Tyler Blackett’s arrival, announced moments before halftime on Saturday, was welcome. He’ll immediately push Izzie, who has had no real competition for the left back berth since arriving at Celtic five years ago – an incredible situation.
The Ryan Christie situation surprised me. Ryan performed well against a Celtic defence in a state of flux earlier this month, as he has done previously against us, but it will certainly a curious signing (this morning Inverness Caledonian Thistle announced they have accepted a bid from Celtic). More on these two later.
As for rumours that we’re about to spend more money on a player than we have since John Hartson arrived 14 years ago……. Well, that is a change of pace. On top of this business, I’m sure there will be more comings and goings in defence, and elsewhere. Stay tuned……..

Now that we’ve all calmed downish, and that all the wailing and gnashing of teeth has subsided somewhat, following our dismal dismissal from the CL, and is not so prevalent I’ve got 1 question for yeez : Where are we?
It’s not an easy to answer question….business & football club wise….and no, I have no answers only questions.
As a business I feel that the bored are erring on the wrong side of caution…..every season for the last few years they’ve had an opportunity to invest early for the CL…..every poker player will tell you that pot odds are an important factor in their decision making but it seems that our bored are happy to gamble without using their brains….more akin to crossing their fingers & hoping for the best ;-((
Football: how will we measure success this year….progression means League & Cup double plus last 16 of EL or domestic treble plus EL group qualification….personally i would take the latter, but that’s just me.
I’ve sed before that I thought that RD would need 5 years to turn this football club around….he’s now in year 2 & now beginning to get his own team together….& that whilst I hope (in my heart) for CL football, we’re not there yet….

The signing of the Striker is a Poker game. As I have said Michu one of three Players we are talking to. Hoping that No. 1 is not made a better offer from somewhere else. If they are, we go for the others, depending on how we play them will depend on who we get. There is a left field option but cannot get a name, still not long to go.

Derk Boeriggter is the worst CFC signing since Rafael Scheidt. He is in Winston Bogarde territory.
He cost a lot. Then he sat around on very big wages for 2 years.
But I still remember his debut 30 minutes, before he got injured. I thought he was great.
