Tyler Blackett’s arrival, announced moments before halftime on Saturday, was welcome. He’ll immediately push Izzie, who has had no real competition for the left back berth since arriving at Celtic five years ago – an incredible situation.
The Ryan Christie situation surprised me. Ryan performed well against a Celtic defence in a state of flux earlier this month, as he has done previously against us, but it will certainly a curious signing (this morning Inverness Caledonian Thistle announced they have accepted a bid from Celtic). More on these two later.
As for rumours that we’re about to spend more money on a player than we have since John Hartson arrived 14 years ago……. Well, that is a change of pace. On top of this business, I’m sure there will be more comings and goings in defence, and elsewhere. Stay tuned……..
Thanks to everyone who entered the raffle for the Golf Day for four at Aberdour. Taggsy informed the winner (Gerry) by email this morning.

Should have bought players a month ago
Feck all use now. The bird has flown
Taxis for Scepovic and sick note! Who writes this tripe on CQN. I’d prefer an in depth analysis on why the eejit responsible for signing these 2 and costing the club well over £5 million, that’s before we include the amount for terminating ‘sick notes’ contract, Is still in a job.
Also would have liked to have seen Anto get a chance to say farewell at CP, if indeed he is offski. Regardless of opinions he severed the club well, scored many goals and assisted in numerous more. His striking partnership with Hoops was one of the best we have seen at Celtic for a while and by the looks of it it may be be another ‘while’ before we see such a prolific partnership playing for the Bhoys again.
Fare thee well Anto, Thanks – YNWA.
TheOriginalSadiesBhoy- If the company you worked for, invested major sums of money, on your say so, and failed the way CFC have, I don’t think you would last too long.HH

Indeed, I am good, hope you are as well.

Another superb piece of business by Celtic tying up a promising young talent we will need future, Clever to ensure he gets first team football instead of wasting in a development team.
Much like the Liam Henderson loan to HIbs.
Very smart business from Celts, glad we got Ryan Christie with loads who CQN’rs, who said he
stood out in games against us.

Agreed or if Sparky goes through a lean patch or is off form during any particular game. Bottom line mate we need another striker.
Keep the Faith!

There is a chance the players didn’t want to come a month ago, we might be their best option now but not so a month ago
Lennybhoy. What I was trying to say we need a back up striker and I cant see Fletcher joining us just to be a back-up. H.H.

the weemhans mam no1 daughter was giving me and him it tight at 8am this morning, she bought him a big tub of chalk and me and him were writing Celtic things on tne pavement for an hour yesterday,
i should know better she says :)))))))))))))))
I hope young Christie doesn’t suffer the same malaise that afflicted his father, when he takes up residence at Celtic Park.
De gea £29m to real
Liam Henderson…Jeezo…We buy Armstrong Allan and Christie and people still go on about Liam Henderson…Never Gonna Happen…

………..,,,,.
I’m in total agreement. We’ve spent a fortune on total duds – Bangura, Pukki, Boa Constrictor, Balde et al when £6 million would have bought us a decent striker.
Gravesen scored home and away against deid team

WITS ..
My thoughts exactly ..
But we’re bringing quality in .. AT LAST!
We weren’t gonna win the CL ..
We’re a big club in the EL…
Never know :)
Well I’m gutted Scepovic is for the off,one of those cool Eastern European names in a fitba player is what we need,I mean, that guys name almost sounds clinical so he would’ve been clinical on the park had he got a chance but it wasn’t to be,instead we sign lots of young roll in sausage eatin’ Scottish players,I don’t know,u honestly don’t,still,I’m hoping we get yon Simonovic,he sounds like dynamite with a name like that and am share he would’ve carried the team against Malmo n got us through,if only we had bought him earlier!
As for Boerrigter,I could tell when he first came he would be Rafael cos his name sounds like Brigton, somebody needs to have a word with the scouts.
p.s Anybody want any horsey tips?
JOE FILIPPIS HAIRCUT on 31ST AUGUST 2015 8:11 PM
Took it that’s what you meant mate and agree with you that he wouldn’t play second fiddle. That said as you know you can’t expect to walk into the Team.
It might not be Fletcher anyway.

Brilliant, tell his mum she shouldn’t have got him the chalk
(easy for me to be brave when I am not there)
I hope is Steven Fletcher comes he is a huge success. On the day that Derk left the club after some form of settlement, I hope we are careful here.
I wouldn’t want to lose money, even through a loan deal, especially given the antecedents of the current Sunderland manager.
Some of the comments from Sunderland supporters make interesting reading.

Again if he signs, wishing him all the best.
Fair play to Mr Pastry for his non ‘self indulgent’ commentary at 4.58pm.
Thanks for the entertainment.

Joe Fillippis…I like Griff but Fletcher is Better…Griff would be No 2 …Ask GS….

DENAYER JOINS GALA
Manchester City defender Jason Denayer has joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old Belgian centre-back signed a new five-year deal at the Etihad in July.

Best wished Jason,
Stumbled into Gaffney’s in Fairview for a swift pint.
Horse r I got on and I saw a horse called The Wee Barra was running. I picked it and it won.
Lucky me .
However, I don’t back holidays, so I never won anything.
Now, wasn’t that interesting!
Bada Bing . You might laugh at this but I think we have the back -up on our books and we are about to let him leave.I think Stokes is the ideal back -up and Sparky and Stokes would be a good combo unfortunately hes blotted his copy book with Ronny. H.H.
Ha!!!!!!!!.
Mr Pastry has found his puff.

So posters are railing against the idea of signing Stephen Fletcher?
That same Stephen Fletcher that we didn’t sign from Hibs?
The one that would gave made all the difference to us?
The one that Peter Lawell is still getting a kicking for?
Because he DIDN’T sign him..,,?????
And we want a dans group running the club…….?????
My fault. Coming on here sober.., :)
You are at it and know you are at it.
Some, myself included, have periodically lamented failing to sign the Fletcher of some six or seven years ago.
Even PL has acknowledged that failure.
I imagine today’s fletcher is a pale imitation of the player we failed to sign.
Lennybhoy….
At least you responded to my post… :)
I write quite brilliant stuff on here and get ignored.
But now I know. Wee spelking mistook and I’m in….:)
If Scepovic has gone to Getafe I would expect it to be confirmed as the Spanish window closed earlier this evening.
Keep the Faith!

Mr Pastry
When you talk about football…you know your stuff (mostly).
But when you go all Kanye West….I need to say something:)

I know you write some good stuff. I just don’t get involved in much debates unless I feel I can contribute or add something. However, I will actively look to answer more of your posts.
Good spelking dependent of course…:)

Hail Hail!
Does the transfer window not slam shut at midnight tomorrow?
Thom
Very interesting.
Probably living in the realms of fantasy but from the names being banded around. I’d like to see both Michu (permenant) & Kramaric (loan) come in. They would give us a genuine threat for the Europa League & bring some much needed excitement to the club.
