovered. Even the Chinese Center for Disease Control initially announced that SARS-CoV2 started at the seafood market in Wuhan.

Later, though, a spokesman for China’s ministry of foreign affairs claimed that COVID-19 may have been brought into China by US soldiers who were in Wuhan 14 days before the first case of SARS-CoV2 infection was discovered, and that the origin might be the United States.36 He cited reports that Japanese and Taiwanese epidemiologists and pharmacologists have determined that the new coronavirus could have originated in the US, since that country is the only one known to have all five types – from which all others must have descended. Wuhan in China has only one of those types, rendering it in analogy as a kind of “branch” which cannot exist by itself but must have grown from a “tree.” Part of the proof of this assertion is that the genome varieties of the virus in Iran and Italy have been sequenced and declared to have no part of the variety that infected China and must, by definition, have originated elsewhere.37 It would seem the only possibility for origination would be the US because only that country has the “tree trunk” of all the varieties.38

So was Italy punished for entertaining the belt and road initiative and why Europe refused to provide aid?

    Certainly looks that way

  4. Fairhillbhoy! Hopefully me and your good self and the legend mars papa can have a beer and a shaking of hands after this horrible virus! Anyway take care Jamie ! Sorry for previous crap

    Big G,

follow the evidence and the money, the yanks have let this loose on the world expecting the panic and useful idiots to distract from their true strategy,

What’s completely copulated up is the stupidity of the useful idiots that believe their leaders give a funkeys muck about their well being. It was Japanese and Tiwan research that found only one country has all five base strains, yep the good ol US of A, that means the US military complex considers the US population ad expendable collateral damage. The cull is a useful distraction while they implement further totalitarian plans that reduce the ordinary Americans rights and freedom.

    Big G,

Did you read any of the information provided?

I made that mistake, you don’t half feel silly when you eventually read it and are forced to accept the findings, but then, that only applies if you have an open mind willing to accept new information as opposed to being part of a prpiaganda machine that has only one goal,

    ……………….

Ive just seen your Posts this morning.

I will be 65 this year..I was born in 1955.

Alex Wright OBE…was like a Father Figure to me and a great Socialist. As I mentioned earlier he loved my style of playing Fitba, as I was fast and I had great stamina……a mixture of Bobby Lennox and Stevie Chalmers

    LOL.

I knew Mr Nevin and his boy young Pat, when Pat was only around 7/8 years old. Young Pat who later played professional etc and his Dad would be playing fitba, with his Dad teaching him how to Trap a ball etc next to us Older Boys who were playing 3 or 4 a side. Wee Pat would sometimes join in with us older boys…and although he was Tiny and Skinny etc…you could see the Fitba “in him” even at that early age.

I was sometimes a bit jealous of wee Pat Nevin as his Dad was always teaching him Fitba, with his tracksuit on in the grounds of Easthall School, as I didnt live with my Da and I didnt see him very often…but how I wished that I had a Da like Mr Nevin !

My Da never kicked around a ball with me, he was always too busy trying to make money and chase after Wummin…LOL !…..and following Celtic obviously.

I played with St Benedicts around 1972/73/74, and before that Lochbridge Utd. I had a short spell with Haliburton Rovers, who were regarded as The Proddy Team…but I was then “Transferred” to Lochbridge Utd. Haliburton Rovers strip was a Dark Blue Jersey, White Shorts and….ORANGE Socks !….I used to say that they were “Gold Socks”.

Okay, I wasnt “Transferred” as such, but The Wright Brothers sort of “Tapped Me Up” to sign for Lochbridge….I soon saw the LIGHT !

Our paths must have crossed somewhere in those great days, ….when my ONLY worry in life was to keep my place in Lochbridge and then latterly the St Benedicts Team..looking back I took my Fitba very seriously.

    ……….

I loved that Celtic All White Strip with the Green Trims on the Collar, Cuffs and Socks…..and I have spoken about over years to several Celtic Pals who didnt remember it.

Something tells me that Strip was NOT available to buy in the Shops…I could be wrong ?

I was a lucky Boy and I had several Strips including The Hoops obviously, and also the ALL Green Celtic Strip…WITHOUT any White Trims…Just GREEN.

For some reason and maybe as I mentioned..the All White Strip maybe was NOT available in the Shops, as I am sure someone in my family would have bought it for me ?

This become known as Celtic’s “Floodlight Strip”…it looked Spectacular under the Floodlights.

If I remember correctly…the last time Celtic wore that strip was when Dynamo Kiev beat Celtic 2-1 at Celtic Park on a Wednesday night…and we were Champions of Europe at that time as it was season 1967/68.

We drew the 2nd Leg 1-1…so we were out of Europe in the 1st Round.

I am led to believe that Celtic never wore that All Green Strip again after that shock defeat ?

up til then Celtic had been unbeaten whenever we wore it.

Funny enough, Celtic did wear another All green strip soon after…but this one DID have White Trims on the Collar, Cuffs and Socks.

  12. Good morning CQN from a beautiful sunny morning in the Garngad

I remember playing against St Benedicts with Possil YM and the Auchingill (I think) tournament, I am slightly younger than you guys though (53).

Who also remembers playing with the school in the morning and a club in the afternoon? 2 games in a day.

Feck I remember before I could drive (17 years of age) jogging from Knightswood to Clouston street just off Queen Mgt Drive for midweek games under the floodlights on Ash.

How fit we must all have been.

I wasnt very clear in my earlier Post.

  17. DAVID66…..

I used to drink in The Dry Dock which is in Plean Street, Scotstoun. For a year or so I lived in the Tenements in Plean Street across from the Pub..maybe around 1992/93.

I joined THE Whiteinch Celtic Bus for a while and I would get picked up either at the Dry Dock PUB and/or The Dolphin in Partick….and MULLINS Pub across the street in Partick.

  19. Good morning, friends and a Big Happy Palm Sunday from a very dry, bright and pleasant looking East Kilbride. A morning walk to the proximity of my son’s house awaits so that we can sing happy birthday to him and throw presents through his window (hope he opens it first!). Then back home for a live Facebook screening of 10am Mass. As someone once sang, Nobody told me there’d be days like these, strange days indeed.

    Stay safe.
